And now I present you with Full of Win #2: Ffundercats - or alternately titled "How to shamelessly gather likes and comments by involving FriendFeed in your new webcomic" - Full Version - http://www.dailyhaggis.com/wp-cont...
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
HA! The superhero outfits are perfecto. I need to actually catch up on Ffundercats. I think the last one I heard was the one with Tina, actually. Which was fab, of course.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
OH YEAH! AWESOME! I look good in baby blue!
- Mark Wilson
Haggis, this is awesome :), but it's terribly difficult to read the font if your display is more than 100dpi: I had to blow it up to 400% in order to read it.
- mjc
Yikes! Might have been the .GIF compression as well.. Is everyone else having trouble reading? It definitely looks best at 100%/
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Hehe. That is a good chuckle. Keep it up. Though, having to click three times so I could get it large enough to read was annoying. Still, worth reading. :)
- Robert Miller
I know, I know.. I posted that way to make sure the original item had my copyright on it. The Full of Win room has links to the direct images. I'm seriously toying with the idea of getting a dedicated site for these tho.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Thx Pete. I noticed I didn't put the symbol in on the last frame! (I also put #3 instead of #2.) Serves me right for doing all this on an empty stomach. :D
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Thank you for 'being kind' to my waistline as well... :P
- Johnny Worthington
Hahaha.. I based the hair partly on the "Carls Jr" pic you uploaded in Vegas, and combining that with Lion-O's hair. Hey, I could have made you Cheetara :D
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
I thought Josh was supposed to be Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the Future.
- Mark Wilson
Colleen is cute and snarky. Two of my favorite things.
- Dave Friedel
I have a colleague that is just like Colleen. I suspect a 'Daria' effect, it seems to have appeared at about the time the series was released.
- lelapin
Felicia Day is oh so full of Win! This is a Jed Whedon song too I think :) Edit: Jed wrote the Music. The lyrics are all Felicia. :)
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
Seriously, you win the internets, big time!
- Josh Haley
I've been criticized for [liking] too much ( http://friendfeed.com/sebayou... ). I've been accused of clicking Like on everything I see to make myself visible. I'm pretty sure my average [Like] rate is less than 50 per day.
I think it's because they're new here, and have their own idea of the way to use Friendfeed. But yes, Kevin, I'll continue [liking] as I like. :)
- Brome
Like can mean different things Don't take it personally
- Rodfather
I'm trying, Rodfather. I've been called a spammer, a wacko, an a**hole (or their french equivalents) and it can become a bit irritating. But all in all, I find the whole story funny. It's just that some people should take the time to discover how FF works and "lives" before making judgements.
- Brome
@Brome you are one of the kindest ones. Don't change, be yourself. We LIKE you :)
- Véronique Rabuteau
You just want some love ! It's like everywhere else, if people feel swamped, they should just unsubscribe, not complain about it. Personnally, I subscribe to even more people when scoble is too much, that way it minimizes his presence.
- Genaro Bardy
from iPhone
Thanks Véronique. :) And yes Genaro, fighting noise with signal is the way to go. But of course, someone's signal is someone else's noise.
- Brome
in fact all the great stuff here makes it very hard, not to like a lot. (I once felt dirty because of using the magic button very often, but I got over it...) :)
- esther ♥ ♫
LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE
- Derrick
Clicking "Like" on everything sounds like a really poor way to make yourself visible; surely you should at least be posting meaningless comments everywhere? ;) Anyhow, if they don't like it (tee hee hee), they can unsub, or even block.
- Tristan Seligmann
liking something makes the post and the poster more visible. like away!!
- BEX
You can't ever please everyone so at least do what pleases you on FF where no one is forced to follow you if they don't want to
- M F
you're always going to end up interacting with people of the same level of activity as you - the people with a lot less activity will feel swamped when they come check, and might remove you, the people with a lot more activity might never notice you. It's like parallel layers, and sometimes people move from one to the next. I suspect you have, and some of your old group will stick with...
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
I know, Joelle, and I have absolutely nothing against anyone unsubscribing from my feed or just not subscribing to it in the first place. As you said, that's natural. But I've been publicly insulted and accused of mass-following people and liking posts to increase my follower count, in order to sell them a product. That's just insane! I follow people to gather information and because I care about what they have to say, I don't care wether they follow me back or not. And I have nothing to sell.
- Brome
Brome, just do what you have to do, what you wanna do. Who want to teach you how to use FriendFeed? They just have to unsubscribe. So what?
- Thierry R. Andriamirado
BTW.. I'm gonna like this FriendFeed entry of you, and it'll B Twitted. FriendFeed Likes (Promotes!) FTW!
- Thierry R. Andriamirado
That's not bad at all. I used to like a lot more than I do know. I've been trying to comment more lately. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable!
- Michael Fidler
I've already had lunch but I could *so* down a noodle bowl right about now...
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
I'm hungry. Thanks a lot. First, it is called "friend feed" and then you show me food I can't eat. That's just cruel. When does the replicator come out?
- τorƍue
"You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President. You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy. You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed. You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed. You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us. You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war. You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq. You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos. You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people. You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans. You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden. You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed. You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown. You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark. You finally got mad...

Name That Foster Kitten Season 2 - Meet Boomer (aka Boomerang). Our grey & white boy is a real sweetheart. He aspires to be a lap kitten, but sometimes must rocket from lap to attack and back again. He has some odd eating habits (likes everyone else's food only), and is curious, contemplative and cute. #foxfosterkitten
VOTING ENDS FRIDAY THE 14TH AROUND 4:30ISH!! Names must be adoptable names, which means not really strange or obscure/in jokes (that can't also make sense to other people). Names can be people names or not as long at its cute. Something that is fun to say or rolls off the tongue easy is also good. We will take brainstorming suggestions for the next 24 hours and then voting on Thursday, not sure yet what the end time will be.
- Rachel Lea Fox
For some reason he strikes me as an Edward
- anna sauce
For some reason I thought of Maxwell, or Ping, like a horse I used to know that would startle at anything and go rocketing off, but calm down a couple seconds later.
- Heather
Oh, Ping is cute. I can see him being a Ping.
- joey
yeah lots of options already. Heather, he doesn't really startle, he just wants to attack one of the other kittens, but he also wants to be on my lap and he can't figure out how to have both at the same time so he rockets off, gets someone and then comes running right back. It might also be because he is a little chicken and the four of them have truly developed a game much like tag...
- Rachel Lea Fox
Aww, this is the guy that I want. :)
- Alex Scoble
The second photo above was from over the weekend when he would only eat gruel (kitten formula with wet kitten food mixed) as he wasn't totally weaned. He got done eating with a goatee of gruel hanging from his chin. I had to get a photo before he licked it away.
- Rachel Lea Fox
Oh, I want this kitten! I have currently named him Musfhaff (because I must have!)
- Janet
"Streak" - i luv his markings, the streak across his snout is cute ! [edit to support my choice] "narrow irregular line, stripe, smear; rapid movement or something that moves very quickly; trace, small amount; layer, stratum; unbroken series of events; spell or run (of luck, misfortune, etc.)
- Peter Dawson
He looks a lot like a kitten we just got, but ours is black on top and white on underside. We thought about naming ours :Oreo," but had to give him a cajun name cause he's a transplant from Louisiana to Texas. So we named our Boudreaux. But you may like Oreo, if his gray is dark enough.
- Katy Barrilleaux
Janet, do you live in the bay area? If you are interested I can add you to my list of people who are interested in one of them and give you more information as soon as I figure it all out. The kittens need to stay here at least a month before they can be adopted, but we can talk if you are interested.
- Rachel Lea Fox
He looks like a Shmootz to me (I probably spelled that wrong.) He looks like he has a little shmootz on his chin and could use a napkin.
- Marci Golub
Sorry, on the east coast but like Marci's name, it is used as PA word Dutch for something gooey/wet/dirty :)
- Janet
Yeah, I have to agree, "schmutz" does not have a good connotation in my understanding (as someone who grew up in the east coast hearing that). "You have a little schmutz on your shirt. You might want to clean that off before you go to the interview."
- Ragani Harris
My gray and white cat's name is Puddy and he won't eat until the other two cats are finished. (Puddy is short for Puddin'head.)
- Kimber Scott
There was a lady that lived across the street from me that had a kitty with the same facial markings as yours, I never knew its name but I always called it; "Pugsley"
- Scratch5150
My adoptee, RubyRoo, was 6 when I got her a few months ago. She spent the first few days in the closet and wouldn't come out (except for critical bodily functions!) Now, she curls up next to me in bed, rolls over to let me rub her tummy whenever I pass by, and almost lets me hold her (for a minute or so, tops!) We're making progress. My vote is for the name: Rupert. (I don't know why.)
- Mark Jepsen
Mark, that is awesome! And really fast progress for an adult cat. Congrats to you and RubyRoo!!
- Rachel Lea Fox
Rupert! I have to say the Victorian names are working- something about the coloring, like he's in black & white tails or something.
- anna sauce
He does look dressed up. I thought of Tux, but it's kind of cheesy. Victorian names are way cooler.
- Heather
ok going fwd - new direct for the kitty's :)- my name theme now is going to be greek. So here goes -'Vasilios -With royal blood, regal" !
- Peter Dawson
PLS VOTE FOR "Patton" - GENERAL PATTON :)-
- Peter Dawson
And so begins the campaigning for names. Awesome! Names on he poll are: Harley, Domino, Patton, Lego, Boomer (aka Boomerang), Rupert and Nami. Though I'm sorry Kevin, but I think we shouldn't go with Nami since the other grey one is now named Nonny. We can save Nami for another time. Voting till around 4:30 today. He is the last kitten without a name!!
- Rachel Lea Fox
Cat without a name? Makes me think of the old 'spaghetti' westerns......Clint! Hey how about that?
- Kevin J Hatton
Kevin, that is a great one, but brainstorming is closed and we are voting at the poll right now. I will add that to the list for possibles with the next set of kittens though. Poll is here: http://answers.polldaddy.com/poll...
- Rachel Lea Fox
Based on the current results, I'd say the poll is faulty. (Because my choice is not winning)
- Brian Johns
Sparky, other than your suggested kitty, what is your choice?
- Rachel Lea Fox
I liked Patton the best, but chose Lego because it had the best combination of "how much I like it" and "chances of winning".
- Brian Johns
because nobody wants to vote for a loser, right??? :-)
- Brian Johns
You know, it's a check box so you could vote for all you like. I'm not exactly sure when it will turn of, time zone settings are screwy there, but people might be able to get a last minute vote in.
- Rachel Lea Fox
from iPhone
Nevermind it closed when it was supossed to. Boomer wins!!!!
- Rachel Lea Fox
from iPhone
I love to cook but it feels like such a waste to do it alone (Megen's working the night shift at the hospital). Leftover birthday cake sounds like a better option right now.
I remember when FriendFeed was available only through VT100 terminals.
- Jemm
I even remember what it was like before Alex Scoble got here. But I never knew a time without Louis Gray. And, before Paul? Well, there was Twitter. I remember that time well. :-)
- Robert Scoble
I miss having a friendfeed embed on my blog. I could use a good social media hub that isn't effected so much by good ole business decisions. What are my options?
- Mark Essel
Mark: rrrriiiiiggggghhhhttttt. Write your own, I guess is the option.
- Robert Scoble
Mona was a much more attractive Scoble. "Queen of FriendFeed" as I recall.
- DGentry
Robert, Who own's the internet? Who owns the web? How do we get that same group to own social media information so that I can rely on it rain or shine. As an aside, I looked into facebook this morning and nearly puked in my own mouth due to crappy apps, and low quality information. I sorta don't see facebook as my social information hangout, ever. (maybe lite will change that... and the relationship structure)
- Mark Essel
I too was here long before Scoble but thankfully I've gotten to know him much better after his arrival. Death to Scoble...Long live Scoble.
- Mark Krynsky
There was a "before Robert Scoble got here"?
- Morton Fox
BRS (Before Robert Scoble) will be a new measurement of time.
- Jemm
I think BS (Before Scoble) would be better. ;) Just kidding Robert
- Keith - @tsudo
I'm pretty sure Scoble was here when I got here, but I followed Louise Gray here and Scoble was quiet back then. His Twitter followers weren't following him en masse to FF like they apparently do now.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
I don't remember but I love that quote anyway. That needs to show up in my feed again.
- Martha
Oh now we're starting to insult Robert now? Shame. :(
- Mol, Santa Claws
People, geez. He's quoting that hilarious video with Hitler talking about FB and FF.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Molly... how is it insulting him.. he is in this thread joking along with it... not sure he feels insulted, maybe he would say so if he was..
- Rob Sellen :o)
Molly: if you think this is insulting you should read some of the people over on Twitter.
- Robert Scoble
I remember FriendFeed on a 28.8k modem. I'm totally being serious. This whole real-time thing would have sucked. Oh, and yes, I remember FriendFeed before Robert. ;-)
- Zach Flauaus
I've been trying to see if I can actually tolerate "that cesspool of superpokes and mafia wars" of late...it's rough going. ;-)
- Christopher A Carr
I love that Bret, Paul, and Kevin checked in. They probably are looking at their screens and asking "what do we do now?" how about ship some new features before Facebook overlords take you off to do bigger things?
- Robert Scoble
from iPhone
I feel sorry for all you addicts. My use of it is purely social.
- Bruce Lewis
I do like FF and use it almost every day. Wouldn't it be great if FB either left it alone so we can continue to use it as "professionals," or somehow incorporate it into a more "mature" version of FB that didn't have all the annoying, time-wasting apps, games, etc. I'd much prefer a totally customizable FF "wall."
- Cathryn Hrudicka
I think FFundercats HO!!!!! would have worked but I'm here anyways.
- Jimminy
Actively fighting addiction to anything on a daily basis, but I'm still a FriendFeed fan! (I'd have been here sooner but I've been staring at Phoebe Cates pics for longer than I realized.)
- Mark Jepsen
Thank you Robert Scoble to be here. :) BTW is this looks interesting for FF replacement? : http://streamy.com/ ? May be... I'll try it to see. :)
- Claude LaFrenière
Why should I? Whats in it for me? You doing some sort of survey of people to send out the police to do a "Safety Check" on when the site is shutdown?
- CW™
here. anecdote: a friend of mine just signed up for FF this evening. apparently the FriendFeed hype of the last 24 hours pushed him over the top. leaves me wondering whether FF has actually gained users today?it would be a crafty way of marketing the service. I'll wake up tomorrow to discover that there was a problem with the paperwork and the FriendFeed team have had a change of heart.
- JSLeFanu
from BuddyFeed
Count me in even though I was just starting to get hooked. I guess it's time to find a rehab and get all sobered up until the next relapse with some other new addiction. Isn't life grand?
- Usman Bashir
oh hey, look, the added an "add comment" link to the end of the comment list. Huzzah!
- Brett Kelly
from iPhone
++Jay. I was going to do the same thing yesterday but I didn't want to pay the money.
- David Cook
David -- this was a $9.95 session but you can get them for $7.95 and there are also 25% off coupons if you do online check-in prior to your Delta flight. That's an incentive for folks to use that service and offload kiosk use at the terminals. Very savvy marketing by the folks at GoGo and Delta combined.
- Jay Cuthrell
well, it's 12:12 a.m. and I'm perusing FF from my iPhone via BuddyFeed before turning in. so yeah, I guess I count. "Here!" (raises hand)
- Don Faulkner
from BuddyFeed
I recommend FF to some of my clients, and there are some companies and nonprofits with presences here—not like Twitter, but I'll be curious how that will be affected when FB takes over more. Most have FB fan pages, groups and/or causes, too.
- Cathryn Hrudicka
Yeah, me too. I just saw the request to have a comment link at the bottom of the comments from one of your friends just yesterday and here it is. I'd say they are listening. Thanks FF.
- Keith Rowland

И так чятег, пока Скобл не поговорит с нами представителями СовиетФрендфидика, все мои записи теперь можно читать в этом тредике. Пользуясь случае передаю Парню Бухайту и его команде большой привет, в связи с тем что [He can has sleep naw].
- ideali
- Matthew Horton
More than a friend of FriendFeed, was starting to use it as a full lifestreaming platform and loved it. It's made a whole lot of other sites make sense.
- achean
Hi, I'm Bette... I don't know if I'm an addict, but I can't stay away... I keep checking, just to see if something's new... and I cry if I get no responses to a post. Is that addictive behavior? :D
- Bette Cooper
Yup, I have blocked all the impersonators now. You will still see them, but I don't see them and they no longer can comment on any of my items.
- Robert Scoble
@scobleizer As far as I can see you have blocked not only the impersonators (who renamed themselves back the moment they found out you have a problem with this) but most of the folks who chatted there.
- Махатма Бугоганди
@meatreach yes, see next thread. Scobble becomes anti-Russian.
- Never Impersonate You
Maxatma: well, that's just too bad. I speak English. Sorry. People who don't speak English really don't have any business commenting on one of my items, except in rare cases.
- Robert Scoble
Why you, Robert Scoble, don't block users from Spain or Italy? China or arabic countries? Those users that comments on non-English languages?
- Never Impersonate You
@Robert, in fact they do speak English. But they also do make fun of Friendfeed and everything that's going on there. You can block them or take part in this fun. ;)
- Махатма Бугоганди
I prefer FF over twitter and facebook, but all my friends are on twitter and/or facebook. Maybe facebook will get it right this time now that it has acquired FF. If they simplify it a bit more without removing functionality. Then I would spend a bit more time on FB. Lets hope all goes well with the merger. If not I'm jumping ship and going over to Google Wave. oh wait, I'm going to go with Google Wave regardless! ;-)
- Captain Jack
Bu arada Russian friends Turkiye'ye selamlar gonderiyor.
- ideali
@scobleizer i can speak english and i beg you to remove bann from all russian friendfeeders, because we are all from it-community, working in internet companies and we came with peace, you asked for feedback from friendfeed addicts — we show you how really it is being frf addicts, we change names, we chat, we making things that are not serious. Why so serious? Unlock people, they are not bots, they just playing the game of real addicts and have fun. Common.
- ideali
shaun: I started this post to demonstrate that a lot of us are still here and aren't likely to leave. At least not quickly. So, life goes on after FriendFeed gets acquired by Facebook. Point proved.
- Robert Scoble
Robert He says ; Our Russian friends say to hello to Turkey
- Osman Üngür
ideali: have them send email to scobleizer@gmail.com and I'll unblock anyone who says they weren't impersonating me.
- Robert Scoble
Hector: good morning! I need coffee.
- Robert Scoble
@robert yes they (we will) stay here, I think tat the migration process will take time and after reading @Paul Bucheit, I think that what we all are trying to get even if we don't say it explicitly is to preserve a kind of intimacy (beeing a part of the Huge faceBook community) don't mean that FF community will preserve their intimacy, why should a community be a plan one, (let imagine a community as a set of sub-community) that all.
- abdellah
Wow!! So many likes and comments; is it a record Rob?
- Er-fun
@scobleizer thank you, for understanding. be cool, guys we just want have fun here a little. Take care.
- ideali
@Robert RE "I have enough noise in my life. I don't need to have more" - isn't it a lot of noise having 26K subscriptions and 46K subscribers on your frf account? I'm kind of surprised - you create a community that large around yourself, yet when you see a new and unusual activity you just block it right away.
- Махатма Бугоганди
@Robert, patience? Who's talking about patience? It's about curiosity, not patience. When something strange and unusual happens around you, you can either try to stop it or try to see what it can develop into. You choose to stop - and it stopped. Well, not stopped - just moved to some other place. And do you really know what it was and what it was about to bring you?
- Махатма Бугоганди
I'm here all the way from South Africa! I dig this service and I'm not quite ready to give it up. Regardless of the news about the acquisition, this remains an awesome service.
- Paul Jacobson
I'm new to ff but find more valuable information here than anywhere else!
- Janet Crance
I don't know how I rate my addiction relative to others, but I shared Hitler's reaction upon hearing the acquisition news (despite happiness for Paul and Bret)
- Chris Duffy
I think I have to qualify my earlier answer. I don't have many friends on Friendfeed, but I do use it as a news aggregator. With groups and rooms, I used it like Techmeme. Facebook, where i have a more healthy friend list is less interesting. In fact, I spend more time there locking things down, than sharing, which I did pretty freely on FF, even if only 10 people cared.
- Peter
Hope this deal preserves FF's power and usability. FF:FB::Mac:Windows.
- David Lounsbury
I'm sure this is part of Scoble's plot to poll all the people who really read his posts, and unfollow the rest. So I raise my hand.
- Shivanand Velmurugan
Just a wannabe. Not an addict (yet).
- Carole Hicks
It might also be a way for me to filter down my "following" count (diff (my followers, scoble)) are the only people I really need to follow. Those that scoble follows, I can safely unfollow and use Scoble as my social media filter :)
- Shivanand Velmurugan
pardon the arrogance but it really sucks this great forum of sharing will turn into a myspace humdrum. Now I have to find another SM where first adopters and well informed techies won't haft to compete with general "noise"
- earl wallace
Well, here's a comment I can later delete and rob the owner of 1500!
- Matthew DeVries
I just mention the 1500 mark since it was such an iconic query to see... that and the 500 Likes club of FF posts. It's pretty exclusive stuff... but it's also sobering to note that the subject matter required to get to these levels isn't always a uniform mix of cares/concerns.
- Jay Cuthrell
When I heard the FaceBook news, I tried to quit FriendFeed and I couldn't... I'M HOOKED
- The Web's Wendell Wittler
i clicked the "1488 more comments" and my computer nearly exploded. and yes, i am using an amiga 500.
- jack
Now that I have instructions (thanks LouisGray) and figured out my Bookmarklet! I am LOVING the ease of use! addict - not quite...
- Robyn Hawk
Actually, I lied. I am not a die-hard friendfeed fan. I desperately want to be but have just not been able to get into a good "feeding" rhythm. Maybe I need to add some more friends
- Anant Gairola
I don't need to be addict. I'm just here, everyday, absorbing so many geeky info :D There's no place like FF
- Lysender
I'm still with ya, Robert. Whatever FB paid for FF, it wasn't enough!
- Donald C. Lindsay
New here, but learning. Tips for best use?
- Barbara Langham
@bdlangam From my perspective the #1 tip in this category is: Explore and define "best use" for yourself. Despite potential "finishing" impression of some productive consolidations in this collective-collaborative cognition space, the emergent #cognosphere is still WAY too nascent to assert anything other than initial impressions. March to the beat of your own drum; build your own...

<drunk bait> Hey, Mark! Did you add the D into your name to mess with my head? 'Cause now I keep wanting to call you MDV, even though Matthew is MDV and you're MVB. </drunk bait>
Ahhhh, that's why she was dressed up in the Catholic School girl out fit, licking a giant lolly pop when I showed up for that appointment, she wrote the wrong initials down in her date planner.
- Matthew DeVries
Grrr... I'm just sayin' I don't remember the initial D. being in your display name before. Why can't you be a good drunk and take the bait?!?? =D
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
looks like someone # tagged her. She's ready for twitter.
- vijay
That's her team number, we have to have them on the backs and arms of our jerseys. If your shirt has no arms, you have to write it in on your arm in sharpie.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
So, just so I understand this, just so I am clear.... A post that was supposed to drunk-bait me turned into a pseudo-fantasy of Tina dressed as a Catholic school girl? THIS is why the internet is awesome!
- MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
but Tina still won't forget that you didn't take her bait =P
- vijay
Interesting side note. In Netherlands in the phone book I would be found under "B" and Matthew under "V." Here it's the other way around.
- MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
You have, Mark? Guess I just haven't been paying attention. Again, I blame my fried brain. And every newbie who joins the team gets a derby wife: they pair you up with a veteran skater. She teaches you, makes sure you're ready for assessments, and passes along information from the monthly meetings until you've been on the team long enough to attend them. My derby wife is Kitty Longstockings =).
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
There are a bunch of teams in CA, though they might not be in your particular city (and yes, that means I can't remember which city you're in, plus my CA geography is teh crappy). There's also a league in Vegas with mobster themed team. Visit http://www.wftda.com to find a flat track league in your area!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
The fact that there are derby wives and the official magazine is called "Five on Five" is enough for me. I'm sold...
- MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
As long as you actually do the reffing part, Mark. And as long as you don't mind the risk of a skate wheel up your rear: skaters knocked out of control hit refs and spectators just like they hit each other.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
"We Still Have Plurk!" Hahahahahahahahha!
- Hugh McCallion
Hysterical! (At first I thought this (FB swallowing FF) was bad for Twitter - but maybe Twitter will end up the real winner. (Such a depressing thought.)
- Matthew Blaisdell
If FriendFeed got big independently, you would have FriendFeed spam just like you get poked or you get trash messages on Facebook. It's the nature of the beast.
- Michelle
Thanks for the humor. I needed to laugh today.
- Jeunelle Foster
Mark, I forwarded this to a friend - film school graduate, not a Friendfeed user. He loved it. Great job.
- John Craft
All this mockery was quite stupid, IMO. Please don't judge all russians by those guys :)
- Kirill Petrovsky
donor: I don't. I'm getting around to all of them.
- Robert Scoble
Hi. I'm Russian and I never impersonate you. Can I comment you in Russian or I will be blocked?
- Never Impersonate You
Never Impersonate: right now, sorry, I'm blocking all Russians who participated. Speak English on my items please, thanks.
- Robert Scoble
It's so disappointing. Will you also block all arabic or chinese comments?
- Never Impersonate You
It is only fair to write in english when the post was started in english.
- Flynn (Michael A. Volz)
Never: no, because they didn't impersonate me. I tried to only block impersonators. If I blocked someone who wasn't impersonating me, they can explain themselves at scobleizer@gmail.com and I'll unblock them.
- Robert Scoble
But, please keep it English on my items, thanks. I can't read other languages.
- Robert Scoble
It is very strange or even unfair to block people for having fun using Friendfeed, Scoble. If blocking is only for Russians, then it sounds like faschism. R u nazi?
- Maria Podolyak
Just check that long thread again, I guess they are just making fun, and also I found the longest thread on Friendfeed is in Russian, which has more than 7021 comments :) http://ff.im/2OQex (It's so long, make sure you are ready to open the thread:P)
- K.D.
Maria: it's not fun. Not when you increase my inbound noise. And if you try comparing me to a Nazi one more time I'm going to block you. My grandmother stood up to the Nazis.
- Robert Scoble
K.D.: kind of rude? It's way beyond rude to me.
- Robert Scoble
Sounds like a drink order. “Bartender, I best be havin' a Robert Scoble Russian....”
- Mike Shields
hmm, I am from China, maybe the feeling towards that sentence is not to the same degree, but I think it's insulting words~
- K.D.
and one another thing - Robert, when you talk about solving Nazi problem, you'd better keep in memory it was Russians who actually had _solved_ The Problem. Not your grandma i.e., with all respect to her.
- A.T.
Robert, guyes have joked, and you seriously perceive them. They are really good:)
- Неформат
Hey, guys, we are going to make fun too tonight in Chinese;)) we try to stick the picture of one of friends to the top, so that his girl can see it when she come to friendfeed:)))) you can hide as you like, hope not get blocked ;)
- K.D.
well you know what they said,"In Soviet Russia,Robert Scoble block you"
- ThenWang
"The idea is simple, take tweets and thread them together to form conversations, adding context. This works by using the a tiny thread site to both start new conversation threads, and add your comments to old ones. After authenticating via OAuth, your comment is then sent back to Twitter, with a link back to the a tiny thread conversation page."
- Paul Buchheit
from Bookmarklet
Friendfeed already offers much superior conversational tools, so why bother.
- Sean McBride
I missed the "login" link because it was WAAAAAY to the right of the page.
- Craig Eddy
I saw Leo laporte use it earlier today. Did not know it was from him
- Chris Heath
from iPhone
Wow... almost like a chat room. Really? A chat room. What an amazing revolutionary idea. Hey 1980. Good to see you again. Where have you been?
- Patrick Allmond
@Casey you can't cname and easily geo optimize a 2nd level domain, thats why they don't support it.
- Sam Pullara
Wow this is really cool.. has potential. Coincidence that Joshua launched it the day after FF and FB announced the buy? Is there really such a thing as a coincidence?
- Amy Flynn
It's a Twitter hack, but simplicity wins. I like it. Actually the fact that it doesn't push conversations out to Twitter is a good thing. Sometimes you go to somebody's Twitter front page and all you see is @ replies and you don't know what they're talking about because all you see is one-sided conversation
- Andre P. Siregar
I'm seeing a bunch of "XXX joined a thread at tinythread" tweets. I don't think people understand that it spams their stream. If he's not careful, tinythread will accumulate some bad karma by spamming.
- DGentry
I agree with the spamyness off its behaviour, some preferences would be handy
- James Tenniswood
DGentry, James T., I guess options wouldn't hurt. Tweetworks is another service that does conversations on Twitter and when you join a conversation there, it would just send @ reply to the originator of the conversation in your Twitter stream. I actually prefer how Tinythread does it compared to Tweetworks
- Andre P. Siregar
10 Ağustos'ta eklenen karakter tespiti çok yerinde olmuş:) Herşeye karşıyız, öfkeli kalabalık:D. FF genel görünümünü değiştirdiğinde de böyle kıyamet kopmuştu şimdi kimse hatırlamıyordur eminim o eski halini, çok sabırsızız, bekleyelim bakalım neler olacak asla demeyiz:)
- Ufuk Özgül
Sorunda ff'de hangi tipi karşıladığımı buldum.
- Elke Schmitter
- Muge Cerman
:)eskisine benzeyen beyaz tema mı, klasik? Ben unuttum:D
- Ufuk Özgül
Valla her değişime ayak uydurmak gerek.
Facebook acquiring FriendFeed. http://profy.com/2009... NO... NO... aaaaah! No!!!!! there has never been censorship ever on friendfeed. never! it has been the best!!!!! now we can expect facebook to ban nudity and allow Holocaust denial. ugh! I am very unhappy. friendfeed was the only bright spot in social media these days. I loved friendfeed. it was there for me when I was booted off of twitter for questioning their censorship and hypocrisy and it has always been a superior technological standard that never crashes. I am disappointed
- Noah David Simon
I feel like when Jessica Greenberg cheated on me with that Guitar player when I was 13. watch out she is now a lesbian dentist in NJ. went from the guitarist to the base player to the drummer and then to U Penn where she came out of the closet
- Noah David Simon
@jidf you would never see a friendfeed employee with this kind of hypocrisy http://www.facebook.com/note... "if facebook is unable to discriminate meaning from violent speech then I really don't think they should legally have any discretion over the content on our profiles. we are not hearing anything about their ability to understand the difference in...
- Noah David Simon
no I'm serious. the real great thing about friendfeed is they actually really followed their own terms. it isn't the technology... it was the people that ran friendfeed that made the tool powerful.
- Noah David Simon
are you trying to bring Sean McBride here? this has nothing to do with anything but asking for a community to follow their own rules.
- Noah David Simon
First the U.S. was stupid enough to let Obama win the election, then my wife of over 13 years decides she wants a divorce, now this. This is just another part of my world that's falling apart. I keep thinking maybe G-d is trying to tell me I don't really belong here. Time to make aliyah, I think. I just don't think I'll be able to bring my kids. ><
- David C. Cooper
hey David! I feel ya about the ladies... but I gotta say friendfeed's relationship with the unholy facebook Holocaust denier supporters is sickening. about making the "Aliyah": one of the things the media has done worse then anything else is made us forget how hot our Jewish sisters are. have fun! the beaches in Tel Aviv are beautiful. try not to social network too much. IgorTheTroll and I are poor role models.
- Noah David Simon
LOL! thanks for the encouragement. I gotta get off the feeds and get to work. ^^
- David C. Cooper
thats bad news, was just starting to feel fee on ff
- liny
nothing in life is free Kim. this network aggregated some great data... that is now part of facebook
- Noah David Simon
so now the question is when will twitter be bought... and by who? I'm taking a vote. how many of you say google will buy twitter and how many think facebook will buy twitter? ...how many think someone else like a media advertising company? microsoft? I'm taking a vote here.
- Noah David Simon
Interesting comment about the Tel Aviv women...once met an Israeli who'd spent seven years in Australia...then he went back to Israel. He found he couldn't chat up his own Israeli countrywomen. I explained to him why. He'd gotten too used to Aussie women. Different kettle of fish.
- George Hall (Australia)
indeed George. the Israelis are a hard catch. they are beautiful though. they are very difficult for American Jews. we actually clash. in fact to be honest George I find it ironic that I am online defending them all the time... cuz when I was looking they were impossible to get a date with. Aussie women and New Zealand women have this kind of smart ass thing going that is hard for me to...

Looks like an opportunity for someone to fill a major vaccuum which has just been created on the web.
- Jack Humphrey
Are you jumping ship already? You going to let Zuckerberg's Totalitarian clan control our destiny and deny us Liberty?
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Understand your attraction to the women most at conflict with Jews. I was once married to a girl from Croat Ustasha-Fascist background. Never wanted another girl like that ever again after divorce. Next major relationship was a lady who kept hidden a war criminal family background. More trouble than even the ex-wife was. Although I heard she and my ex networked...
- George Hall (Australia)
In spite of whatever thrill they are, such women are still ultimately poison to both Jews and Noachides. What was that old Torah story of the Ammonite princess and the Moabite women? The lesson is always the same. Even thousands of years later.
- George Hall (Australia)
And before Igor brings it up...I can imagine I've got a doozy of a Mossad file because of those two b@tch#s.
- George Hall (Australia)
Well, I am just a horny Jew and I want to get laid with a Sexy Ass! Better than fucking goats, sheep, and camels!
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Lol. I can guess at mine. Two idiot ladies with extreme-right backgrounds...three trips to Israel in 1990, 91-2...getting on wrong side of an Old City hostel manager during 91-92 trip (you don't want to know his particular faction)... Can probably add one or two more alphatbet soups to the equation...
- George Hall (Australia)
Was the croation chick good in bed? My Japanese wife use to be good when she was young. But age changes women, well maybe not all. Maybe I will just Fuck Noah next! LOL
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
Yes, the Croat ex was good in sack. Didn't make a difference in the end. The other one? Great at foreplay...but that's as far is I got. Me being too noble.
- George Hall (Australia)
The second one of that ilk makes a great cult/intelligence thriller novel villainess.
- George Hall (Australia)
I am not telling you my dark stories, not yet anyway! One day will write about them on my blog!
- Igor The Troll יִצְחָק
One thing I did hear when I was in Israel...Gentile guys who went out with jewish israeli girls looked a bit shell-shocked mentally. The lads couldn't figure out their moods. The lads DID say the Jewish israelis were exceptional in bed...but only as an afterthought to the mind-melt.
- George Hall (Australia)
Igor, you can read mine in "A Question of Theories". Look it up. Even has an Israeli supporting character, a few naughty bits, romance, pathos, weird intelligence... and I'll leave it up to you to work out how much of it was based on fact.
- George Hall (Australia)
Actually, I'll rephrase that...novel was a direct product of a batch of two nutty, anti-semitic ladies and the antics they could cause.
- George Hall (Australia)
Anyway, back to original point. Follow Little brain=no brain. Follow heart=heart is the easiest fooled. Follow REAL brain=the other two parts fall into line.
- George Hall (Australia)
Gotta laugh at that promotional link. Might sell it quicker to a few anti-semites, but they'll get narked when they find its not the sort of story they think it is.
- George Hall (Australia)
sorry I missed the love fest. I tried kickboxing dance class and didn't realize what kind of poor shape I was in. pulled my back out. couldn't keep in step because the people in rhythm were extremely hot women. one of the girls turned out to be the granddaughter... yes granddaughter of a woman who I do eliptical with. when we were stretching I could see the satisfaction on her face.... I nearly killed myself. amazing hot young girl nearly kills Noah just in stretch.... went to bed early
- Noah David Simon
you should of seen this girl. I finally figured the gym out. I usually go late around 9 o'clock and work out for an hour. yesterday I went early and did some classes. that is the perfect way to pick up women... not that I am trying ...which is probably why it works because I'm not really trying. the gym is by Marist college. the women at Marist college are some of the hottest women in...

all I know is I work in waves. when I start having a good life... things go in a pattern. I've finally figured out that I like being in shape. screw the damn sadistic art school crap. creativity doesn't come from those that suffer. that is a myth. hurt myself for friendfeed? fuck no. I'm hanging out with the hot mamas and not the politically correct friendfeed hags
