So the new year is next week and all of 3 have signed up for the Flickr pool....
Hmm...did people lose interest or are people just busy with the Xmas and New Year stuff?? In any case, I'll be writing up a post in the first week of the new year about the project with links to the Flickr group and the blog (that I still have yet to setup). Hopefully that will re spawn interest. If anyone else has a blog (or other means), feel free to spread the word and get more people involved and interested. - Justin Korn
@Justin: Sorta busy, but it's definitely on my mind. I'll blog about it later today because I want to commit to this. (I hope you'll publish your post first so I can see what you say and follow suit.) Oh yeah, welcome back! - Bryan Villarin
I just requested to join the Flickr group. I did lose track over the holidays, but am still interested. - Aaron Schaub
@Bryan - I probably won't post till the weekend. Like an introduction to the new year type of post with my plans and goals. Not sure exactly yet, but surely won't be till after the new year. - Justin Korn
@Justin: Nice. Here we go... :-) - Bryan Villarin
I'm down! Looking forward to it! - ricky montalvo

So I'm leaning towards something to do with Neighborhoods. I'm not sure how many neighborhoods everyone else has in their respective areas, but I'm assuming this could work to some level everywhere. The run down...
The project would be a 52 project (one image every week). I would visit a new neighborhood every month, re-visiting each neighborhood every week of that month. The name of the project would be something like "My Surrounding Neighborhoods" - that will keep it broad enough so if you don't have multiple neighborhoods, it still incompasses yours. How does that sound to everyone?? - Justin Korn
If neighborhoods == communities, I think that'd be cool. - Bryan Villarin
a neighborhood can be whatever you want it to be. - Justin Korn from IM
Sounds good, man. - Bryan Villarin
And output is intended to be? What are the thoughts on display? Will it be a constant addition? - ThePicMan
Output would be one picture a week (52 project). Haven't 'figured out the display yet...was thinking about setting up a new Tumblr or WordPress blog with everyone as a contributor, but what I'd REALLY like to to setup something like this: http://tokyo.polaroids.jp/ Just don't have time to figure out how to do it. Additions would be every week. We could either pick a day to make submissions or everyone can pick their own day of the week so we aren't all posting on the exact same day. - Justin Korn
Thoughts? - Justin Korn
Could also be a Flickr group w/restricted membership. - Tammy Green
Can you restrict a Flickr group to read only? I suppose you can. - ThePicMan
I came across this: http://tinyurl.com/5lkx8y Unfortunately the site was down. But we could certainly do a spin on the same concept. Maybe we do a combination of "Street Corners" and "Drive" (http://tinyurl.com/5nw6e4) in a particular neighborhood? - ricky montalvo
A Flickr group is a great idea. I was also thinking about setting up a WordPress or Tumblr blog that displays the last X # of post where X is the # of people involved in the project. - Justin Korn
I'd say a WP blog and we each have our own accounts. An author page for each photographer and a deadline to sign up. - Bryan Villarin
I'll set something up on my server (unless anyone else wants to take charge). Please send me any links to some awesome themes (ones I don't have to mess with much) - Justin Korn
Are we assuming everyone works or has worked w/ WP? I'm a Typepad man myself, but currently us WP as a contributor to the Moleskine City blog. Just wanted to make sure everyone is WP savvy. Flickr is just as easy, but then again, I work for Yahoo. - ricky montalvo
I'm thinking there will be a Flickr group setup ontop of the blog. I don't think WP is too hard to figure out for those that have not used it before...but if you are scared of WP, do speak up :) - Justin Korn from IM

Project Idea - Public Restrooms

Yeah. Gross theme, but photos of these spaces can be pretty interesting. - Jeremy Brooks
Agreed, somewhat creepy, but think of both the daytime/nighttime contrast potential. I would be up for this. - ricky montalvo

Project Idea - Neighborhoods
I like this one as each neighborhood is different and seen differently through all of us. - ricky montalvo
this is my favorite and one that I would do on my own. But if others don't have distinct neightborhoods in their location, I don't want to exclude them - Justin Korn from IM
How would this work as a My World/Your World? My Chinatown/Your Chinatown? My Little Italy/Your Little Italy? I live in Chicago so I'd have an easy time of it, but not sure about others. Perhaps if it weren't based on ethnicity...things like The City Limit, Our water supply, The Police Dept...stuff that's in every town. My Main Street/Your Main Street. - Tammy Green
Tammy - I like where your thoughts and ideas are going here. - Justin Korn
I'm about out of ideas for my neighborhood (Richmond). That's been my theme for the 2008 Challenge from photochallenge.org. But something more generalized -- "A Neighborhood" as opposed to "My Neighborhood" would be fun. I like the idea of Chinatown/Little Italy/etc. - Jeremy Brooks

Project Idea - People at Work
I like this idea in only that I envision these "sterile" environments with old florescent lights etc. - ricky montalvo
The folks over at diyphotography.net had a similar project called "Shoot the Team". That was a project I thought would be fun. See more at the link: http://www.diyphotography.net/taxonom... - Aaron Schaub
