RT @pathik: @rakeshlobster Every ecommerce player wants to use gross revenue/GMV numbers these days. Even after Groupon was criticized for doing it
I'd rather have my hair removed with a blunt laser using a Groupon than deal with PayPal customer service for billing issues.
Google Wallet is more useful than PayPal offline product.
Just paid Home Depot with PayPal. Oh, I feel manly. (@ The Home Depot) [pic]: https://foursquare.com/rakeshl...
I need an assistant to write all of the Groupon/Yelp/Facebook stories that are on my mind, but not enough time.
Anyone think this new offline PayPal thing has legs? I'm having a hard time figuring out why it would. cc @tek_fin
Paypal's new pay by phone number service won't let you use 1111 or 1234 as a PIN. 9876 is OK, though.
Henceforth refusing to read stories with headlines "truth about" "real story" "inside secrets" "[google|facebook|groupon|amazon] killer"
Even if PayPal did get 2% of transactions, they'd only generate 2% of that.. or $1.4 billion. not $70 billion. of which half goes back out
.@eirikbakke @square yeah, i can think of a number of places where square interface can be optimized.
I've seen some bullshit stats in my time, but one in this story takes the cake: http://www.reuters.com/article... Can you find it?
.@pathik haven't taken a look at yelp valuation after they updated s-1 with Q4 results. my clients don't seem very interested.
Yelp's merchant agreement specifically says buying ads doesn't influence your reviews/ratings. (But IME, many SMBs don't read these things.)
tonight's bedtime reading: yelp merchant agreement. fun stuff. some surprises.
.@askotzko for restaurants, i like Savored and GrubHub. for all SMBs, I like free products from Yelp, Twitter, Facebook.
Square remains one of the few services I wholeheartedly recommend for SMBs.
This piece about @square is just full of dumb analysis and non sequiturs. http://www.journalgazette.net/article...
And certainly not as huge as Business Insider spreading a piece into 23 pages to troll for page views.
This is the piece critical of @square. Agree that Square has some UI issues that need fixing, but not huge. http://www.businessinsider.com/the-tru...
has anyone looked at how android handles address book data? i'm pretty sure similar issues there. (though disclosure *slightly* better)
Anyone see the story about negative merchant reaction to @square? I can't imagine why merchants would dislike it, so really curious.
Fun meeting with @leslieberland, Ed Gilligan and Brad from @AmericanExpress. They understand small business like noone else I've met.
.@dragushan @mdudas @localseoguide that's been the decades old problem in local. You need Google, @AmericanExpress or Facebook type scale.
.@dylan20 I like the new VentureBeat design. And I'm a tough guy to please.
I'm at The Grove (690 Mission St, btwn Annie & 3rd, San Francisco) w/ 3 others https://foursquare.com/rakeshl...

#UX online chat for customer service should "ding" when agent responds.
As long as digital is still a rounding error, we'll have to deal with the inanity of TV/movie content rules. http://allthingsd.com/2012021...
