@Laurie, Oh man. Those are serious granny panties!
- ♥patricia♥
I'm thinking Mona likes the kind of underwear that covers her womanly bits with dental floss. [EDIT: Not that there's anything wrong with that. I bet she looks smokin' in em.]
- Laura Norvig
Out, I am not loll! You're freaky deaky dude. And you guys are all missing where the actual slider is positioned. Cha-Chiiiing!
- Mona Nomura
from IM
Mona, I know you are hinting at something so but I've been rubbing my screen for the last hour trying to work it out and all Ive done is worn a hole....what am I doing wrong?
- Threepwood
Its all nice but please get it off Celina Jaitley, she is yuck and she talks weirdly. Please photoshop it on someone else. Then I would enjoy it more. =P
- Faraz Mullick
This would sell AWESOME in the Chicks with D*cks/ Wangs demographic (hermaphrodites/pre or /during op Trannies) market, so as to jump the lines at sporting venues etc. & YES they ARE GRANNIES!
- sofarsoShawn
With my luck, they'd be password protected.
- Robert Hafer
Mona, if these are granny undies, what exactly do you wear? lol
- Daynah
Anna, apparently the nail polish is there to give perspective on how giant the panties are. Full story (towards the bottom of this post): http://metalia.blogspot.com/2007...
- Laura Norvig
http://www.dakim.com One study, Bronx Aging Study, show that people who exercise their brains as they get older have a 60% lower chance of getting dementia. Interesting machine for older people.

I can't say it enough. There needs to be a public outcry to motivate the FBI and their international counterparts to improve detection systems, and prosecution. Make examples out of several scum bags. Let the online world go forward without the waste.
- Ed Shahzade /NextInstinct
what's happens to the web?! so much hate and stupidity.
- Orli Yakuel
I certainly didn't think it was funny.
- Enriqueta
Its anything but funny! We hear so much twitter hacked and now macworld, why not about catching the hackers?
- Sudha Jamthe
The low-lifes that did this need to be made an example of. This is totally ridiculous and way out of hand. This nonsense is a total waste of bandwidth and a dishonor to the human race.
- J. D. Ebberly
I got a second monitor for as little as £100, excellent screen.
- Kol Tregaskes
overclockers.co.uk has a 22" for £111. I'm getting two on monday. 3 monitor set-up. If you're going to buy, make sure there are two left for me :)
- Roberto Bonini
That's what Spaces is for... assign it to a dedicated desktop :)
- Bwana ☠
@Zee not me. I want home field advantage throughout the playoffs (but I want to be a good road team too).
- Steve Rubel
I would say no. Twitter and FriendFeed supplement blogs, they don't replace them, in my opinion.
- Nate Pilling
from twhirl
@Nate, I agree but it seems like this is a critical time for blogging, no?
- Steve Rubel
What if friendfeed becomes a blogging service?
- Robert Scoble
I was thinking Scoble, but I'm not sure if any top bloggers could afford to drop their original platform for purely aggregation services.
- Mo Kargas
@Scoble I thought about that as well. But again, it comes down to equity. Where do you want to build it? Here or on your turf - on your own land/domain. We need systems that connect the two.
- Steve Rubel
Seems like it would be giving up alot of Google juice/distribution power. Why not do both?
- Adam Singer
What about people who go straight to FF and consider blogging an afterthought? Either way, the premise that FF/Twitter's 'big-ness' can be causally correlated with a top blogger deciding to stop blogging is wrong.
- trextor
I like Friendfeed's best of feature. I find it invaluable but RSS still owns me. How about you?
- Steve Rubel
from IM
Blogging is here to stay. I mean, c'mon, twitter is small messages, and FriendFeed isn't exactly large.Blogs are still required for long/lengthier pieces. Maybe we'll get more higher quality blog posts, akin to what you'd see in traditional media... that'll give them and journalists a run for their money
- Colin Charles
from twhirl
The thing that may cause top bloggers to quit blogging is economic downturn. If the bloggers don't have to go do other jobs to pay the bills, they'll lose their usual audiences because either the audiences have to work more often or their jobs crack down severely on computer activity that isn't work related.
- deusdiabolus
I think the 3 complement each other*
- Billy Warhol
I guess this depends on what field this "top blogger" is in. In '06 and '07 I already lost a few of my oft-read political and.or black bloggers to Twitter. One shut down his blog, "If you want to read my thoughts, follow me on Twitter". All his blog is now, is his Twitter stream.
- Admiral Anika
@Scoble Friendfeed has been a blogging service for you I suppose. Your scobleizer.com is a just long journal tool. Friendfeed is where you "blog".
- Toni @ NavinoT
blogging, microblogs, microvlogs (seesmic) and vlogs (vloggerheads) will continue. Each expresses different things, differently.
- Tom Guarriello
I don't think so ;) I think FF works as a way to converge information, and it always include blogs. I use Twitter in a different way, only sharing few information, but I don't think a top blogger would quit blogging for Twitter.
- Bibi
Twitter sucks - always has, always will. It's too limited, and only geeks - like myself - use it.
- Brad Williamson
Does it matter? People should just use whatever tools are best for them. There are people who blog less or have even stopped, but there are also people who blog more because they find things to write about on twitter than need more than 140 characters. And there will be new things to discover in the next year.
- Steve Rhodes
@Robert True. There are non-geeks who use Twitter - there just aren't very many of them. And those who do don't use it on a daily basis, because they have other all-in-one services (Facebook, MySpace) they can use to keep friends updated on their statuses. I give Twitter another two years of success before the downward slope begins.
- Brad Williamson
It'd be great if they did. More room for the rest of us who know how to balance all of it.
- Louis Gray
We might just lose a blogger named Robert Scoble to microblogging
- Sidharth Dassani
Just the opposite - you'll see them integrate more into the blogs of people, and it will just be a transparent part of a person's own blog. People like to own their data, especially in times of economic uncertainty.
- Jesse Stay
Don't you label Tweets and FriendFeed messages as micro-blogging? Sometime you need more than 140 characters... :)
- Martin Lindeskog
Even us gentleman's C-list bloggers are feeling the tug to throw in the long form towel. Just so many words. In future, I expect to add a letter every few days. Nanoblogging.
- david beckwith
I would say is "more interesting to me". I don't like to tell people what is interesting to them
- Bwana ☠
Chacha: following people is the most important thing you'll do. Agreed. FriendFeed gives you a lot more tools. Lists and rooms. That way you can follow everyone and follow selectively too.
- Robert Scoble
As with FriendFeed lists, TweetDeck has groups. I filter what I read in my client, not at the follower level
- Bwana ☠
Before Twitter neutered Track, I used Twhirl to read the interesting people, and Track to manage the noise. I was forced to change my ways
- Bwana ☠
friendfeed is a lot better than Twitter...
- Stormy
FF is twitter on steriods ...er ProVigil :)
- Susan Beebe
FF is far more interesting than Twitter.
- Thomas Hawk
I'm with Bwana regarding the halcion days of Track.
- Micah Wittman
There is richness on FF that Twitter simply can't attain.
- Michael Krigsman
I am starting to understand the nature of FriendFriend. You did a great job with Kyte video. Have you interviewed the FF team?
- Martin Lindeskog
I haven't done a good interview with them. I should. Bret? Paul? You around this week?
- Robert Scoble
I agree that FF is feature-rich and while its learning-curve is steeper than Twitter, it's more immersive. Does everyone see value in twitter still or will it go the way of MySpace (random noise, company/product promotion)?
- Melinda
I get FF. I still think Twitter is a feature not a product. I think it would be interesting to see an age/geographical distribution of Twitter users. It'll probably be primarily Silicon Valley and 30+.
- trextor
@trextor It'll be more distributed than that geographically. Also, more like 25-40.
- Chris, Taskerrific Guy
A cacophony of different twitter streams, strands of interests diverge & merge.
- Phil Boiarski
There are two types of popularity: One is positive and other is negative. Slamming the famous personalities will help you achieve the latter.
- Ramkarthik
Let me know if you're seeing the same thing. http://www.TwitterCounter.com is showing a massive uptick in followers for just about everyone lately...
- Louis Gray
Shawn, I don't think it's the FriendFeed app that is doing this. I checked people who I don't think use FriendFeed, and they were seeing the same. And I've never used the app...
- Louis Gray
Let me just say that *I* followed a few hundred new people yesterday thanks to https://twitter2ff.appspot.com/ and many of them have followed me back. I'm sure Twitter itself is also growing independently of that.
- Daniel J. Pritchett
According to twittercounter, I usually get +1 a day, but I got 6 yesterday. Of those 6, 4 were spammers and I only refollowed 2. That's 2/3rds. I wonder how much spam followers and SEO specialists account for the recent spikes.
- Alan Le
I ran the app last night and have received about a hundred reciprocal follows (which wasn't the reason I used it). But I agree with Louis: FF's growth is organic. In any case, they're aren't enough FF users to account for this sort of spike. It's real.
- Chris Baskind
Louis - Do you get facebook updates to your email box everyday?? So much data to sift through. Wow.
- Amani
Can't say I've seen any of this personally, the one thing I see is people more open to conversations in Twitter -- like they're warming up to the concept of social dialogue
- Jorge Escobar
@Amani, I get all updates to e-mail and I never delete. I just sort to folders.
- Louis Gray
I've noticed a big uptick, too Among other things, perhaps this is related to the economy and the increased need for networking.
- Mike Reynolds
@Chris @ Daniel, I too ran the twitter2ff app two days ago and found that every time I do a massive Twitter-Following-Spree I get both a boatload of reciprocals but also a secondary wave -- from folks who I hadn't followed. Same hasn't been true for me on FF. I'm not sure there's any significance to that, but I've also just felt that people are quicker to follow on Twitter.
- Marko Bon
I've noticed this as well - been wondering why I've suddenly started getting at least 2 followers a day.
- Alexander Carlill
Louis I am seeing the same, I don't have many followers but 25 new in a week is a big increase!
- Joe Dawson
seems like the "value" of twitter followers decreases as people follow more and more people
- Deva Hazarika
Well, for one thing, we have near 2,233 people auto-following on SocialToo.com. Amongst those, there are near 2 million followers. So, near 2,233 people are automatically following you when you follow them. I'm sure that's only one factor though. Also, you have to follow them first to get them to follow you back.
- Jesse Stay
Deva, I totally agree, it's a disjointed mosh/race for followers, influence and kudos that will start to stink soon
- Bob Sonin
@Deva and @Bob, my thinking is that if there is a statistic out there to be counted, people will find it. Also, I believe people are growing more comfortable with following many and not treating it like Facebook, etc.
- Louis Gray
anyone think it may be folks who have lost their jobs, I have had an uptick in linkedin folks for that reason.
- Mark Ramsey
I think 1-2% of real people are comfortable/capable of following many but most people are not and prefer water cooler style network news, dumbed down for the masses without having to think too much, perfect for the couch and no thought required
- Bob Sonin
Followers are spiking, but if you read Darren Rowse's new blog TwiTip regularly, I GUARANTEE you'll see a noticeable spike in your followers. Darren Rowse is a preeminent authority on how to use Twitter.
- J. D. Ebberly
I can't use the twitter2ff app because my own usernames differ on the two services. But I'm OK with that - Twitter is still mostly an afterthought for me. Friendfeed is my home base. Live and learn on the username thing, though. Personal branding fail.
- Laura Norvig
I was just thinking this today. I've had a good uptick in followers on Twitter over the past few weeks. I thought I was special and people were digging my updates.
- Vaughn
I've seen a large uptick in followers which a large majority of are from FF so I do think that users here are heavily usin the Twitter2FF app. I'm glad they have too because I am now following many folks from here because of it.
- Mark Krynsky
Thanks. Never heard of it. Now used it, liked it, and recommending it!
- Linus
Weird. Just tweeted about that then read this. Twitter has, for the first time, eclipsed FF for me. Considering I've been mostly offline this week, kinda strange ....
- Charlie Anzman
