My point of disagreement was specifically regarding your notion that podcasting, "failed to deliver." I disagree with that notion. Likely, I have a different measurement of what "delivering" is. What would an entirely new means of distributing audio and video -- a channel that did not exist a decade ago -- have to do to reach your bar of delivering? -- that's all I was trying to get at. Perhaps because podcasting was never fully centralized by Apple -- like video (YouTube) or photography (Flickr) -- the full breadth of its impact may not be brand-able. But the notion that it "failed to deliver" on the hype is opposite from I believe to be what happened. Another thing that may have caused me to chime in is this.
