I like the declarative attribution that's shown through RT. I worry that with Twitter's implementation, we'll start to lose the sense of what is being shared and why. To me, the semantics of "RT" and "via" say something specific about what we think of a tweet and what others should do with it. I suppose clients like TweetDeck can implement the "RT" as part of the display of a link, but I'm not sure why Twitter feels compelled to change this. Seems like there is so much more they could be doing. - Randy Holloway
