What makes you RT a tweet? Or share a blog post or other?
Usually I think that others might be interested in it or I like it too much. There are occasions when I hate it too much. So, on balance I would say I would RT only stuff that touch both ends of the spectrum (but rarely the boring bits) - sofiagk
Hmm, not sure I understand that too well, sorry, So it would be something amazingly good, or awfully bad? If I am reading that right? :o/ - Rob Sellen :o)
e x a c t l y. I know it sounds weird but I usually don't take a lot of notice of the 'kinda OK' stuff so I wouldn't RT them. - sofiagk
Ok, that makes sense. I wondered, cos one of the most common things I see and it's a bit annoying too IMO, is that people will just RT anything from certain people... regardless of what it is, they probably don't even look themselves! That's crazy and just building them already known names up farther, while not even thinking about it. lol.. leads to repetitive RT's makes it boring itself. - Rob Sellen :o)
ah... that's because RTs can be taken to be a kind of socialising I guess. - sofiagk
I can see it's something that won't change, like say, everyone RT's mashable not surprising... but it gets mad cos you see everyone RT it.. and I almost never feel the need to, cos surely 95% of those who follow me will have seen it a few times at least.. do I wanna annoy them like I get annoyed? Awkward.. where is that line. - Rob Sellen :o)
oh I don't know I try not to think of it that way. If I like it (or hate it) I will RT it irrespective of the source. I think repeating info is one way the network (of people) has to show off what is of interest. - sofiagk
Maybe I should RT more then? ;o) - Rob Sellen :o)
Often it is based on who the original tweeter is. If they are consistent and procide good tweets, I like to share them. - Bill Austin
Hah hah hah! ya think? I just have this theory that the network makes sure the most interesting stuff are visible and what better way to see something than if it's RT'd often? - sofiagk
Do you check tho? or just blindly RT... like happens with mashable, brogan etc.. those who blindly RT seem to just want to be the early ones to do it.. you know.. fast move. - Rob Sellen :o)
Well, doesn't it also depends on your network? Like, if your network does not neccessarily read mashable (but then again who doesn't these days?)... oh well. Still think it's useful. It means that I have more chances to catch the most interesting stuff even if I'm not on twitter all day if you see where I'm going with this. - sofiagk
Certainly ;o) - Rob Sellen :o)
