7 girls ride a bus. Each girl has 7 backpacks. Each backpack has seven large cats. Each large cat has seven little kittens. How many feet on the bus? (not a trick question, the bus driver is off having a smoke, don't count him)
- Pete Delucchi
That might not be right, but it is my guess.
- Aaron Hood
Sue, you're on the right path, check your calculations though. Aaron, it's not a trick question, seriously. paws=feet for this problem, but if it makes it any simpler, count the legs.
- Pete Delucchi
7 girls x 7 backpacks x 7 big cats x 7 small cats = total number of cats (x4 = total number of paws) +14 feet for the girls = 9618 - no? (in my defense, I haven't had any caffeine in days) =)
- Caffeinated Sue
0. The girls' feet are likely dangling and not in contact with the bus floor. All cats are contained inside backpacks, also not in contact with the bus floor. Or you could literally mean -on- the bus, like outside it, on top, which would also be a 0. Otherwise, "all of them" is my answer. ;)
- abacab
I miss problems like this - perfectly do-able, but require some thought. Love it! Also love the snarky answers!
- Renee Pie
10990 is right == ((7x2), the girls and their feet = 14) + ((7x7x7x4), girls x backpacks x large cats x paws = 1372 big paws) + ((7x7x7x7x4), girls x backpacks x large cats x small cats x paws = 9604) grand total = 10990. Factored: 7(2+7((1+7)(7x4)))
- Pete Delucchi
Ultimate worst topic: Brett Farve Twittering about Manny Ramirez.
- Richard Hoskins
Dvorak. Always have him on please. You and him ARE TWiT. Wil Harris is also very enjoyable. So is Calacanis. Cory Doctorow also.
- Emil Alexander Swenson
star trek twit wound be timely, will levar and veronica
- Todd Proffitt
Oprah, Dr. Phil, Rachel Ray, and most important of anyone else in the world -- Tyra.
- Walter Lounsbery
With upcoming Hubble service mission, Bad Astronomer Phil Plait and Trek tie in with Levar Burton.
- Doug Torneden
Dvorak, Norton, Rose, and Calacanis...
- Gary Hise
We haven't heard Molly Wood on TWiT in a while.
- Matt Chilcote
Dvorak, Curry, Calacanis, Patrick Norton, and yes cigars and wine
- Aris/Theft
Has Curry ever been on TWiT? I'd love to see Worley on, Dvorak possibly, but if you get those two, maybe add some other old TechTV'ers if possible. Calacan would probably be good too.
- Chris
Molly, Dvorak, WilW, Jason Howell is under exposed, Tom Green, Harry Shearer, Veronica, mix it up Alex A sans Kevin, Merlin, yes please Merlin. And a bit less wine...
- Tom Hofstatter
(Buzz Out Loud + No Agenda)*GDGT Weekly/YLNT = TWiT
- MacNeurotic
0. for a systm geek round: patrick norton (in the house this time, no wandering around & connection issues), dave randolph, and david caulkins 1. stephen fry, conan o'brien, jimmy fallon for a talk show host round (if you can get them), 2. as gunny wallen put it 'no social media experts'.
- sɹǝɥʇɐǝɟʞɔɐןq
How about Bwana and Patrick. They can do impersonations of each other.
- Joe Dearman
Anyone related to Star Trek I guess ... wonder if you can get JJ Abrams though :p
- Clarence Chiang
although very unlikely, would be funny to have george lucas & a round of star trek actors. heh :p
- sɹǝɥʇɐǝɟʞɔɐןq
I don't like listening to people act like they know everything and yes I'm talking about Brian Cooley .. I agree with all the other choices though
- John Blanton
from twhirl
It's always funny how one person's favorite is another person's worst nightmare :) I always enjoy Dvorak, Patrick and Veronica.
- Jeff
Pete Cashmore was cranky and great although probably not popular. Ryan Block and Will Harris are always good. Worley and Molly are very good. Curry would be fun since he is opinionated. Basically choose folks who are very knowledgeable or Type A. No squeeky women who start each sentence with "um" or "well".
- Techboy2000
Wil W pls, he's a fan of both Twit and Star Trek...
- Denverken
Check out Andrew Dubber of New Music Strategies: http://newmusicstrategies.com/ He's a New Zealander living in Birmingham, England, and he specializes in all sorts of ideas on how musicians can find a market and fans online.
- Darren Landrum
Leonard Nimoy, Wil Harris, Dvorak, Molly Wood
- chipster621
Patrick Norton, Lisa Bettany, and some Star Trek with new movie out so will wheaton & Levar Burton
- Matt Pollari
Winer, Gilmore, Calacanis and Doctorow - that should be fun.
- Geoff Schaadt
Wil Harris, Andy Walker and some of the old gang from The Lab. Someone to talk the effects of technology in the entertainment field such as theatre and concerts
- Stephen Dean
Looking over the list, 95% of them are already on, or have been on the TWiT network. Lets get a little more imaginative. Like Josh Topolsky though.
- Bill Heslin
Steve Gillmor, Merlin Mann and Jason Calacanis.
- Wo
Kevin Rose, I know you don't like having him on, but he is nice to see every once and a while. Veronica Belmont would be nice again, Patrick, Maybe John.
- Dakota O'Neill
Sam Ramji, Open Source Director at MS. Talk about cognitive dissonance! Very smart guy and excellent speaker. I can introduce you if you want.
- John Kordyback
Josh Topoksky, Geoff Farinha (up and coming podcaster)
- Shawn Roberts
I really enjoyed Twit 188 with Becky Worley and Devorak. Calacanis is good too. Not a fan of P Norton
- Allison
Wil Wheaton and Levar Burton would be awesome.
- Jason Elliott
John C, Rose, Norton, and Worley. Second list is John C, Harris, Swood, and Curry.
- Kacy
Leo - I'd like to hear from Bret, et al, from FriendFeed and what they've experienced, learned from the very first major outage they have suffered (due to their colo provider losing power)
- Robert J Taylor
Daniel Suarez, author of Daemon… just finished it… awesome.
- Mike Meiners
Heard about that Daniel Suarez. Looking on Audible right now for download (Insert Audible Ad here Leo) LOL
- Bill Heslin
Molly and Lisa--Star Trek geeks; Brian; and Patrick but, as has been stated, only if he's in the house otherwise he leaves early/gets disconnected/gets called away. No more than four
- MikeNNN
Definitely could use me some Molly Wood. Also, Veronica was nice. Hell, make it an all BOL show, bring in Jason and Tom too. And I agree with John, Gruber would be sweet.
- Mike Nayyar
another new suggestion considering the fate of 3d realms: 1UP.com editor Garnett Lee - friend of Patrick, frequent Cranky Geeks guest and all around smart dude on tech subjects
- winston smith
I love the new product reviews like Pogoplug and sling iphone and using eye-fi for instant slide show from camera! LESS ALCOHOL!
- Stephan Romeo
Jason Calocanis - Star Trek Guys are a good Idea too
- Shane Burgess
How has no one said Molly Wood? She hasn't been on in a while. She definitely has a great amount of geek cred.
- Chris Kourmoulakis
Chris, Molly has been all over this biz!
- Mike Nayyar
Patrick Norton, Jason Calicanius, Or perhaps Bwana? Levar Burton is always awesome too.
- Crystal Tillman
For selfish purpose, I'd love to come on and talk about how we're using social networking to help America's homeless. But aside from that (and pardon the plug), I like Baron's choice, Trent Reznor would make for an interesting guest given the present circumstances with Apple. I also would love to see Molly Wood.
- Brandon Mendelson
John C. Dvorak of COURSE, Becky Worley (who seems very insightful and is able to hold her own with John) and lots of wine. Do not under any circumstances allow Calacanis on to do any more impressions, god that's annoying.
- Barry Ferg
Love to hear Pogue if you can get him. If not, bring back Brushwood!
- Joseph
Calacanis is always interesting and how about Levar Burton and Sarah Lane Wil Harris too
- Shaun
FriendFeed crew, MG Siegler, Mark Spencer, Scoble, Joshua Schachter, Kevin Rose, Veronica Belmont, Lisa Bettany, Bwana, Jeff Pulver, Dvorak, Brian Brushwood, Gary Vaynerchuk !
- Jay Neff
I totally think I should be on - I could explain my new theory that explains how dinosaurs aren't actually extinct, but instead exist in a parallel dimension where, among other things, purple is a flavor.
- Tad
Devorak, Shwood, Patrick Norton & Cali Lewis
- Anthony
Shwood, Wil Harris, Robert Heron, and Patrick Norton!
- Brandon Kester
Just get Dvorak and Jason Calacanis together again. Both are insightful, headstrong and controversial.
- Dave Senior
dvorak, calacanis, veronica belmont
- Brian Waters
Interesting to hear what a tech-savvy VC has to say about the state of innovation in tech - what is likely to get funding - who's under presure - where money helps innovate - where VC money offers no advantage etc etc
- Ian Horley
Calacanis, Veronica, Levar and Dvorak of course
- John Gardiner
Still on the VC theme, Guy Kawazaki is a great orator, but not sure how good a pundit he is, or how tech savvy he is http://www.guykawasaki.com/ - I think he s in your neck of teh woods too!
- Ian Horley
why not. the mythbusters vs the ghost hunters
- sɹǝɥʇɐǝɟʞɔɐןq
I enjoy the usual suspects but I really was impressed by the recent appearance of Becky Worley. She really brought some new freshness to the show.
- Mark Krynsky
Anyone that will talk about tech and not swine flu. Dvorak, Patrick, Roger, Veronica.
- keith
I would like to hear Bwana again. Also Levar Burton is always good.
- Dylan Newstead
Kate Russell from click in the uk to add new edgy tech? dvorak of course, and any trekkies for the new movie, steve gibson to make seriously nerdy, how about roz on her new row
- Rob Williams
Bring John C. Dvorak and Jason together please! They are both great to hear in the same episode.
- Pigon (Piotr Golebiowski)
Adam Curry, not that bad of a guy Leo... Less Ryan Block, More Calacanis, More Wil Harris
- Jim Edwards
How about a Blast From the Past! A show on the old Computer Chronicles and maybe get Stewart Cheifet as a guest. I know it's history, and not really a new tech idea, but if not on TWiT maybe on another show. Maybe TDoT - These Decades of Tech, history of where it all started, with guests like Steve Jobs, Woz, Gates (he's retired now also) Capt. Crunch etc.. There is a lot of history there! just an idea.
- HamRadioActive
Discuss Apple's rumored acquisition of EA. Good idea/not, why/why not? With Kevin Rose (Apple Fanboy), Dvorak (Not so much of an Apple Fanboy) and Alex Albrecht (gamer, TRS etc).
- Michel
Louis Gray. He should start a podcast of his own. Perhaps, you could encourage him to start one.
- Michael Fidler
Leo - I would be honored and willing to discuss ANY topic you might toss in my direction. Ukiah, Sebastapol, ... all lie near and dear to my heart. any interest in interviewing a 10 year veteran of the enterprise software biz? name the time/place and i'm there. i appreciate everything you do @leo
- Brian Daniel Eisenberg
Kevin Rose, Sarah Lane, Calacanis, Patrick Norton, Martin Sargent and no Dvorak.
- Michael Sarge
Hey Leo, looked at Square Space thinking about changing but have a question about my domain, i think you said it's not problem to go straight to your www but do they now take over the hosting for the domain and or email, i still would like to use my own domain and my own email extention, and i just signed up with 1and1 to have imap support, does square space have imap support, not sure how that would all work.
- Charles Moore
How about how the white house could have saved 300k and a job. To do the Air Force One Photo - hire someone to photoshop a pricture of AF1 over the SoL - why did we actually need to take the picture?
- Laurence Gold
Molly. Tom Merritt, Dvorak, Veronica, ... how to choose? Good luck making sense of all the suggestions! Oh, and Jono Bacon! ;)
- Bert Van Vreckem
Dvorak/Norton are the best. Molly Wood/Meritt/Veronica are always great, as is Shwood. Wild card Morgan Webb would be neat, but people have been asking for her for almost too long.
- Victor Z
Me. Of course. Bon week-end à tous ; )
- Didier Lahely
I'd really like to see you take it to the next level and turn it into the tech equivalent of the Sunday news shows, ala This Week, Meet the Press, etc. That is, try to get more of the folks who've actually made news in tech this week on the show, combined with analysis of why what's happened this week matters. Just getting a bunch of hosts from TWiT shows and other media outlets talking about who knows whom and promoting their stuff is less appealing to me.
- Ken Sheppardson
Levar Burton - May I also add perhaps an iPhone/BB/C-phone app review/recommendation section of the show - I value the panels input on such things
- Tyler Johnston
Jerry Pournelle, Levar B or Peter Rojas. Spare us the bubble gum ones like iJustine or Lisa Bettany. Shopping exclusively at an Apple Store and being cute != tech expert/panelist.
- Adi
Always love to hear perspectives from Dvorak, Norton, Calacanis, Belmont, Wheaton & Burton, lets add Adam Curry, Economist Paul Krugman and actor Jeff Goldblum to the mix
- Dan Beyer
Molly Wood, Robert Llewellyn, Sarah Lane and maybe Dvorak
- Molly, New Ears :P
Molly Wood & Steve Gibson. It would be rant-astic!
- tamahome
Jerry Pournelle, Molly Wood and John C. Dvorak - Joe Gilbert
- Joe Gilbert
Dvorak's New World Symphony would do rather nicely - Antonin Dvorak
- David Blumenstein
wow... thanks for the love everyone! my favorite guests to be on with are Dvorak and Kevin Rose. I feel like those shows really rock.
- Jason Calacanis
Scoble, Calcanis, Gillmor, Winer and Arrington mud wrestling in pink blancmange! - Make us laugh and then they'll all be friends again!
- Jan Simmonds
Dvoracanis part 2! And Miley Cyrus. Or maybe Paul Thurrott & Andy Ihnatko, plus Kevin Rose.
- Thunderwing
from twhirl
Or Adam Curry, Alex Jones & Michael Savage. Oh, wait, that would be a special episode of No Agenda. Sorry, my bad.
- Thunderwing
from twhirl
Lisa Bettany, Jason Calacanis and Dvorak. Always. It'd be nice to see Paul Thurrott on TWiT, he's always great and it was a big MS week what with the RC.
- Henrik
After listening to todays Gilmore Gang, anybody that sounds more professional then that group would be better.
- John Wallace
It would be an honor to be on the show... www.cyberstudies.org
- Shane Tilton
Here it is the ultimate Twit Group. Leo, Patrick, Dvorak,Brian Brushwood,& Jason Calacanis
- Tom Rowbotham
what about major nelson from the xbox team
- Brad Reiter
I hate survival horror games. Probably the ten minutes of Condemned I played before I happily relinquished the controller.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Wolfenstein 3D with my new Soundblaster 16-bit stereo sound. GUTENTAG!!!
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
Doom II. Played with a headset on late at night and jumped more times than I care to admit. Also, Bioshock has some really, really good creepy moments early in the game.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Doom III was pretty cool, some great moments in that.. Resident Evils were great.
- Tim Hoeck
I tend to relish the feeling of adrenalin when something happens in a survival horror game. Silent Hill I, the original Condemned and F.E.A.R. were all good at that. Even Day of the Tentacle had its moments, though. Nothing scared quite as much as when I thought I had lost the RAID volume layout on the 8-disk PowerEdge POD at work back in 1998 though. *shudder*
- Phil G
It would have to be Bioshock and Condemned. I was absolutely terrified of Condemned and could only play for about 20 minutes before quitting.
- Angel Smith
Alone in the Dark - based on Lovecraft.
- Bonnie Dean
Ooh, Space Hulk nearly made me cry ... when I was 17! o 0
- Timothy Griffin
Oh man, I forgot about Eternal Darkness! That one scared the tar out of me! Angel - Condemned does a fantastic job of ratcheting up the tension and keeping it at a really high level. The scene where the dressmaker's dummies suddenly surrounded me made me jump out of my skin.
- Phil G
I think I mentioned this elsewhere, but playing the human in Aliens vs Predator is scary, especially when your motion tracker starts going.
- Kol Tregaskes
Doom 3, definitely. I couldn't handle the constant adrenalin rush.
- Darren Barefoot
Wolfenstein 3-D. EDIT: First 3-D Game? Stereo sound? Layed the ground-work for any other game you can think of in this context including Doom and Quake.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
I second the human campaign in AvP (that would be my #1 pick). Also Doom 2 (with the music off) and Resident Evil. Bioshock got me, when that one slicer is standing behind you as you turn around. Any cramped spaces in Fallout 3 with ghouls gets me.
- Rob Haas
Alien vs. Predator Gold on PC... Doom 3 as a close 2nd.
- Nathan Chase
What right does she have to take your heart away when for so long you were mine? I can give you two good reasons to show you love's not blind. She's 2 and he's 4 and you know they adore you. So how can I tell them, you've changed your mind?
A Question Friendfeed: Do you come to friendfeed for the links, the pics, the tech, the politics, the conversations, the people, or some combination of the above?
People and conversation. I love interesting people...social media keeps me from being pessimistic about humanity because so many individuals are so interesting, sweet, ethical, and inspiring. The links and all the rest are just a way of sharing experiences with you all. Watching a video is like watching TV with my friends, a pic is sharing art, etc. I'm a writer who works at home...I go days without leaving my apt and the only people I see are my wife and cats. For me, this is a way to be connected.
- Neal Jansons
Yes. Not so much the politics. But, I love all the stuff that gets shared and to read what people have to say about things.
- Yolanda
I come for the general silliness that often abounds. And the people. There are some great people. Can do without the politics and everything else I need or want I can find elsewhere. Yet I still keep coming back here. So, it's probably the people in the end that keep me coming back.
-
Yolanda is channeling me, and I approve her message.
- Great Scott!
Combo, but mostly interesting conversation threads
- Eric Berlin
Links, conversations, and people mostly. Pics are amusing. Not tech or politics at all.
- Rochelle
A combination of all mentioned. The people and the conversations are my favorite part, but of course all us wouldn't be here and talking if it weren't for the interesting and humorous posts.
- Carmen - Happy 2010!
Cheesy answer, but I have to go with all of the above. However, I have stayed for the people. I love all of you guys/gals!
- David Cook
I can appreciate the whole package, as there is much to be garnered and learned from in catching up on the details and exploring the links.
- Ray Marr aka Knatchwa
I came for the links, I stayed for the conversations.
- Renee Pie
Because they are both for Yes on 8! No matter who you're voting for you should vote for 8! Everyone is in favor of intolerance and discrimination! You should too!

I'm on my daily telecon, listening to a coworker argue with the prez of his homeowners assn. Apparently, signs in yards are not allowed, so he moved his McCain sign to his garage door. Now she's complaining about that. He noted that tomorrow is Halloween, and wonders whether decorations are allowed.
Those groups step on laws and rights all the time. These kinds of things would rarely hold up in a court of law. I think a political sign is covered under free speech.
- Eric @ CSTechcast.com
My last on-site assignment put me in a property appraiser's office. He was on his Associations (Country Club, no doubt) board. I had to take calls and messages in reference to a play ground visible to the golf course!!! They decided the playground offenders had to plant a very specific, fast growing shrub to block the view, immediately, or disassemble. What is wrong with people? It wasn't this cheap metal thing, either.
- Heidi Jeffers Thibodeau
It's my understanding that you sign the "Rules" when you move in. Therefore, ALL of it holds up in court because you agreed to it!
- Renee Pie
yep, it's a contract... don't sign it you don't follow it. that why i do NOT live in an association - don't tell me how to cut my grass, thanks
- Susan Beebe
Not all of it holds up in court. In the beginning even the small dishes from DISH and DirectTv were banned. FCC said that was not OK, so now we can have them. I'm pretty sure the courts would uphold a person's right to free speech in a case regarding political signs.
- Alan Simpson
HIMYM is one of the few sitcoms I actively like. And I disagree with the Ted-haters. I'd marry him if he weren't fictional. And if prettier people like Robin and Stella weren't around to distract him from me.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
I love HIMYM! I'm really unhappy with how they ended things last episode, though.
- Mattie Kenny
Oh this is a good show. Neil Patrick Harris is hysterical.
- Molly, New Ears :P
FYI: Your eyes are exactly in the middle of the top of your head and the bottom of your chin. Put one hand on top of your head and one hand (flat palm-down) under your chin to see it.

I've never in my life watched a football game on television on Sunday. Or any other day for that matter. But I know plenty of you love it, so love on!
- Nathan Chase
I love napping with the football on in the background...
- Lisa L. Seifert
I don't nap, but I can't ever sleep with a TV in the room. The noise keeps me awake.
- Ian May
Overdosed (in a good way) on Football yesterday. Can't even go there now.
- Charlie Anzman
I can't get enough of football. Too bad there's no Sunday night game :(
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
There always the 'series' ... Good to see you back Shey!
- Charlie Anzman
Finally a win!!! Ugly win, but I'll take it! Thank GOD the defense bailed out the offense for a change!
- Live4Emma (L4S)
I'm with ya on the football. Cowboys, not so much. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!
- Renee Pie
Wow. What an awesome report on this yes-on-8 rally. It made me remember my church-going days. Yes, churches CAN be that hateful. Amazing, huh? Your post hit me in the gut.
- Robert Scoble
I left my religion (although I hold on to the hope of spirituality) while still an alterboy, with a Grandfather who still Lay reader, when I recognized that most in the congregation , unlike him, observed Christianity more by breeching it's tenants rather than honouring them. And the activists in that church were the ones that violated their faith the most while casting the most stones....

Yes on Prop 8 people are hiding behind those ads with that awful Pepperdine University Professor. Why don't they come out and say what they really feel instead of using kids in their argument. What I cannot figure out, is who cares if you learn that 2 princes can get married in school - and whether you can or you cannot, why should my right to be married be taken away.
- PC Easy
from twhirl
Your post moved me to tears and I thank you for that. I am not pro gay marriage per se. Marriage as an institution is just as flawed for gays as it is for straight people. For me prop 8 is about taking personal rights away. As much as the "vote yes" crowd would like you to think, it's not about children. It's about civil rights and it's about hate. Plain and simple. Vote no if you are against hate and discrimination. Vote yes if you support hate and embrace discrimination.
- Janet Fouts
@scobleizer thank you for your comment. I'm glad it had a positive effect @JanetFouts @PCEasy @David HC Soul yes, it really is all about civil rights, and rejecting discrimination. This is why I want Proposition 8 to fail. I don't think our society should exclude people.
- Karoli
I'm nearly moved to tears just reading these comments. It's good to know we have thought and reason on our side.
- Renee Pie
I came across this post in a weird way, but I somewhat enjoyed the read. I am actually very appreciative of the love I am hearing from the left side. In my 3 month experience with Prop 8 I seem to have the opposite view than what is presented here. I have seen firsthand many of the things Carrie just mentioned. As a Yes on Prop 8 supporter I have talked with people in my neighborhood....

If Christians were go through the New Testament and take every word Jesus said and align priorities for their resources based on that: X percentage on helping the poor, Y percentage on achieving righteousness, etc they would spend exactly 0% fighting gay marriage.

This show is a guilty pleasure for me, it can be really stupid at times but the acting and the chemistry between the actors is really incredible.

I love this show (except the poop episode). It taps into my weird sense of humor. The welfare episode is my favorite so far.
- Renee Pie
Renee I agree it definitely appeals to those with a weird side to their sense of humor.. Sadly this season hasn't been my favorite, I miss the old producer of the show. This season is being produced by Fred Savage oddly enough.
- Nicholas Kreidberg
I like this show when I catch it. I don't go out of my way to watch it, though.
- Derrick
each new episode makes me cringe a little more but i can't stop watching

Some fool stole my webapp, put it on his server and got it listed in the Apple Webapps Directory. The tosser couldn't even be bothered to remove my stats tracking script. Caught in the act! - http://www.doipod.com/ipod...
I would suggest using a thumbtack to make a dot-to-dot style tracing onto the pumpkin. Then use a narrow screwdriver or chisel to just scrape off the orange rind. Basically, create an outline, without carving through. It won't light through, but it'll look just like the outlined drawing.
- Renee Pie
Dow's up 617 right now near the highs of the day. I think there is a good chance we could close in the positive today after 8 straight days of Dow declines.
Watch for profit taking tomorrow, might be a good time to buy if that happens.
- Jeff P. Henderson
NASDAQ and S&P are up even more as a function of %. It looks to be a good day on the markets. GM and Ford are currently big winners. GM was up 30%! last time I checked!
- Alex Scoble
I'm amazed that GOOG is having one of its biggest one-day gains ever, yet trading volume is just average.
- Kevin Fox
close should be around 961 up. Waiting on stocks to close. There is an outside chance that we could see this thing close up 1,000 after all stocks are closed. Lots of last minute upside momentum. Biggest point gain in the Dow ever. 5th largest percentage gain. Light volume today with the bond market closed.
- Thomas Hawk
OMG - amazing what the stock market did today.
- Dana D
Morgan Stanley was up over 80% today.
- Thomas Hawk
Yeah GOOG had an OK day...GM was up 33%, QLD (my favorite NASDAQ tracking ETF) was up almost 25%, but Morgan Stanley rocked the house. I wish I had moved everything to that on Thursday. :)
- Alex Scoble
Too high, too fast. Classic bear market behavior. As Chris said, we'll re-test bottoms soon.
- Aviv
It made my Friday buys look pretty good. Let's hope for a few more days of this at least, so we can get selling opportunities.
- Louis Gray
Did you ever label houses, by the trick or treat candy they handed out?
- Heidi Jeffers Thibodeau
Carmel Apples, back in the days when people made such things themselves to hand out and there were no razor blade or the like worries
- Michael W. May
from twhirl
Michael I remember those!! sooo good! Red cinnamon candied apples too!
- Susan Beebe
Candy corn (that picture looks delicious! :) ), Hershey's Special Dark miniatures, those Brach's caramels with the different flavors, like raspberry...maybe Almond Joys or Mounds, also. It's hard to remember because I pretty much liked any candy. :)
- Cheryl Jones
@Michael May - OMG! Caramel apples! My mouth is watering now! Gotta go see if I can find some caramel somewhere. Not sure I've ever seen it sold on its own here in Italy, tho. :(
- Grey Drane
I hate hate hate candy corn. Reese's Cups or Snickers bars, please... even the fun size ones are fine.
- Bill Sodeman
all of it, really, but candy corn was also great, as well as those molasses-ish flavored toffees
- Mark Dykeman
Melissa! Necco wafers are gross! I introduced my husband to them a few years ago and it figures, he loved them.
- Admiral Anika
Choco-lite or Good 'n Fruity. I found Good 'n Fruity the other day and it was NOT the same.

- B. Hatin
Whoops, forgot to mention Sixlets in my list...do they make those anymore?
- Cheryl Jones
HUGE 2 foot Pixxy Sticks - I gave those out a couple of years ago and the neighborhood was buzzing with kids hopped up on LOTS of that sugar!! ha, ha!! it was funny to see how many kids returned for 2nds!
- Susan Beebe
Definitely not the candy corn.....hmm....I think I liked suckers or any named brand stuff. Wasn't really much for the candy. I liked to go get it and then give it out at school. :)
- dafire
after reading more....yes, the reese's cups...anything with peanut butter nuttiness or peanuts! MMmmmmMMmmm....
- dafire
My grandparents gave us money so we could buy our own candy. That was good.
- Katy S
I gotta agree with Brandon on the Sixlets. Why is it you only can find them at Halloween? I also love Krackle!
- Miranda
The fun-sized SweetTarts with only 3 in the little package. Yummmm.
