I'm a generation-Y'er who uses analytics for almost everything - mint.com and rescuetime.com are two of my favorites. I think what's most important to recognize here is that people want data so that they can do their own historical analysis, tracking, forecasting and goal setting. It's theoretical management, rather than physical movement of funds etc. Banks just aren't offering the kind of analysis tools that you get with services like mint yet. But could they even if they wanted to? You're right to point out that people will increasingly demand these types of services from banks in the future, but the number of services like mint will only grow because so many of us use multiple financial vehicles as we age (401K, Roth RIAs, Mutual funds, trusts, banks, credit cards etc). Unless a bank can do everything and give someone the big picture of a customer's total financial situation, should they even pursue developing the technology at all, or should they embrace what's going on in the cloud and push services li - Steffan Antonas from FriendFeed MT Plugin
