Has anyone tried the new friendfeed publishing to twitter yet?
sneaky...they also include a short url with a new service ff.im. - Rob Diana
No, I'm afraid to because of the noise it'll add to my Twitter stream. - Morton Fox
Just noticed that too...very nice... - JA Castillo (جاسون)
@Morton - you can select which feeds are ported to Twitter and thereby cut the noise down... - JA Castillo (جاسون)
Not yet, but I'm anticipating major noise.. - embee
Works like a charm - Jorge Escobar
It does fill up your twitter stream if you post a bunch of stuff to FF, Just had about 10 updates from stuff I saved to Mento show up. whoa... - JA Castillo (جاسون)
Well, I have it configured only to publish to twitter those things I post directly to FriendFeed. That makes FriendFeed another Twitter client, but it does not flood my twitter account. - Rob Diana
For my @oemperor Twitter account, I'm only echoing blog posts from a single blog (I had never implemented that before). For my other Twitter account that I infrequently use, I'm leaving it turned off, at least for now. (That Twitter feed would be dominated by links, which isn't advisable.) - Ontario Emperor
Ontario, I did not think of that. I actually setup twitterfeed recently, but now I can remove that. cool. - Rob Diana
yeah works great ... especially when you can filter certain services to twitter - James Cooper
Ontario - smart approach - 2 twitter accounts... that's the way to do it! - Susan Beebe
Defaults are key here... I think FriendFeed should default a bunch of services to NOT share. I think a lot of people will turn it on but not customize it, resulting in a lot of nonsense flooding Twitter. - Logical Extremes
I have. I customized it so my Goodie Room posts are the only ones that get cross posted. And FYI, it doesn't loop. ie: FF -> Twitter -> back to FF. - Mona Nomura
Just set it up to only post my blog entries and Flickr...we'll see how it goes and add more later - Justin Korn
Yes. I think I've personally caused 11 fail whales all by myself, and I wasn't even trying. - Steven Perez
It looks interesting, but I'm also concerned with flooding. I have turned on my friendfeed input and personal blogposts. Great idea once again. Good innovation! You really get the feeling there are some people using their heads at friendfeed. - TobiasVerhoog.com
No, I don't necessarily want to share stuff here over there in isolation without context and most of my friends over there are not here, prefer them separate communities unless choose to do a specific @reply as before - Sally Church
Sally, as I say above, I am only publishing direct FriendFeed posts to Twitter. That gives me the ability to ask questions to two communities. Comments and other feeds would absolutely be noise or lose too much context. - Rob Diana
yes, and it seems to work well. I'm a touch worried about volume, but like that I can select just some sources to post from & will probably need to do so to narrow it all down & stop me repeating myself *lots* - immaterial
