I'm not sure I'd actually want to see this really hit the market, at least not in my home. I'd prefer keeping the web where it is, and TV where it is, or maybe bring more TV to the web. I feel this way because of the amount distractions that the web carries around versus the amount of distractions on TV. There's way more on the web. It might make my TV watching experience seem too...busy? cluttered? complicated?

@corvida doesn't this go against the general trend of convergence. I forget where I heard the quote, but it goes along the line of the delivery system being unimportant and for non tech users, they will indeed not even know how content is getting to them, it just does.

@corvida - I'm sure the implementator would not force the widget into a popup advertisement experience ala the common web. Information overload is optional.
