ZL Technologies, an archiving vendor, is suing Gartner Group for $1.7 billion. It seems that ZL didn't like its position in Gartner's famous Magic Quadrant. In IT Blogwatch, bloggers mostly ridicule both parties -- and also at anyone who bases IT purchasing decisions on a Magic Quadrant.

i think this @googlewave.com email address is a temporary thing during testing. after it goes live you should be able to just use it with your google account. at least that's what i think:)

Was very interested in your comments about the difficulties surrounding the delivery of podcasts. So true.There's that tension between the ease of pushing a button to watch TV and find nothing on vs the tech effort and skill (for a lot of people,) to get Podcasts that serve niche interests. Yesterday a guy asked me to help him with his iPhone. I nearly collapsed with shock, he's only using it for contact management and phoning people. Not even a second page of Apps.

Depends on what the Fed does in response. If they don't drive up interest rates to put us in recession in order to reduce inflation, we could have true hyperinflation.

@alex: unless my head is on wrong, it seems to me hyperinflation is a situation in which those carrying debt* will do awesome. (* - that is, carrying debt from the prior, non-inflationary scenario into the hyperinflation scenario; not necessarily incurring NEW debt within the hyper-inflationary scenario.)

I wonder if @Mozy will think the file has changed if I create hard links to the exact same (respective) locations... I don't want to back up 100s of gigs of info after an upgrade. Anyone know?

Ran a test with Mozy. Moved a folder in the backup directory to another partition. Symlinked to that folder so the link is in the same place as the original. Mozy thinks it needs to back up the data so it gets encrypted, but during the send process decides that the files is unchanged.

Yes, that's my experience also: Mozy follows mounts, symlinks, junctions, and hardlinks. If the same file appears twice it only uploads it once.
