This is clearly not my cat. If this was my cat he's have one arm shoved down into the printer trying to tear up all the internal whirling bits with his bare claws.
- Soup in a TARDIS
Too Funny! Reminds me of the San Mateo Cat Shelter where one of the cats loves to sleep on top of the laster printer where the paper comes out...
- Greg Lato
1600+ to beat the FFundercats live chat thread. I think with this real time now on all threads we're going to see some truly epic comment numbers.
- Simon Wicks
Ivan, no the picture speaks for itself. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Petr, I have no idea what you mean, but thank you. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
@Kol .. :] that, partially, might have been the purpose.... I don't know it exactly either. :] .. was I reflecting on a cat under the fax, and that it is hard to fax that way ... /?:] ... "underfaxing at its worst" ..
- pb:
there ya have me ! :] .... see, to be honest with you, i saw this pic couple days ago, but i let it go, without posting it ..... what does that make me? :]
- pb:
even a flat cat... faxes just can't handle the hair. You'd have to shave the cat first, else the hair will burn and stick to the drum... a mess! (I am extrapolating from transparencies, mind, i don't have access to a cat to test)
- Iphigenie
Hehe, Joelle. This is now tied for the 'likes' top stop. One more then, hehe. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Hehe, Greg. Blimey! Erm, is that not far from 500 likes now? ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Bloody marvelous, Kol. Wish I could like it again... too cute (and help u to 500 likes).
- Roberto Bonini
I couldn't believe it when I logged on from the morning over posting it and saw it was at something 200 likes! You all have a strange fetish with cats and fax machines, hehe. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Am I the only one who saw this and their first thought was - My goodness did someone break that cats neck? It still freaks me out a little
- SteVe C
Steve, it does look a little out of place, but cats are pretty bendy. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
They fax much better if you flatten them first. What?
- The original Kevin
So we can put this post to rest now. :-) 505 likes final count, wow! :-D Good night all!
- Kol Tregaskes
did 3 people really un-like this? now at 506. wtf (edit: uh, oh, yeah, me and 2 + 506 others makes 509. dammit, jim, i'm an artist, not a mathematician)
- ɐ ɯıʞ sıɹɥɔ
One of the best funny cat pictures I've seen! :-)
- John Collis
Kristian, it appears to be. Hehe, John.
- Kol Tregaskes
- Maryaminaa
It's really only social convention which regards it as inappropriate, same with Xeroxing it, like one does with their b__tocks. Wait are we still talking about cats cats here or...
- The Real sofarsoShawn
OMGosh 700+ likes now!! LOL. Thank you all 702 of you. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Roll call...this can be great if we all participate. Add yourself to this shared map. I created a placemark on the 2 major intersections near where I live.
- Mark Krynsky
Mo, I'm a newb to the shared maps stuff, but I turned on collaboration and allowed anyone to edit the map. There should be an edit button and then you can add a placemark.
- Mark Krynsky
Robert bought me a new house in the northern suburbs.
- Andrew Trinh
@Bec...nice. You are the first brave female on here.
- Mark Krynsky
Cool idea, Mark! I was thinking something like this would be fun the other day. Duly added myself - or at least the nearest big intersection. ;)
- Jandy
Mousing over the usernames shows your Google profile info...cool.
- Mark Krynsky
I marked a bus stop near my house. But not TOO near. :)
- Nine
If you haven't yet...go add FriendFeed to your Google Profile...it will then auto-discover and allow you to add a ton of other profiles you have.
- Mark Krynsky
Thanks for the profile tip - I hadn't updated it since I moved here!
- Jandy
Thanks guys. This is coming along nicely. It's great to have as a resource to see where everyone is from. Hopefully this can become a standard feature on FF one day.
- Mark Krynsky
Canterbury, Melbourne, Victoria added
- Duncan Riley
Current count: 13 US, 11 Europe, 3 Australia, 1 Middle East. Happy to see many others add themselves overnight. Hoping more will continue this.
- Mark Krynsky
I've read the instruction and still don't see the button thing to add myself. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now.
-
@Jill, make sure you are logged into your Google account and then click on the edit button above the list of names already on the map. You will then see the pushpin in the upper left hand side of the map.
- Mark Krynsky
Added. Seems like there are a lot of us in the Bay Area...we must do a get together at some point.
- Neal "thePuck" Jansons
@Neal yea, we really need a FriendFeed meetup. I might be up there for Web 2.0 in March...or we can have one at SXSW if a large number of us are going. Let's plan and get the Upcoming page going.
- Mark Krynsky
@Mark Not gonna make SXSW, but am definitely down for working on an FF get together. March is long enough away to make sure plenty of people have time to plan ahead. I added you on Upcoming so we can start coordinating it. Anyone else interested/want to help set this up?
- Neal "thePuck" Jansons
Maybe we can talk Paul & Bret into letting us invade the FF offices for a meetup in conjunction with Web 2.0? That would be sooooo cool!
- Mark Krynsky
Pinned! sheesh this just cost me 1/2 hour of time as I scrolled thru all the folks :)
- bear (aka Mike Taylor)
Except for Bret, there are no FriendFeeders on the penninsula between San Jose and San Francisco. So much for Silicon Valley early adopters.
- Ryan Kuder
Cluelessness alert! I'm not seeing how to add my pushpin!
- Hutch Carpenter
For some reason whenever i use google maps in creation-mode, it defaults to some other maps I've used, not the one I'm trying to access - ah, figured it out. Had to de-activate some other collaborative maps
- anna sauce
Added. What a great way to see who's on FF in Austin, TX!
- Carter ♥ HTML5
Thanks... it's *semi* safe, it does include some f-bombs. Wish I could easily shrink it down a bit more. Anyway, it was kinda sad :( I keep hoping things won't go that way... this Exciting Phase has lasted for a solid 6 months so far...
- Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Reminds me of the joke about the phases of sex... The 1st kind of sex is Smurf Sex. This kind of sex happens when youfirst meet someone and you both have sex until you are blue in the face. The 2nd kind of sex is Kitchen Sex. This is when you have been withyour partner for a short time and you are so horny you will have sexanywhere, even in the kitchen. The 3rd kind of sex is Bedroom Sex....
- Tinfoil 2.0
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I just looked again...Gwen Stefani and JLo
- Anna Haro
Hey Anna!! *hug* Seriously... It paled everything else in comparison... I couldn't 'like' anything else on my 'best of the day' tab. :)
- Parth Awasthi
What's retarded is that I thought MTV2 came about because they realized MTV1 was sucking ass and going in a different direction. Seems like they forgot why they made a second channel
- Rah-PM 2012
Some days when I think back to how good MTV was and how crap it is now, it really gets me a bit verklempt. My high school and college years were heavily influenced by early 90's MTV...*sigh* Miss.
- Hookuh Tinypants
MTV India sucks worse. We've got crummier reality shows. They don't play much good music, only recent bollywood crap. VH1 India is okay, 40% music and rest reality shit. And we don't get MTV2.
- Parth Awasthi
I used to watch MTV when I was a kid all the time, when there *was* music.
- Kol Tregaskes
That's being overly generous towards "music"
- Josh Haley
I have been using it for about 6 months and I am very happy with it. It is unobtrusive. but has a nice integration with browsers (Safari, Firefox, OmniWeb, Camino). I have never had a single problem with it and would recommend it.
- Seth Greenblatt
I use it, I like it. Handy because it will create long and complicated passwords for you and you don't need to remember them. Unless you goto a pc, as they don't support those. But then there is an iPhone app that syncs so you has them all the time too.
- Simon Wicks
I really like it. I got if for half off during one of their promos. Full price seems a little high for what it is, but it is nice.
- mikepk
Very handy. I use it often, both on desktop and iPhone.
- Andru Edwards
what i don't get though is - what happens if you're on another computer?
- Zee.
I got it free :) thanks to someone here on Friendfeed.
- Simon Wicks
so yeah, what happens if you're on another computer?
- Zee.
Ummm can't say. Only have it on my MacBook at home, it uses the keychain to store everything so can't really take that around with you. I don't really have the need at the moment to need it on more than one as I have a pc at work, so never thought about it.
- Simon Wicks
At some point I got suckered into installing LastPass and have been happy with it ever since
- Richard Goodwin
from twhirl
How does it sync across machines?, I'm interested too. Always nice to have another backup.
- Simon Wicks
I use it for the mac and roboform for the PC. You can import/ export data between the two so sort of keep them in sync. 1password is ok, but i do prefer the roboform and the way it interacts.
- Mel Buckpitt
1Password: it's real and it's spectacular. ;)
- Kevin C. Tofel
Vincent: You can if have your laptop or iPhone with you. Its an App that runs on the browser & not in the 'cloud'
- Mel Buckpitt
I bought 1password about 6 months ago, but since discovering LastPass (which is free) I've used that instead. LastPass syncs across your PC and Mac through your browser.
- Hobbsy
1Password - I'm a paying customer and happy. It also has iphone support, which I haven't tried yet.
- Micah
Hobbsy - thanks for tip on LastPass. Didn't know about it.
- Micah
I don't like that it uses its own keychain. This means that if I were to stop using 1Password at one point, I'd have to recreate entries in the Mac OS X default keychain that is used by Safari and Camino.
- Paul Grav
I love 1Password. I've been using it since it was in beta and wouldn't think of jettisoning it. My only wish is that they had a Windows version, so when I'm using the company-provided Windows laptop, I could access 1Password's info. I use their iPhone client in a pinch.
- Joey Gibson
Joey: I'm with you, would love a Windows version to use on the work machine. Then id make all my passwords different and much more secure. Damn office not giving me a Mac!
- Simon Wicks
Love it! But I'm a Mac man. If you're using a Windows machine, you should try something else.
- Bill Sodeman
Problem is Bill (for me at least), i have macs at home, 4 of them, but i have a PC at work. So i cant carry the passwords over to my work machine. Thats my only problem. Love it other than that, been using it since last year sometime.
- Simon Wicks
I use Keepass ans sync between machines with dropbox - it's not perfect, but it is cross platform. Plus I kind of let Firefox store my passwords as well. I think I might give LastPass a spin though....
- Eric P
It's good. If you ever used RoboForm on Windows, you'll get used to 1Password
- Outsanity
I love 1Password. It's a must-have app for both Mac and iPhone...
- Brad Brooks
I use 1Password. I actually wish it could just replace the built-in Safari password management.
- DGentry
I love 1Password too. I had to force myself to use it during the first days, but now I won't go anywhere without it. iPhone support is a nice feature, but if you use a rather "sketchy" password it takes time to log in... :)
- Holger Eilhard
now updated for safari 4 beta. Here you go Shevonne...massive discussion about the thing. I decided to stay away.
- Zee.
I have never used it. I use the one Mac provides
- Shevonne
Absolutely love it. Saves my patience and after a recent reinstall ... my bacon.
- Kate Foy
And guess what? This isn't working either. There is something very wrong with my site or with my host. Neither FF Comments plugins work, the Fresh Fresh From FF/Twitter doesn't import any FF-specific posts and Lifestream plugin is struggling to work. Do anyone of these have anything in common?
- Kol Tregaskes
Is that a WP site, Kol? I couldn't get any of the FF comment plugins to work on any of the Ning sites I part of, which is quite irritating because it works really well on my Blogger blog. EDIT: I see you're trying to use the 'comments' plugin on WP. The plugin I have tried is the FF widget (found under 'tools') and it works on Blogger but not Ning. If you get your WP one to work let me know 'cos I have a WP I'd like to us it on!
- WoH: Minding her Steves
I've got the 2 widgets working and have them both in my sidebar. Yeah it's just these plugins. :-( I'm trying to hardest to get them to work, especially one of these FF Comments plugins as it will mean I can post from my blog but still interact with FF.
- Kol Tregaskes
@Kol is it only on new posts? maybe you need to post a new item on the blog
- Rory
Rory, yeah I'm post a new post every time I try the plugins or change something. I'm starting a completely new WP blog, adding only the FF Comments plugin, nothing else then testing that.
- Kol Tregaskes
Cool! Do you have a Blue ray player to go with it?
- Jeff P. Henderson
Yes, Jeff. I used a PS3 pre-robbery, and will continue to, since it wasn't stolen.
- Derrick
LOL @Amanda. Back in the early 90s, I got a job during the "creative" part they asked, what would your perfect job be? I said,"Front for a punk band called the Jizz Moppers." Hired.
- Anika
There's better reasons to have to buy a new TV, but I'm glad that you got one.
- Ontario Emperor
It does look entirely unreal. When I see pictures of you and Kevin surrounded by icebergs, it's eerie and incongruous.
- Stephen Mack
Nice! just saw of the photos on Flickr! what a cool trip.
- Juan Pablo González
Kol - it was an amazing trip and it went so fast I haven't totally had time to digest it. Doing our travel log is helping to re-live and actually process the things we experienced. Our latest entry is here: http://friendfeed.com/e...
- Rachel Lea Fox
Stephen - its sometimes odd for me too and I was there. I just started sorting photos from Day 5 (Jan 30th) last night and was just continuing a little bit this afternoon. Before yesterday I had only looked at about 50 of of the 677 from this day, so these ones are maybe more striking to me than the ones I've looked at a dozen times. There are some scenery shots from that day that I'm having a hard time believing I actually saw these.
- Rachel Lea Fox
Matthew, that's funny! I assume you mean Rachael Leigh Cook. She spells her name weird though! ;)
- Rachel Lea Fox
To give you an idea, this photo that we put in our first travel log entry is from the same area as the ones I'm looking at on Day 5. This photo is from when we passed through the second time heading back north, so a few more days ahead, but it gives you an idea: http://www.flickr.com/photos...
- Rachel Lea Fox
Trains are delayed around Kings X and the tube is pretty screwed. Where I am in Leeds there's about 3 inches of snow and public transport is running fine.
- Andy Murdoch
About 5" and told to stay at home and not to attempt the journey! LT is in chaos!
- Emma
West London is all white! I've heard It's gonna snow heavily this afternoon
- Manuela
That's what I'd have thought Kol, but I suppose if it's a calm inlet it's possible.
- Nicola Quinn
I'm surprised it's settled on the rocks here, you'd have thought the salt would have melted it.
- Nicola Quinn
It's bad isn't it. Am actually entering into the non working spirit of the country at a standstill today even though I work at home anyway.
- Nicola Quinn
Nicola, yeah why not. Let's all go out and have a snowball fight. ;-) I've already had one with my dog. He tries to catch them in his mouth but the snow is too soft.
- Kol Tregaskes
have a friend in kent with a picture of a ruler up to 7" in snow - we have about 3" in the low parts of West Yorkshire
- Iphigenie
Took me three hours to get on a normally half an hour journey as most public transport is screwed. It's transfer deadline day and therefor busy for me (i work on football related stuff) 2 of my team can't get in so it was necessary I got into work
- Rory
Rory, well good on ya for trying, there was no way I was getting up to London in this weather. SE and Southern trains are cancelled in most parts.
- Kol Tregaskes
Aww Kol, my dog used to do that and loved burying his head in snowdrifts.
- Nicola Quinn
Ours in smart casual though we can get away with casual on Friday's. Casual is guaranteed when working from home. ;-) I hate wearing anything smart! :-(
- Kol Tregaskes
Comfy. :o) Jeans, tees, tennis shoes. You come in dressy or business like and they all ask if you have a hot date later. I like it because I like comfy.
- Just Katie
Smart casual, no t-shirts, shorts, stuff like that. The dress code is nice, IMHO.
- Mol, FF Music Lover
Me too Robot. :) I ultimately have to get dressed to encourage Anna to do the same, but I'd stay in PJs all day if I could. And on days like this - long socks. Definitely a dress code must have on cold days.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)
Jen, me too most of the time. Though I tend to get washed dressed before I even go downstairs.
- Kol Tregaskes
"Business casual." It used to be strictly business with casual Fridays, but they only recently changed it to business casual all the time. Button down shirts or sweaters with khakis are the usual way to go now.
- James Ferguson
I tend to dress smart-ish no matter what the dress code is - I like looking nice. But all I buy is always comfy!
- Iphigenie
Depends what department and level you work at at my place. I generally go in wearing jeans and a smart t-shirt. If I know I have meetings with people I'll wear a shirt. I never wear a suit at work, for now at least anyway
- Rory
Extremely casual, too. In fact when people dress up, everyone whispers, "who's the suit?" and they're referring to someone in a polo and khakis.
- Derrick
business casual. slacks or dockers with a company logo shirt is ok mon-thurs. friday can be jeans and a nice shirt. no t-shirts or leopard skin thongs allowed though
- Morgan
Very casual (hoodie), unless I know my boss/CEO is coming into town or I have a meeting with with external people, when I shave and dress up in black or corduroy pants and shirt :)
- ɯɥøq sɐɯoɥʇ
Work clothes. Nice pants, shirts, sweaters, etc. I do dress down on Fridays. Trouser jeans or khakis and sweater/shirt/college sweatshirt. I tend to dress a level above my employees.
-
I don't think there's a dress code. Very casual I guess. I could probably get away with wearing shorts everyday. I try not to dress like a bum all the time though.
- Rodfather
I walk around with my vans and hoodies on inc one that has slave in big letters on it!
- alphaxion
Depends on your role. Smart to smart casual for client-facing people and smart casual to casual for everyone else. I like it. That's "business casual" for the Americans.
- xero
The naked count went up again, thanks Tamar. :-) That's probably a better image than Shawn though. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Scrubs, which is fine by me. They're pretty comfortable and it means I don't have to pick out a different business-y outfit each day. I still wear stripey socks, though, just to mix it up and maintain my "individuality". :)
- Penguin
Monday through Thursday = Business Casual. All other days are casual.
- Christian (Simply X)
Congrats again with the new job, Sean! :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
I travel to different office locations in NE region and we really have different "dress codes" going on...mostly business casual, some smaller offices are "ultra casual". Tomorrow, I am wearing a top notch suit that cost a very pretty penny as I'll be meeting the CEO of Nelnet tomorrow - so this whole dress code thing really varies by location and events onsite.
- Susan Beebe
they just changed our code to "business casual". which sucks. but i'm outta here in 4 weeks anyway. ;-)
- Scot Mcphee
One of the MANY advantages of being a nurse - workplace dress code is scrubs, scrubs, and uuhhm scrubs.
- Sean
