""Three MPLMs were built and delivered to NASA and have names chosen by the ASI to denote some of the great talents in Italian history: Leonardo, Raffaello, and Donatello. It's also the names of three of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so NASAs MPLM Group designed a logo with a ninja turtle in an astronaut flight suit." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... ..."

"In my opinion, the whole purpose of going into space should be human settlement of the solar system. This is just a step backwards. If we're not willing to go the distance and spend the required funds, maybe we should just give up human spaceflight and leave it to the Chinese."

"I totally understand the argument set forth in this article. However, Leo's constant complaints seem to be based more on the TWiT vs Twitter name thing, which makes his argument seem petty in my opinion."

"Agreed. Very interesting article. Dr. Multhaup makes very good points. We did the "really big show" with Apollo. Now is the time for a slower, more methodical exploration and colonization of our solar system. It is indeed our destiny as a sentient species. Like Konstantin Tsiolkovsky said, "Earth is the cradle of humanity, but mankind cannot stay in the cradle forever.""

"The problem with this commentary is that the writer assumes that the only reason for manned space exploration is the "experience". Actually, there is one very good reason that the human species will HAVE to leave our solar system. Our star Sol has an expiration date. We either migrate, or we eventually become extinct. Assuming, of course, that we can survive any number of other risks that could cause our extinction over the next few billion years. We have to stop thinking of human spaceflight as an experience. The ultimate goal should be a truly spacefaring species spread throughout the galaxy."

"I wonder what this means for Ares? Will a retired Air Force general be more likely to support the use of Atlas or Delta to launch Orion?"

"Um... I don't get it. Why the morbid fascination with NASA recycling pee? The news media is just so obsessed with this, like they've never heard of recycling urine. What do you think happens to your urine here on Earth? It get's recycled by your local waste water treatment plant."

"I think this was directly related to Russia's invasion of Georgia. My Netflix shipments do come from Duluth, Georgia. And now Netflix is reporting that the problem is corrected... at the same time that Georgia signs a ceasefire agreement. Coincidence? I think not."
