Right And Wrong: Debate With My Dad - http://blog.niravmistry.in/2011...
Book Review by Dr Bharat Desai: "Art of Power" - Thich Nhat Hanh  Our society is founded on a very limited definition of power, namely wealth, professional success, fame, physical strength, military might and political control. My dear Friends, I suggest that there is another kind of power, a greater power: the power to be happy right in the present moment, free from addiction, fear, despair, discrimination, anger and ignorance. THIS power is a birthright of every human being, celebrated or unknown, rich or poor, strong or weak. Read Full Review: "Art of Power" by Thich Nhat Hanh - Rahul Desai
How To Enjoy Your Life And Your Job - http://www.rahuldesai.com/books...
"How To Enjoy Your Life And Your Job" is a story told by a person in Dale Carnegie's class, about a request made by his wife. His wife and a group of other women in a church were involved in one self-improvement program. She asked her husband to help her by listing six things he believed she could do to help her become a better wife. He got surprised by such a request. He told the class about the same and also told he could have listed many such things he would like to change about her and she could have also listed thousand things about him – but he didn't. he told his wife to let him think about it and give her an answer in the morning. Butter And Mashed Banana - http://www.rahuldesai.com/movies...
With no explicitly defined characters and three real life people switching roles on stage, Butter And Mashed Banana portrays the story of a boy born to parents belonging to two different political parties. The challenges that the boy faces even before taking birth in this world of choices and conditional living is interwoven with his journey through to success of being a famous author of a internationally bestselling book, which is then made into an Oscar winning movie. The real challenge or rather struggle that the then ‘boy’ faces is to ‘establish’ himself in the Indian scenario where his book and movie are under serious scrutiny by the censor board, consisting of well educated lawyer, economists, artists and other ‘significant’ members. The consistent and failed efforts of the author to publish his book and release the movie in India frustrates him enough hence drives him to take politics as a career. The play ends with an elaborate discussion on why the dictionary would be banned... - Rahul Desai
The One Minute Apology - http://www.rahuldesai.com/books...
Dr Bharat Desai's review of "The One Minute Apology" by Ken Blanchard and Margret McBride: A powerful way to make things better. A manipulative technique for getting what you want. A power of forgiveness to improve or repair relationships, your business and even your home. This is a rare book exploring a very important subject – poorly understood and hardly bothered. I will start with the most important issue that is, “The toughest part of Apologizing is realizing and admitting that you were wrong.” The power of the one minute apology is deeper that just words. The core of most problems is the truth you don’t want to face. The longer you wait to apologize, the sooner your weakness is perceived as wickedness. Without changed in your behavior just saying “I am Sorry” is not enough. Apologize not for outcome, but because you know you were wrong and it is the right thing to do. When you honestly express your feelings with someone you care about, you show respect for yourself and the... - Rahul Desai

Hypocrite That We All Are - http://www.rahuldesai.com/blog...
Paradox and Hypocrite happen to be two of my favourite words in English language. I’m assuming it’s because I can relate to these terms quite closely. While I tend to find, notice and remark irony out of most of the practical situations, I feel I’m strongly responsible for their very existence. Thanks to some distinct contradiction between my speech and action, I manage to produce interesting whirls in many affairs I’m directly involved in. Such behaviour – often unintentional – is usually amusing and beneficial; however, the only honest word to define is Hypocrisy. Much as I try to introspect and implement stronger life-ethics, I’ve observed I often (unknowingly) take a path of pretence – something that conveniently works my way. Not that I’m proud of it, nor has it played any role in the little success I’ve achieved in my professional and personal life; I can only be honest that I haven’t always been the most neutral person one should ideally be. And so I thought of resorting to... - Rahul Desai

5 Workout Tips That Work - http://www.rahuldesai.com/blog...
When you learn, teach. When you get, give. - Maya Angelou (US Author & Poet, 1928). I’m no wizard in exercising or dieting. We have gym instructors and nutritionists for that. With consistent (read futile) attempts over decades, however, I’ve attained the inside knowledge of the reasons why common people fail to adopt the routine of regular workout. And in the interest of humanity, I must share the secret with the rest of the world. Starting way back from 6th grade in school when my parents took up ‘family lifetime membership’ at a Health Club back home, to Kota, Pune, Bhopal and now Bangalore. I’ve made generous donations to some of the biggest players in the ‘health and fitness’ business in these cities. And they’ve failed to get me what I want. I’ve failed to understand what I want – or rather, what I need to do. All I’ve gained is some more weight and increasing BMI, learnt some creative excuses not to exercise. One doesn’t necessarily need to go to a gymnasium to exercise and... - Rahul Desai
