brushed and flossed teeth are not equal to shaved pubes, pits and legs. the former is good hygiene, the latter is a matter of personal preference. BAD comparison. a somewhat disgusting one, at that.

Dave - nope, shaved pubes are not conducive to proper hygiene in either men or women. The hair is there for a reason - it's designed to add an additional barrier against other nastiness. Aesthetically speaking, I don't care much for Don King in a leglock, but I also don't care for adult women whose anatomy is striving for prepubescence. A happy medium is preferable. *shrug*

Now vijay...*chortling merrily*...the true beauty of the Brazilian is the other side - and *ahem* aesthetically speaking, imho, a woman's hind end should not resemble a man's. So at least there we're agreed. ;)

Dave, well, we can equate it with the "benefits" of circumcision in men - proper cleaning is key. If a woman fails to properly clean herself, then yes, there is a huge risk for bacteria - but that is true whether she's hair-free or not. Not so much with yeast, though, since that forms internally (and we all have it in our bodies). Another *huge* risk with shaving/waxing is the propensity for ingrown hairs.

*grin* & Dave, I suppose it could be worse - should we take a poll? Don King versus the ol' Willie Nelson tattoo image that circulated the Internet a few years back...? ;)

*grin* Had the same problem. Had to look at the full-size. My husband, however, spotted it instantly. D'oh!

of course, circumcision is totally different to shaving hairs off - for a start it'd be the equiv of cutting off a womans clitoris (since there are equal numbers of nerve ending in both the clit and the foreskin). I do worry at the claim on that site that "many women remove the hair from there when they become of age" while the men remain with nothing more than a trim to tidy the hedge....

*nod* When we're talking about circumcision, I consider it nothing more than genital mutilation - in either gender. However the medical community for years has tried to sell it as a hygienic matter. With my 1st son, I was too young/inexperienced to know better. With my 2nd son, my answer was NO WAY! Leave that foreskin alone! So far has hirsute-related health (*wink*) - I have a lot of...

Happens more often than you'd think. Sometimes the prize money is worth the humiliation! ;-)
