#BS1009 viruses are a potential "secondary tree of life" rather than having co-evolved or been produced from plasmids. To be honest I never realised people thought viruses originated from living cells (ie plasmids from bacteria) and was quite confident that they were a "contaminant" (i.e the thermodynamics of the early earths atmosphere cannot really produce an infinite number of sub-units or precursor molecules such as amino acids and nucleic acids, hence why convergent evolution is so widespread) nice to have somebody else feel the same way and get it published.
