Real-time search. We have it. It's here. - http://blog.friendfeed.com/2009...
realtimesearch2.png
Try http://friendfeed.com/search... It's also fun to watch the embedded search on the blog blog post (http://friendfeed.com/search...). You can see people discussing the blog post, from the blog post, in real time! - Paul Buchheit
coooool - zsafwan 
GREAT ! - Stanislas Jourdan
Eeee. Awesome. - Mark Trapp from iPhone
Impressive! Now you can save real time searches as embeddable widgets. That's just awesome! This is a massively POWERFUL feature. Thank you FF team! - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
Lol, you flipped the switch before the post came out as far as I can tell. I was searching for it and I couldn't see it. - Daniel J. Pritchett
Yowsa. Makes quick easy work out of social media monitoring, don't it? - Ian Wilker
YAY!!! FriendFeed staff rocks, that's all there is to it =) - FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Congrats Paul to you and your team! Another one bites the dust! - Jorge Escobar
WAAAAAAAAA.. meta real time search.. love the concept of embed a real-time search !! Way to Team FF -- luv u guys !! :)- - Peter Dawson
Do you guys sleep? Honestly, love the constant output and attention you guys pay to user feedback. I know this highly requested and probably not easy to implement. - Frankie Warren
Twitter Killer! - David Schmidt
Thanks so much Paul & Co. Excellent work! - Leo Laporte
hey love they way they launched search.. espcially when its close to "Search Marketing Day 2009" !1 - Peter Dawson
Thanks Leo. Jim and Gary did most of the work on this one though. - Paul Buchheit
Track is back! This is a gamechanger. - Mike Doeff from iPhone
Track is back! - Christian Burns from iPhone
Excellent news. - LPH™ and his dog P™ from BuddyFeed
I think I'm going to scream if I hear "track" again - someone please define it for me - Jesse Stay
Wow, great work! - Meryn Stol
I stand in awe of your hackfullness. - Ted Gilchrist
Good work. Much-anticipated. - Louis Gray
@Jesse: It's a dead twitter command "track keyword" sends you realtime updates whenever the word is used. Think of it like realtime google alerts for friendfeed. - Daniel J. Pritchett
I'm pretty sure Gillmor et al kept calling it "track" because that's what Twitter called it back when they had it for a week. - Daniel J. Pritchett
On a related note, live embeddable searches mean that I can hack together my own FF embeds for the pages that don't have them yet, like say "comment:dpritchett" http://friendfeed.com/search... - Daniel J. Pritchett
Daniel, Twitter never had this - this isn't "track" - Jesse Stay
you guys rock. - Karoli
...wowsers! Very nice! - JA Castillo
The blogpost said they're working to implement "keyword notifications" Jesse, that will be "track" - Frankie Warren
Twitter's brought back track, it's just no one cares. You can now have updates by keyword on Twitter pushed to you, via XMPP, just like track used to. Gillmor says that's not track. - Jesse Stay
That's why I hate the term "track" - no one knows what it is. The way Paul is explaining it, as real-time search, is a much better way of explaining it. - Jesse Stay
I guess we're still missing the realtime notifications piece that folks want. You can shape the firehose to watch terms in realtime but you can't yet get it pushed outside of FF via email or IM? - Daniel J. Pritchett
Daniel, Twitter has that right now, but Gillmor says that's not track - Jesse Stay
/me prints up a few hundred "That's not track!" t-shirts - Daniel J. Pritchett
Killer feature. I'm watching news about Honduras scrolling by. Very useful. - Chris Baskind
Jesse: Oh, i'm with you... Real-Time Search is a better term :) - Frankie Warren
BTW, integrating this into my blog right now - Jesse Stay
Me too Jesse. Making a new static page for that comment:dpritchett search I mentioned - Daniel J. Pritchett
this is definitely cool and all, but what about API? We are falling way behind on feature sets :) - Tim Hoeck
It's like an alternative to watching TV, in a literary sort of way. - Ted Gilchrist
awesome!:) - m.0
kewl! - phil baumann
Yay! This is the killer feature (once it's in the API, of course ;) - Brandon Titus
I'd love to see a blog post about how this is implemented. Real-time search has some interesting problems. - Chris Lamprecht
I take it back - I can't integrate this into my blog until I can filter it to a single list. I really need an embed for "comment:dpritchett list:e20" except lists are still virtual in that no one other than me can see them unless I use the atom export. - Daniel J. Pritchett
Awesomeness! I'm loving this right now. - Anthony K. Valley ©
Wow you guys rock! - Alfredo
I am sloooooooooooow. But what/where is the template to make the embeddable widget. please? - Marg Uerite
You're right Jesse - it's not exactly Track but it's getting a lot closer. The old Twitter Track allowed you to set up multiple search terms (e.g. track iphone) and get those delivered to your IM with zero time lag. At any time you could type "track" to see what you're currently tracking and "untrack" to untrack something - e.g. "untrack iphone". There are some third party tools that... more... - Mike Doeff
Paul, is there a way to change the title of the embed? The long search string looks kinda bad. - Jesse Stay
Mike, Twitter offers that today. Gillmor says it's not Track. - Jesse Stay
Marg, after you do a search, click the "Share / embed search" link to get the embed code. - Dan Hsiao
Jesse, are you sure? Can you provide a URL describing this feature? I think you're referring to Twitter Search (and saved searches) which is totally different. - Mike Doeff
Mike, it's in beta and available to developers, but it's back, minus SMS support: http://staynalive.com/article... - Jesse Stay
Jesse, when / where did Gillmor say that isn't track? I'm pretty sure that Steve just wants the old track brought back, with some filtering capabilities added (the old Track didn't filter out blocked accounts). - Mike Doeff
Yay! Have been eagerly awaiting this. :) - Rick Turoczy
Mike, he's said in various comments. Looks like Track to me... Heck, it's even called "track". - Jesse Stay
BTW this is on staynalive.com now (look in the sidebar): http://staynalive.com/ - Jesse Stay
for my italian friends: stica... - Alberto D'Ottavi from fftogo
Jesse - you can hide the ugly search bar with a little quick CSS - it's <h1> under an easily identified class. - Daniel J. Pritchett from IM
Daniel, good idea - I'd love to change the title more than that though. - Jesse Stay
just a few minutes work and I have a FriendFeed realtime search embedded in a blog http://www.amsterdam20.nl (web 2.0 event) - Jeroen De Miranda
FF guys: we like your style :) --- way to go!! - Harscoat
I think I'm going to cry - Bwana ☠
awesomesauce! - Simon Wicks
This is a really great innovation, congrats friendfeed team! - Garin Kilpatrick
Thanks, Jim and Gary! Lots of hard work for a very cool result! - Anne Bouey
HhhhhUuuuuuGggggEeeee !!! - Harold Cabezas
I want to 'Like' this *twice*! many thanks! - topo
The first step in a storystreaming platform! - Kevin Sablan
Whoa. Wow. And Yes! Fantastic work, FF team. - Micah Wittman
Good stuff although should support negative operators such as I should able to search my name in the all posts NOT coming from me. I've tried "from:-username" but it doesn't seem to work. - Ferruh Mavituna
OK, you guys are wicked talented! It's kind of scary, but I love it. So what's next? Just kidding:) - Michael Fidler
Ferruh: you just have it a bit backwards... try -from:username instead :) - Ross Miller
WOOOOOOOOOOW. Friendfeed is really pushing some cool features out :). Friendfeed is the best :) - alfred westerveld
How can we embed FriendFeed search? - Mike Reynolds
Mike - There's a link at the top of the search just beneath the red bar. - Mitch
A box will pop up, take the HTML code from the bottom of that box. - Mitch
Thanks Mitch! - Mike Reynolds
Nice the embedding code can be dynamic.... <iframe src="http://friendfeed.com/search..." frameborder="0" height="600" width="400" style="border:1px solid #aaa"></iframe> - Mike Reynolds
Thanks @Ross it works fine now, love the RSS output. - Ferruh Mavituna
tabbr likes this - tabbr
Woo! So: will this cause a FF server meltdown anytime soon? - Tim Tyler
very good! - standin
Highly addictive--great stuff! I did notice that if you do a search like [google] you'll see dupe stories streaming by quite a bit (e.g. the TechCrunch story about Google Voice shows up over and over right now). Not sure if it's possible to de-dupe based on destination url a little bit more? - Matt Cutts
two months after redesign, we have access to real-time search. good news bc my preferred search engine is friendfeed. ;) - 'Like' robot (frɐnc)
We are there, in the battle against Twitter - Michael_techie
Best search engine became better :) - Chirag Chamoli
I can't say enough how amazing this is. So, I ordered a bottle of real-time translation to go with this magnificent feast of real-time search :D http://friendfeed.com/friendf... - Micah Wittman
Just to show what is possible now with this feature, I've built SteroidFeed: Go here to see it as well as download the files: http://friendfeed.com/lph... Latest version is 1.01. - LPH™ and his dog P™
It's amazing! - Lizunlong
I've been waiting for this since the new UI, excellent, thank you Paul and FF! I'll give this a play later. :-) - Kol Tregaskes
Micah, really looking forward to having your scripts work in Chrome. :-) - Kol Tregaskes
This is great. Well done, guys. - James Myatt
Awesome :D - Praveen Vasudev

Office 2010 Screenshots Preview What's to Come
Wow. It took me a moment to even understand what application I was looking at. - Kevin Fox from Bookmarklet
Fills me with dread. - Stephen Mack
all the buttons at the top are so funny, it's like a puzzle ! - Jeremy
FriendFeed 2010? :-) - Brian Johns
Not if I'm around. - Kevin Fox
It's probably deliberate that they're de-emphasizing the application. That megatoolbar looks ugly and jarring, but you can see what they're trying to do, right? Okay, "Translate / Translate", "Zoom / Zoom", and "Send to OneNote / OneNote" are just silly, but I bet that can be fixed. The idea of having actions categorized, with a few popular actions promoted out of each category, doesn't seem like a totally unreasonable approach to managing toolbar/menu complexity. - ⓞnor
yeah, i'm sorry but that just looks awful. does. not. keep. it. simple. - MG Siegler
To be sure, the "Actions" category is lame -- isn't everything here an "action"? (Certainly "delete" and "reply" seem like actions to me.) In fact their whole categorization scheme is rather suspect -- "OneNote" is a category, really? Isn't that an app? But somewhere under there is a designer trying hard to make sense of an incredibly complex set of features. At a guess, they've built a pluggable system so that functionality can actually float around from app to app but retain some coherence. - ⓞnor
But at a higher level, the whole thing feels like rearranging deck chairs. The whole model of applications with a document view and a vast menu of commands that operate on the document feels old and strained, compared to a more web-type UI where the affordances are integrated directly into the view. - ⓞnor
Only 25% of the window is devoted the most important content. I looks like a ****ing mess to me. The vast majority of the visible buttons will not be used by most users. - Paul Grav
Did anybody notice voice to text conversion of voicemail? That is super cool! Now, voicemails can be indexed too! - Jigar Mehta
I'm pretty happy with the voicemail-to-trash conversion of my current system though. - Jim Norris
I find it disgustingly ugly, but personal taste is rarely a good measure of usability. One thing, though. What about people who don't like clicking, but instead use chains of alt->something->something for commonly used commands? I kind of missed Office 2007 completely - is that option still around? - Goran Zec
Wow. It looks like someone forgot to include a CSS file or something. Yes, there's a lot of functionality, but it's exacerbated by what I can only describe as a lack of design.. - Jonathan Terleski
Yikes, that's butt ugly. I'm not sure I'd have any idea where to start to get anything done. Somehow I don't think my mom will either. - Joel Webber
Why why are are all all the the menus menus duplicated duplicated?? - Steve "Daddy do it!" Lacy
I like the "voicemail-to-trash" conversion feature :) Also, will Google Voice + Gmail deliver all those features? - Jérôme Flipo
I imagine that everyone on the Google Docs team is secretly rooting for this particular product manager's vision of Office 2010 to come to fruition. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) - DeWitt Clinton
This is a caricature of an actual application. It tugs hard at my uncanny valley receptors. - moo. bye.
This hurts my eyes. Can't they add another 100 buttons/controls/widgets? Surely there's something else buried in nested menus just begging to come out and play - John Koetsier
The Ribbon in 2007 is stunning. I trust them to get it right with Outlook. - Jamie
who signs off on this crap? - Tsega Dinka
and you thought Office 2007 was bad? - Yann Abraham
Outlook sidebar will look like Mail.app a lot - Ivy /composmentis
On the bright side, even though there is realively little space left for the actual content compared to the 2003 (pre-ribbon) version, they didn't take about 60% of the screen width and fill it with grey "whitespace" like... oh, nm. - Jim Espinoza
A salutory lesson in how to make a crap product even crapper. Why does anyone bother. 2007 was just astounding for its awfulness, now the MS PR is trying to make us believe they surveyed customers for feedback. I want to find the person they 'surveyed' and give them a good talking to. - David Eedle
I'm just getting used to Office 2007 :-/ - Amit Morson
You have to understand these poor guys at Microsoft: it's getting a lot harder to slow our new laptops down to a crawl. - saccades
We're still on 2003 here and I don't particularly like that, but this seems like some sort of unfinished web interface. That ribbon thingy uip there seems like a waste of space. - Johan Mellberg from twhirl
I really think the interface is somehow broken. The ribbon was OK in 2007. This screen has 0 interface improvements. - Andy Gongea
the UI is awful - timepilot
Do you suppose the 'softies put any effort into improving Outlook's pathetic support for IMAP? Or did they focus exclusively on pointless eye candy? - Pat Rice
So glad I have not had to use Outlook in years. This preview reminds me of how bad the interface design was and they have only added more brightly colored icons and options for 2010. Feature bloat? - Jackson
Voicemail will only be part of MS Office how many years after the prevalence of VOIP? - coldbrew
OK, Way Way too busy. - Marcus Beagley
Microsoft, as much as I dislike many of their products, is well-funded and has a team of very skilled user interface testers and designers. There's no way something like this could come out of there. Thus, I conclude that these are either forgeries designed to look bad, or one of the designer's children got hold of a template library and these got accidentally released. - Mistletoe Glen
OTOH, OOo's interface is also rather awful, but in a different way. - 9000
Every day I am teased by the Microsoft FTE's who get access to the dogfood versions. - Sean Oliver
Bret Taylor
We updated the FriendFeed Beta navigation and sidebar based on people's feedback: http://beta.friendfeed.com/
Picture 2.png
We have separated Groups (the new name for "Rooms") into its own section, and we have renamed "filters" to "Saved searches" to make things simpler/clearer. Saved searches have simper URLs that can be shared, and friend list operations have all been added/cleaned up. - Bret Taylor
Nice - looks much cleaner. - Robin Barooah
Nice, better navigation - Nimaa
Our primary goal was making Groups more useful again. The friend search / group search functionality is now separate and much easier to use. - Bret Taylor
excellent, much clearer - Don Bonaddio
So the "Top Friends" option that used to be showing is now gone. Works fine. - Louis Gray
That works awesome with the "group" I just put together consisting of all my rss feeds from google reader. - James Ostheimer
I like this change. Also, I apparently like boats. - Ana
I dunno, it's possible to be an enthusiast but not like something. - Casey Muller
Thank you! - BEX
Thank you I love the new navigation. - Russ Jackson
We have also added Atom feeds, Block, and a number of other small missing components. - Bret Taylor
Organization is a good thing. Thanks and keep it coming. The subtle stuff will come. Color customization, etc. I think the main think is make it look dead easy, with the advanced user stuff just a little symbol or click away... - kilbuda
Much better! - Andrew
Thanks !!! - Eric Logan
i like being able to statically set the groups it shows me on the side now. - rob friedman
Very cool. Much simpler. Any chance of being able to rearrange the blocks a la iGoogle in the future? Saved Searches were mighty convenient up at the top. - Mark Trapp
Yes, rearranging and theming are both things we would like to do. - Bret Taylor
I wondered what happened ! - LPH™ and his dog P™
Theming? Whoa. - Mark Trapp
Like Mark Trapp's idea. - kilbuda
+++ Thanks! - .LAG liked that
@Rob, you still can set the groups that show up by clicking on "prefs" in the orange bar. - Ana
Where did the create feed/imaginary friend substitute function go? - Brian Sullivan
@Ana, I just said I liked it. :) I didn't see the ability to change what was shown there prior to this change. It just seemed like a random sampling of the groups I'm on before. - rob friedman
Excellent. Very glad to see the "Browse/edit friends" link. I look forward to being able to rearrange to put my saved searches at the top. - Elizabeth
Nice, but I use filters (well, now saved searches) more than I do my friend lists. Personally I prefer it the way it was, although I'd be happy just to have filters bumped up some (I got a _lot_ of lists to scroll past). - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
@Brian, I dont think the imaginary friend stuff is in the beta interface yet, I had to use the old UI to add a few yesterday. - rob friedman
I like the new separation much more than old layout. Being able to rearrange placement of these blocks would be nice but not essential. - Boris Gordon
Better, but you really gotta do something about that color scheme. - mike fabio
Great work! Would be really nice to get the last modified time back next to the title of the groups. That saved me a lot of unnecessary clicks in the non-beta version. - Christoph Studer
Boris: Not essential, that's true, but extremely useful. - Chris, Taskerrific Guy
rob friendman -- I am talking about the create a feed function that allowed you to create the equivalent of imaginary friends. - Brian Sullivan
I still think that the "My discussions" link under Friends should really be "My likes and comments", since there are some posts in that feed that are just ones I "liked" and have 0 comments, from me or anyone else. Would you call a post with no comments a "discussion"? - Nathan Chase
Nathan: you are right, those should probably not be in that feed. - Bret Taylor
We are still working out imaginary friends functionality. It is on our radar. - Bret Taylor
Nice. An improvement in my book. - AJ Kohn
I like it. Now give us skins so we can change the color scheme. I also wish I could put searches at top. - Robert Scoble
Bret: cool - just a little semantic thing I figured you might have overlooked - and something that could be confusing for new users. - Nathan Chase
Bret, you guys have moved the filters to the bottom of the sidebar. Can you please put them back to where they were? - Kol Tregaskes
I like separate groups. As for positioning - it would be easy to make the boxes draggable, so people can order them how they like? - Neil Saunders
anyway i can switch my account totally over to the beta UI? so any ff link i click on goes to the beta....thx - patrick
let me choose the sequence of the boxes - like "saved searches" on top! - Kishore Balakrishnan
Agreed a nice dark skin would be awesome - Kashif Khan
Can we have the "last modified time" back for each individual group? Anyway, this navigation is much better. Thanks! - Winston Teo
agree with Neil Saunders - پـرستووو
Still wish there was a way to hide the top and side bars for use in a widget style browser window. Till then there's always greasemonkey http://is.gd/rBrh - KyleHase from twhirl
Thanks, Bret. You guys -- FF team and product -- are awesome! - Eric Johnson
Thank you Thank you Thank you! Loving the beta and the FFteam's responsiveness - Keith - @tsudo
Why is this showing up in my timeline? It says because one of the people I'm subscribed to Liked it. I'm not a member of the room and I'm not subscribed to the original poster (Sorry Bret!) But I swear I've turned off FoaF every day and this keeps happening. - Paul Reynolds
Its enuf, men, give me more updated info plz. - kelvin from IM
We have more consistent terminology now; good. Now can we have more sophisticated feed-composition tools? How about one-touch "create group from saved search"? And how about fixing the "private group - standard FEED - public group" inconsistency? - Karl Knechtel
I don't think we need full skinning capabilities - just a colour chooser for each coloured element. Also, the prefs link for Groups is a bit ugly. I don't like magically appearing links. - Karl Knechtel
Overall, big improvements, guys. :) - Karl Knechtel
@patrick: every element of the beta UI should have a beta URL already. Any links that you click in posts are whatever URL is actually specified in the post. - Karl Knechtel
Bret, this is great news. I'll leave the cosmetics to better people. I like things as is :) - Deepak Singh
@Paul Reynolds: FoaF can be turned off? - Karl Knechtel
We just pushed a fix for IE 7/8. If you were using IE, you should refresh. Sorry for the problems. - Bret Taylor
Nice improvements, FF team. - Micah Wittman
Yes! Thank You! You guys are awesome! - Alfredo
I love it - especially the filters at the bottom (I use Lists, more often). That said, I like Kishore's suggestion -> let us choose the ordering of the boxes. - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick
Very good improvement, but would like to have another box of favorite friends. I wouldn't mind if I could set this up like the groups box, or if it would just remember who I clicked on the most. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Simpler... When is the mobile version coming out? - Brian Kenyon
Well done. - Steven Perez
Bret: theming? Please elaborate! - Ryan Miller
Thank you! - Kemal Hadimli
It is awesome Bret! - Akira Kojima Simpson from twhirl
I would really appreciate if we could drag and drop items and boxes. I want to order all this. - Stanislas Jourdan
While the new sidebar order is good, I'm having fun getting rid of two saved searches which only bring up an "edit new filter/search page. It'd be nice to have some way to edit/delete searches, like with the groups and friends boxes. Still waiting for someone to give me a tip on how to remove those two links from the list otherwise. - George Hall (Australia)
George: Click the "Saved Searches" title, then select the feed from the left-hand side, then click Delete. - Karl Knechtel
much better! - Dobromir Hadzhiev
like it! only thing i don't like is that i have to scroll down everytime i wanna see my saves searches now... - Peter Efland
Peter, yep to me that's in completely the wrong place. It's the second most important new feature on FF (behind real-time) and it's now "hidden" at the bottom. I have a large list of Groups and means big scroll down to the Saved Searches, which I use a LOT. Please either return them back to the second tab down or give us the option to select what sidebars we have and what order they appear on the bar? - Kol Tregaskes
Bret, this is great, especially being able to see all of my groups. But I agree with just about everyone else, I'd prefer to have my saved searches above groups. There is still enough room to add subscriptions as well . . . maybe?? - Chris Loft
Nice change. Please sort out the color palette next :-) - Alex Gawley
I like it, although the name filter was better, I think. Besides putting the Searches under Friends, it would be good if the Groups would change order in relation to recent activity, like it used to be. - Alejandro
I like the way things are separated, now. However, I too have a lot of lists to scroll past to get to groups and saved searches. It would be nice to move the saved searches and groups above the lists. Definitely loving the beta, though! - Seth Greenblatt
Hmmm.... I still cannot edit a list created from the "likes" of my friends. The UI doesn't allow me to manage the friend list. I cannot tell the likes to which I'm subscribed or add/remove others. - Anthony K. Valley ©
much better now - Mahsa Z
A number of feeds I set up are showing as Groups. Is that right? I set up a number of Twitter feeds (e.g. "Twitter - Al Yankovic") for nonFF Tweeters. It's a little confusing since now they're listed as a Group when their settings are "Standard Feed". - CAJ, somewhere else
I guess feeds that aren't individuals are groups :-) - Neil Saunders
Alan has a point. - Ahsan Ali aka. Slick
separate groups section is good. now about labelling content sources rather than people... (would be nice to have this at least as an option: show user avatar OR show content source - then those of us who read by content are happy, and those who read by user are happy) - Richard Akerman
Alejandro, I first thought I'd miss "filter" but actually prefer "saved searches" now. Well because they are, aren't they? Makes things easier to understand. ;-) - Kol Tregaskes
good point Kol - Alejandro
Voice chat in groups could be nice :) - Nir Ben Yona
Thank you! - Iván Abrego
I use filters a lot and now on the HP Mini I have to scroll down the window to get to the next filter I want to check which then scrolls the page back up to the top after picking it. I have nine filters that I check probably once an hour. The page scrolling is tedious to go through. Is there a way you could move Filters up above Groups either manually or automatically based on most common use? - Loren Heiny
Thank you! Navigating to groups/rooms was a pain. - amygeek
Nice Job, I like it. It feels simpler and will be welcoming to new users. - Poor Gamer
I also don't care for the name change at the top of the "Search results." The name of the search was better at least for how I use it. I can see the actual search criteria in the seach box. I don't need it in both places. Plus, when I'm clicking through a list of saved searches one at a time I often forget where I am in the list. The title helped me keep track. - Loren Heiny
Kewl! - Charlie Anzman
Love it. Thank you guys very much! - Josh Haley
"Atom feeds" are not a "small missing components"!!! :) .. as on abay +++++AAAA+++AAAA for beta.FriendFeed - CantorJF
Just noticed the new groups sidebar. Thank you! - Carmen
Seems like the green box should be titled "Friend Lists" (in an actual Friends list, I'd expect to see Joe, Mary, Bob, etc. -- right now, there's a pretty big disconnect btw typical user expectations and what's appearing in that box). And maybe the browse/edit should then be titled "Browse/edit friend lists". - Christopher Galtenberg
Even more unexpected is that when I click on Friends, I also see Groups. There should probably be another split, so we have Lists, Friends, and Groups. Bret, you guys are going to run out of colors soon! :) - Daniel Sims
And would you *please* give us custom backgrounds and colors? - Gaby K. Slezák
Karl: tried it, but it only brings up a new filter again. If one could edit one's "saved searches list by the NAME of the filter, it'd be easy to delete it. But your suggestion didn't bring up anything that could help me get rid of the two empty filters. Neither has a delete button. - George Hall (Australia)
Ana is a boat enthusiast? - Benjamin Golub
Karl:don't know whether my desktop wasn't showing the left-side bar, but late last night, I was looking at a list of my saved searches with the delete button active for all things in the list. Finally got rid of those two items that were only bringing up a search/filter page. That left-side bar with all listed searches is an elegant solution. - George Hall (Australia)
Dont like it. No longer can get Twit Conversations to show up in Groups.. only in Home even if I add it to Groups! - Greg

yes Paul Buchheit will be on Gilmor Gang at 4PM Pacific streamed on Twit.TV live - Steve Gillmor
I can barely hear what Leo is saying. - Dave Winer
Leo's spent the last few days trying to recover from a tricaster failure and has been tweaking levels on different services, getting resolutions reset on feeds, etc. The ustream feed seems to have the best audio at the moment: http://www.ustream.tv/channel... - Ken Sheppardson
50min till Gillmor Gang right? - Wo
Cris: yes - Ken Sheppardson
Thanks Ken. This real time thing is pretty neat! - Wo
Paul Buchheit, Mike Arrington, Scoble, Dan Farber, Andrew Keen, and Kevin Marks. - Ken Sheppardson
Mike says he's writing an article right now: "FriendFeed is in danger of becoming the coolest app no one uses" - Ken Sheppardson
Mike sorta declares FF missed the boat and won't be able to overcome Twitter's lead/network effects. Paul's trying to defend the fact that they can/should be more than one company in the space. - Ken Sheppardson
I disagree with Arrington - Bwana ☠
Yeah, I don't think it's going to be a short term shift en masse to FriendFeed - Ken Sheppardson
Has Andrew used the beta? - Ken Sheppardson
Andrew seems like he doesn't understand the beta. - Thomas Hawk
Talking heads are mentioning Twitter because it is a fad - Bwana ☠
the idea of twitter storing my images and video on their site gives me the willies. - Karoli
Half of them don't even know what they're saying - Bwana ☠
I wish they'd stop talking about twitter... - Adnan
yeah it seems like some of the people on the call really don't understand how the new FriendFeed even really works. - Thomas Hawk
I just brought my friends timeline into Friendfeed as a custom RSS feed. - Karoli
Bwana: Yeah, this is a whole lot more about how the standard market dynamics stuff than what FriendFeed's done - Ken Sheppardson
I thought this was going to be a "Twitter free" edition...I guess I was wrong. - Ahmed
I can't understand some of these guys because they are talking over each other. - Molly, "sorry"
Ahmed: You can't really talk about FriendFeed after today without also talking about Twitter and Facebook. - Ken Sheppardson
Hey, yeah... let's talk to Paul about this... - Ken Sheppardson
Chris: They have to go through the usual suspects before they can settle in and talk about FriendFeed :-) - Ken Sheppardson
Chris, don't take it personally. - Kevin Fox
live updating on the new beta really works well for this type of back channel. - Thomas Hawk
Ken : True... - Ahmed
This realtime discussion is amazing... instant realtime chat room! - Adnan
Mike is missing the standards conversation - Kevin Marks
Thomas, it's great. I did turn off the replies to Twitter feature though... - Karoli
Live blogging events pretty much changed overnight. - Ken Sheppardson
I'd love to ask Paul, will there be any chance to give people the choice for run-Time instead of forcing it onto people. That's what I didn't like. Leave it an option. - Molly, "sorry"
That's actually a really good point: "Celebrities aren't coming to Twitter for conversation." - Kevin Fox
Thomas: opening up an entry page (this one for instance: http://beta.friendfeed.com/stevegi...) works really well in the beta. It's like a chat room :) - Benjamin Golub
I agree with Paul, personally I'm not interested in celebrities and Twitter has very little appeal for me. I'm far more interested in interesting tech and photography and for that FF is far more interesting a place. - Thomas Hawk
Molly, just hit pause and manually refresh - Karoli
Neither is Steve Gillmor, for that matter. - Kent
Benjamin: Only little kink is the page doesn't scroll to keep up. The convo keeps walking off the bottom of the screen. - Ken Sheppardson
If I post a comment, does it leave the post input open and focused? No. :( - Michael Leggett
Are the comments to this post from Steve just an analog to an IRC chat? Looks darned familiar! - Calgary Guru
I love FF over Twitter. - Molly, "sorry"
Michael: It does if you're on a single-item page. - Kevin Fox
Calgary: Absolutly, but it's persistent, searchable, linkable... - Ken Sheppardson
RT is great for these fast-moving conversations, but if only the comment button was down at the bottom. - j1m
Michael: when on an entry page (http://beta.friendfeed.com/stevegi...) if you post a comment it immediately refocuses the comment box. Edit: Kevin beat me! - Benjamin Golub
It makes it pretty much a group IM chat. - Kevin Fox
yeah this is nice. - MG Siegler
...and when I see somebody say something interesting here, I can jump off an link to everything they've ever written. - Ken Sheppardson
J1m if you click the link and come into this post only, the comment button is at the bottom. - Simon Wicks
Facebook. ugh. - Karoli
Can I go slap Mike Arrington? - Molly, "sorry"
Molly, get in line behind me. - Karoli
Molly: Ask Kevin to. - Ken Sheppardson
FriendFeed pro tip: once on an entry page (http://beta.friendfeed.com/stevegi...) click on the entry timestamp again :) - Benjamin Golub
Mike was pretty hilarious at the FF demo on Friday. He was wandering around the office looking at whiteboards and stuff... - Ken Sheppardson
Why should I use FriendFeed when I'm happy on Twitter? <-- Use Twitter. Duh. - Bwana ☠
Facebook's UGI is crap now, but I still use it. :) - Molly, "sorry"
Benjamin: That's sweet! - Sam Grover
Thanks Benjamin - Phil Maxwell
oops UI not UGI - Molly, "sorry"
I like the way these comments are turning into an irc room - Kevin Marks
Twitter is a broadcasting channel now. The real exchange of ideas is going to be here. - Ken Sheppardson
FriendFeed has photos, Twitter does not, I think that's huge right there and very disruptive. - Thomas Hawk
oh, that's very cool Benjamin - Karoli
FF is good for the conversation. - Molly, "sorry"
I think with the feedback FF is getting, they will improve their UI. - Molly, "sorry"
Friendfeed is pretty cool with the update. - Paul L. McCord Jr.
It's lots of things. It's adaptable. It's sorta infinitely extensible. The trick is making it simple at the same time. - Ken Sheppardson
Paul seems like a really understanding person. - Molly, "sorry"
The comment box needs to be above the comment stream so it doesn't get pushed of the bottom of the window if a couple of people post comments while you're typing. - Phil Maxwell
Kevin: Ask what FF's runway looks like, will ya? - Ken Sheppardson
Can't wait to hear it. When will it post to the web. - Tom Parish
I am not giving Twitter or Facebook my content. They keep it - Karoli
It would be interesting to pick any two: FriendFeed, Facebook, or Twitter, and assign those two arbitrary user counts where one had 10x the other, and then try to make the argument of how the underdog was doomed, or would eclipse the larger site. - Kevin Fox
I can't understand why it's always a choice between FriendFeed or Twitter and not a choice between Facebook or Twitter. Boggles my mind - Bwana ☠
When FriendFeed will tip: When people get sick of duplicating themselves across FB, Twitter, Flickr, Disqus, BackType, etc. - Karoli
There are tautological arguments. Twitter is superior to Friendfeed because it's simple, but Facebook is superior to Twitter because it has more functionality. - Kevin Fox
I don't think a direct 1-to-1 comparison of users is fair. Does a twitter user have the same value as a FF user under all the possible monitization schemes you can imagine? - Ken Sheppardson
*sarcastic tone* Yeah get Paul off the line so we can trash FF. *rolls eyes* - Molly, "sorry"
FF is far superior to either for two simple reasons. 1. It's far better for conversations. 2. Visual representation is significant and in many ways can be more relevant than text alone. - Thomas Hawk
I prefer friendfeed over twitter because it allows a conversation to beuch less fragmented. I can see the whole conversation rather than having to jump all over the place to pick up what is being said. Twitter is one on one im and not the group chat I prefer - Iain
Scoble speaks truth. - Bwana ☠
The most telling argument is probably that this dicussion we're having here simply couldn't happen on Twitter as it currently exists. - Kevin Fox
@Kevin @Bravada Agreed! Discussion here is much easier to follow than on Twitter - Pat Hawks
Scoble rocks - Molly, "sorry"
I'm on the call and reading this - Kevin Marks
nice. hi Kevin. - Thomas Hawk
Hi Kevin :) - Molly, "sorry"
Kevin: Hi! Are you reading via the entry page (http://beta.friendfeed.com/stevegi...)? - Benjamin Golub
Much better than the 'real chat rooms' - Amyloo
Mike has a very typical biz/VC approach to this it seems. Sorta limits the scope of what one sees it seems. - Ken Sheppardson
We have real-time web around a real-time video show... - Bwana ☠
When Paul says multiple services converging... does that mean he sees friendfeed, facebook and twitter eventually having the same functionality? - Adnan
Adnon: No, it means he sees interoperability and a free flow of data between them. - Ken Sheppardson
Adnan, since Facebook seems to copy everything FriendFeed does anyway... :) - Karoli
Back in my day, we called this IRC... kinda cool it's on the web now - Bwana ☠
"Why would you want a private room?" Because some people have friends in real life that they want to share with and not worry about random people on the internets messing it up - Pat Hawks
Bwana: And we can search it, link to it, hop off form it into peoples' other stuff, etc. - Ken Sheppardson
Well, I'm off. Bye :) - Molly, "sorry"
Bwana, on the web and going out to anyone who follows you if you want it to. - Karoli
Someone should get Scoble in this thread. - Thomas Hawk
Scoble speaks for the drunken folk. yay! - Bwana ☠
Kevin: Suggest Andrew actually try it, will ya? - Ken Sheppardson
yes Kevin it would be great to let the others on the call know that this is going on. - Thomas Hawk
Beta tweak: Put a comment link a the bottom of an active thread. I keep having to scroll up to get the comment box to come back up :) - Bwana ☠
Bwana: go directly to the item. It expands automatically, and you always have a comment box open: http://beta.friendfeed.com/stevegi... - Ken Sheppardson
Bwana, are you on the permalinked (and beta) page of this thread? If so, I think the box should always show. - Philipp Lenssen
Oh ok, I was on Steve's page - Bwana ☠
IM should be a component of Twitter, except that they don't give a shit about their users. - Karoli
Is friendfeed doing anything with opensocial? - Adnan
I think FriendFeed might kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia - MG Siegler
Chris: Some folks on this call (e.g. Steve) think email's dying, yes. - Ken Sheppardson
I hate email. I like FF direct messaging. - Thomas Hawk
Compare this: http://beta.friendfeed.com/search... to this: http://search.twitter.com/search... Which is actually more meaningful? - Kevin Fox
Chris White: maybe that's why Twitter removed their IM functionality? - Phil Maxwell
Friend feed is all about the databasing and the search!! - Ed Dale
@Kevin Yes! FriendFeed search ftw - Pat Hawks
Because you're using it Leo LOL - Bwana ☠
Adnan: Matt Cutts and Paul were talking about OpenSocial last Friday night... keep your eyes open. - Ken Sheppardson
On Twitter, I know 50 people are telling other people to listen to Gillmore Gang. On Friendfeed there are several active conversations in realtime *about* the things that are being discussed on the show right now. - Kevin Fox
Kevin: perfect example - Bwana ☠
The search is the most powerful I've seen, particularly when it starts updating in real time - Karoli
Which is why I'm so excited about Filters - Bwana ☠
My company uses friendfeed as a group repository for niches we are researching - fully searchable - people can comment and it's permanent - Ed Dale
ken: I was in the middle of watching scobles video of the event when the gillmorgang started... :) - Adnan
Kevin Fox: Would be nice if there were someway to know/see what other convos are going. - Ken Sheppardson
bwana: I can't wait till when they make filters realtime! - Adnan
twitter is broadcast - friendfeed is a destination - Ed Dale
Not *everybody* uses Google, but they're doing all right - Pat Hawks
Adnan: It was after the demo, over a beer. - Ken Sheppardson
Ken Sheppardson: That's what I linked to: http://beta.friendfeed.com/search... - Kevin Fox
Google at one point was far smaller than Yahoo. And then Google came along with better tech. Sometimes you actually can build a better mousetrap. - Thomas Hawk
Adnan: seriously - Bwana ☠
It's a search for "Gillmor Gang' entries with more than 5 comments. - Kevin Fox
Leo speaks for the common man - Bwana ☠
Aha... cool. I've been trying to funnel everybody here. :-) - Ken Sheppardson
Mike is wrong about network effects and disruption. - Kevin Marks
friendfeed needs an api period - not what they are currently calling an api - bear (aka Mike Taylor)
Some superset of the Twitter API, yes - Ken Sheppardson
the trouble with twitter is the follow you follow me problem - by making it to "rude" not to follow people - they create a mess - Ed Dale
I agree with those who say the API for FF needs to be more robust. Developers won't build if they don't get an API they can work with. - Karoli
yes, follow too many people on twitter it's a total mess. FriendFeed is far more manageable. - Thomas Hawk
let him finish a sentence, mike - Ken Sheppardson
not true @chris White - anyone can send you an @ message - Ed Dale
Scoble and Mike, like a married couple :) - Simon Wicks
FF is vastly superior for realtime search. - Thomas Hawk
it isn't real time search, Mike. it's TRACK - Karoli
The metadata's much, much richer on FF than Twitter. - Ken Sheppardson
with the real time push, it becomes track - Karoli
I gree with that - - Ed Dale
impossible - Ed Dale
Thomas: Agreed! Robert really has a point... even Arrington agrees! realtime search is important. - Adnan
This real-time chat is one of the reasons why FF new UI is so much relevant - Martin Añazco
Martin - But it's tooo faaaaaaaast </whine> :P - Bwana ☠
Likes are much richer than Favorites - Ken Sheppardson
Bwana, you crack me up. - Kevin Fox
this chat is excellent. - Ed Dale
see how this realtime is limited to this thread....Guess what else can do that... LISTS!! - Bwana ☠
friendfeed has metadata because they don't strip it from the incoming sources - twitter strips all of it but the source and the 140 characters - bear (aka Mike Taylor)
Lists of comments provide much more semantic connectivity than @ signs on Twitter - Ken Sheppardson
@Bwana we will get use to it or find better ways to use it. It's just day 1 on this. - Martin Añazco
someone in the chat room just said short statement metadata is useless. LOL. - Karoli
Martin - yup you're right - Bwana ☠
hang with the hashtags, then - Karoli
Likes are the new retweets - Karoli
Scoble is a FFholic!! best ever.. - Ahmed
oh dear the meta data of likes and comments alone is immense for the search engine - Ed Dale
He said Plurk!! hahah - Bwana ☠
If this permalinked thread is IRC, then I would want the comment box to always be scrolled into sight/ be at the bottom, tho. - Philipp Lenssen
Twitter and FF can and will coexist. - Pat Hawks
Yeah, Laconica/Jaiku are the biggest losers here. - Ken Sheppardson
Philipp, agree. frustrating to keep having to retrieve the comment box. - Karoli
Robert just nailed it. - Thomas Hawk
Yes. Needles out of the haystack ftw - Pat Hawks
Ken, why isn't there a bridge into Laconica like there is to Twitter? - Karoli
That's why they're shutting him up Thomas - Bwana ☠
Right on Scoble!! - Ed Dale
You have all the same friends you had yesterday, you just see them now. You're just seeing everything you used to miss. - Ken Sheppardson
Robert is on top of it tonight - Bwana ☠
Mike Arrington is an asshole today. - Karoli
Mike! See this forum! THIS IS WHY! - Pat Hawks
@Karoli only today? - Ahmed
Karoli: You mean a little checkbox to post to Identica? Because nobody uses Identica. - Ken Sheppardson
I just realized..my FriendFeed stats are going to be weird this month... Steve Gillmor will be my #1 guy - Bwana ☠
Bwana: He has to be to deal with Mike. - Ken Sheppardson
@Ahmed I was hoping someone would say that. - Karoli
Scoble's really on today. Making very good points. - Thomas Hawk
Bwana, that is where I am, but old comments perhaps should be pushed away by new comments... right now, new comments push away the comment box instead. - Philipp Lenssen
Here it is again...Explain again Robert lol - Bwana ☠
if you have comments and likes!! you can filter!!!!! - Ed Dale
Scoble knows how FF works far more than Arrington does. - Thomas Hawk
meta data is sadly not a celebrity word :-) - Ed Dale
Ken...but still, what if we want to communicate from FF. I have to leave to reply, can't send likes there. Even if it's not huge, it would center everything on FF - Karoli
Scobles been put on the spot so many times, he's improved all his arguments over time! :) - Adnan
SOMEBODY get this link in front of Mike! - Pat Hawks
Ed - Let's make a cute name for it.. "Meta Meta" or "MoMeta" - Bwana ☠
I like how the company founder just sits back and let's Scoble explain stuff. Robert is FriendFeed's "Goose", re the Top Gun analogy earlier today. - Ken Sheppardson
@Karoli I think he is just on the show to make people angry... - Ahmed
Fluffy kitten meta - Ed Dale
also group messaging, Filters... - Ken Sheppardson
how do I make a filter of only this comment stream? (sorry if it's a stupid question) - Michael Breslin
FF = the dream of social search realized. Twitter = one big search mess. - Thomas Hawk
DITTO SCOBLE!!! - Ed Dale
awkward silence of "I'm right you're wrong" - Bwana ☠
Fuck you, Mike Arrington. Just sayin'. - Karoli
sorry about the ditto! - Ed Dale
but its searchable!!!! - Ed Dale
This could never happen on Twitter. - Thomas Hawk
its permanent!!! - Ed Dale
And you can search it later, link to other stuff, etc. - Ken Sheppardson
Michael, as a workaround, perhaps you can search for this guid and add the search as filter 579630c9-3f6c-4e9e-a8ec-4e91a52d9f91 - Philipp Lenssen
Let that become Arrington metadata. I've been saying that to myself forever - Karoli
Just today :) - Kent
If other companies start pumping their activities into twitter and if they get to critical mass, does that nuke FriendFeed? - Angus Logan
you cant save IRS ...easily - Ed Dale
We have this thread as proof when Arrington says he was behind FF all along when it becomes big - Bwana ☠
YES! - Pat Hawks
Yes, Michael - Ken Sheppardson
Ahmed, he's succeeding. - Karoli
:) - Bwana ☠
haha. yes. - Thomas Hawk
pretty much - Ed Dale
Yes, you broke the embargo... Jerk. - Bwana ☠
I love you! - Bwana ☠
I HATE you too. - Bwana ☠
wow..who likes Arrington...really? - Ahmed
Arrington should join this chat. - Thomas Hawk
Gmail has all your email. Next argument. - Ken Sheppardson
Ken wins again - Bwana ☠
and google has all its data on their site!! - Ed Dale
Angus, how is Friendfeed nuked? Given that Twitter's feed can come to FF, I'd think the superior search would hose Twitter - Karoli
uhhh... now we are worried about silos... but we aren't worried about it when we talk about twitter? - Adnan
Ken, I have all my email. GMail holds it in the cloud, but it's all stored here, too. - Karoli
Twitter is limited...FF is the future! - Ahmed
I'd rather have the guy who came up with "don't be evil" managing the conversation on his site than trusting it to Twitter. just sayin'. - Thomas Hawk
I think of the Big Three, FriendFeed is the most likely to build embeddable services that let publishers brand their conversations. - Ken Sheppardson
its certainly not either/or - Ed Dale
It's here! - Chris Baskind
It's RIGHT HERE. - Trevor Childs
WE ARE HERE :) - Ahmed
Too bad Mike doesn't listen to women. he'd have the link to the chat room now. - Karoli
*Waves to Mike* - Ken Sheppardson
too much scrolling - Maxine Appleby
and you can search for it - Ed Dale
Philipp, thanks, seems to work. - Michael Breslin

why to turn it into a room? just click on the time stamp, it has its own page - Jérôme Flipo
And we stay on topic here. (mostly) - Bwana ☠
If you go to the item directly, http://beta.friendfeed.com/stevegi... it'll scroll automatically for you, with a comment box that sticks on the bottom - Ken Sheppardson

No. The permalink does not autoscroll... - Pat Hawks
I am not a troll. I am reacting in real time. - Karoli
It's not trolling if people would say it to your face, Mike ;-) - Ken Sheppardson
Trolls are usually wrong...I'm just right :) - Bwana ☠
Oh, no, we bash Robert. - Ken Sheppardson
it's constructive criticism Mike :) - Ahmed
<3 Leo. - iluvgimp
Mike, I promise I don't spit - Karoli
Scoble made the most sense on the call. And probably knows FF better than anyone else on the call except Paul. - Thomas Hawk
block block block - Ken Sheppardson
Oohh also, use the scroll function in the browser, activated using the mousewheel/mousebutton3 and just set it to scroll to the bottom of the page, once it hits the last item, it won't scroll until a new item is added by friendfeed. - Viran
you're wrong! BLOCK! - Bwana ☠
Mike is just one of those persons that some people just love to hate :) - Phil Maxwell
LOL - Bwana ☠
Scoble has used the service a heap and gets the power of it - Ed Dale
+1 for Shel - Pat Hawks
Oh, please. stop it. you sat there and said FF would fail and a room full of people reacted . that's not trolling. - Karoli

Amyloo: How do you get to the link? - Nick in Manila

Scoble understands FF... mostly - Bwana ☠
@Rolf @Ken not in Firefox it doesn't - Pat Hawks
I've disagreed with him too :) - Bwana ☠
Rolf, the browser does not autoscroll here (Firefox 2.0.8). The comments do auto-push the box away instead. - Philipp Lenssen
Leo speaks sense. - Thomas Hawk
"mini-forums" will sping up where they are required - Ed Dale

Wow, real time increase a lot the comment flooding, look at this thread! - Jérôme Flipo
Oh, the permalink is on the date, kind of like Wordpress. - Nick in Manila
Trolls .. Blocking give trolls more power - Michael Holzinger
Ed, I disagree. The Twitterati lists combined with lack of track mean it will be elitist. that's how they want it. Like Google weighting toward corporate sites in their results - Karoli
Nick: and Twitter :) - Bwana ☠
Jerome: We're discussing the live streaming Gillmor Gang at http://live.twit.tv - Ken Sheppardson
awkward silence of "wut" - Bwana ☠

Chris: I thought a troll was somebody who tried to incite you into responding. - Ken Sheppardson
@Philipp Lenssen Same issue here. I need to scroll down constantly to play catch up with the ever growing conversation. Hopefully there will be a fix for that. - Rolf Schewe

Mike is so much fun. ;-) - Chris Baskind
Leo nailed it. - Thomas Hawk

Oh no..you didn't! - Ahmed
Leo, FTW. - Karoli

Mike would be a good agent provocateur. - Rolf Schewe
@Rolf Schewe I'm using the autoscroll using the mousewheel button to permanently scroll to the bottom of the page, give that a try :) - Viran
how many comments can a post hold before it starts messing up the browser? are their any posts with 1000+ comments? - Phil Maxwell
It's not Twitter vs FriendFeed.... - Bwana ☠

That's like saying Facebook will fail because Twitter succeeds - Bwana ☠
Why can't Twitter, FriendFeed, and Facebook all succeed? Apple seems to be doing just fine right along side Microsoft? - Ken Sheppardson
Twitter is only a small part of FF. FF supplements other services - Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Anybody who compares FriendFeed directly with Twitter doesn't understand Twitter - Pat Hawks
@Viran Thanks. Works great, until I have to type. ;) - Rolf Schewe

I will, however, refrain from repeating my FF/My Space comparison. ;-) - Chris Baskind
JaikuEngine: -) - Ken Sheppardson
I think in the future, people are going to hate simple stuff, they will need more features... - Ahmed
XMPP - Phil G
So how does the plugging of networks happen? Open Social? Why won't they talk about that? - Adnan

Very good post, I'm going to be upgrading to a smartphone in the coming year. All my area can get is Verizon so the only choice I have right now is a WinMo phone or Blackberry. I've tried playing around with the phones in the store and the user experience is absolutely dreadful. Also the prospect of my expensive phone never updating is a major turn off. I like the application support for WinMo when you can find it but seems like Blackberry will offer the better user experience. - Bryan
Anyone else care to chime in on there experiences? I'm curious to know what others thinks of the two platforms. - Bryan
I'm in the same boat as you, Michael, and also looking at the same unit. At least Verizon left the WiFi antenna turned on... - MVB (Grinch of FF)
I installed 6.1 on my Moto Q9H a few months ago and am pleased with the performance. I really miss having a touch screen so I will be upgrading phones but it will definitely be a Windows Mobile based device. My wife has a Crackberry and I hate it. I really like what I've seen of the Treo Pro but with no contract price, it's way too expensive. - David Ward
Thanks for the link, Michael. - MVB (Grinch of FF)
I can wait a while... - MVB (Grinch of FF)
