I call that premium content and I'll be willing to pay for it. There is to much garbage and noise out there.

Marshall FTW! I agree totally. It's the only way to build your street cred.
- Bill Koslosky
Given this comment, who is also in Marshall's league, and who is not? We want names!
- Louis Gray
And Marshall, that's why I continue to read your work:-)

With blogs, readers now have the luxury of picking and choosing their reporters based on journalistic values. It not only gives the internet a competitive upper hand over newspapers, it creates a kind of free market system to journalists. If journalists want to succeed, the quality of journalism is a factor -- unless the reader is just looking for writers that agree with their views. I'm excited for the future of journalism.

"Make no mistake. We are selling off our future and the future of our children to prevent the bondholders of US financial corporations from taking losses. We are using public funds to protect bondholders of some of the most mismanaged companies in the history of capitalism, instead of allowing them to take losses that should have been their own."
Welcome to the financial idealism of the 20'th century
- Wizetux
Some of the bondholders are us. That is, pension funds and other institutions that purchase on behalf of many people. Just sayin'...
- Kevin Pedraja
John's always a pretty insightful guy and I'm afraid he's right on the mark with this one.

The GM bondholders are taking a huge haircut. They are getting 10% of the company in exchange for their $27 billion in bonds. The UAW is getting 40% in exchange for $10 billion. The gov't would get the remaining 50% for $10 billion in loan forgiveness.
- Brian Newman
The GM bond holders won't accept this deal.
- Thomas Hawk
What will GM bond holders do then Thomas?
- Brian Sullivan
True. They would get more if GM went through a true bankruptcy than if they accepted GM's restructuring plan so they have no reason to accept.
- Brian Newman
Aren't several banks trying to repay TARP money that the Government won't accept?
- Robert Hafer
GM bondholders will try to renegotiate to get a better deal. No way they get 90% of the current bondholders to support this existing deal though. If they can't they might just let it go into liquidation. Not sure they'd fare much better there though.
- Thomas Hawk
"We simply cannot make these bad investments whole unless we are willing to hand the next 10-20 years of U.S. private savings over to the bondholders who financed reckless lending. Those bondholders should, and ultimately must, take a portion of these losses, and debt obligations will have to be restructured. Wall Street has become a bunch of Tooter Turtles crying “Help, Mr. Wizard!”...

Although selling the future is what we do all the time - by polluting and encouraging companies to pollute and overuse the commons, by consuming non sustainably and encouraging companies to produce and work non sustainably, by letting rainforests and species disappear, by creating political instability when it suits our business interests. What's a bit of debt on top of that?

I'm a Brit, my wife's American. Regularly go back to see her folks (previously TN, now MS) and last went summer 2008. Was really looking forward to having some Krystal again, but... it wasn't as good as I remember. The Krystal/White Castle brand/culture is similar to the kebab experience in the UK. Just not quite as good IMO. ;)

"A team of scientists found that oleic acids from fats are converted into a memory-enhancing signals in the part of the brain responsible for remembering emotional events."

MODERATION.....yes even healthy stuff can kill....that's what it's all about, obtaining a balance between the crap and the good is better than any fad diet. And for god's sakes, stop listening to what "experts" and scientists have to say about food, it changes every hour it seems.
- Ⓐ ☠ slayerboy ☠ Ⓐ
Good to know that - since i had greasy MCD's for lunch!!! hahah
- Rex
I strongly disagree. First of all it depends on the Quantity and second on the Quality of the fats (unsaturated lipids have demonstrated benicial effects on healths) I would not suggest Junk foods for enhancing memory nor for cardio vascular prevenction
- Maurizio Salamone
I use the 10 year rule; if the "experts" say the same thing for 10 consecutive years, then I listen.
- Robert Hafer
Wow, if this is true I should have a memory like an elephant! But then again... wait... what was I saying???
- Christopher Brocious
"Seriously - you're going to come to my blog, not read the post thoroughly, and act like a douchenozzle? MetroPCS's website had the false advertising, not a sales guy. Their customer service people on the phone confirmed it. It's MetoPCS that let me down. RTFA before you act like a self-righteous moron. Not everyone lives and breathes mobile phone specs like you."
- Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins
MG - thanks for attending the press conference and for taking out time from your beat - your press pass is confirmed and the retina and DNA scheduling will be forthcoming.
- Allen Stern
Can I send samples of my blood via mail?
- Jesse Stay
Jesse - US laws prohibit the transfer of blood via the postal service - we will be using a Red Cross van across america to pick up blood samples from press people - be on the lookout for a schedule shortly.
- Allen Stern
Interesting idea. But there's no way I would put all of that valuable information in somebody else's website.
- TranceMist
Alternative: Regularly e-mail your beneficiaries an encrypted document containing a list of digital assets. Leave the archive password in a safe deposit box. Your bank will presumably be around longer than this start-up, and your fail-safe is the U.S. government. [Insert half-joke about government/banking stability here]
