"I was waiting for this comment. ;) I think it depends on what is being preached. I'd say maybe the ant is the best preacher of "Industry". Preaching the Gospel is going to take words--to the degree that nature itself falls short."

So, Friendfeed is your Twitter app essentially. Is there any way to automatically import all the ones you are following on Twitter to Friendfeed queue without having to make a dummy account for each one if they aren't on this service
- Manuel Mas
I have started creating imaginary friends for people I follow on Twitter and it is pretty tedious. I would love to know if there is automagical way to do this ?
- Tom Horn
Manuel, you can create a special room and feed your twitter stream (as well as any twitter search feeds) into that room.
- Stephen M. Otto
Hrm .... Thats cool, I'll try that. While I am being a FF newbie, how do post to Twitter from FF without the link back to the FF post?
- Tom Horn
so what is your twitter/friendfeed workflow? (if you haven't already covered this) how do you process that many entries?
- Daniel Langendorf
Tom, why don't you want the link back? I would think you would want that so that you can lure your twitter followers to your friendfeed where things are more conducive for meaningful conversation.
- Stephen M. Otto
Hehe. I think is ok if I am posting something without a link. But I think it is a bit confusing when there are two URLs in the tweet.
- Tom Horn
Stephen: So I grab my Twitter Home RSS feed and then what? Sorry for the noob comment/question.
- Manuel Mas
Manuel, create a friendfeed room, call it something appropriate (like Manuel's twitter stream), and use the room settings to set the twitter stream RSS url as a custom RSS for the room.
- Stephen M. Otto
Wow, I'm really not getting this feed/twit/face stuff. What's a room? How do I create one?
- Jack Jones
Stephen: Don't know if it's the same but I created an Imaginary Friend (don't know if it's the same as room), added a Custom RSS yet when I paste my Twitter Home's RSS address (ends on .rss), it says it cannot download. It expects an .xml address so it seams.
- Manuel Mas
I just don't understand why anyone uses twitter. I have an account of course, but it's such a mess over there I can't stand it. It's unusable for conversations and without friends lists it's nearly impossible to follow anyone anyway.
- Jeremy Couch
Stephen/Manuel: On the page http://friendfeed.com/groups there's a "Create a group" link. Once you've created a room you can add feeds to it the same way you add them to your own account.
- Ken Sheppardson
Twitter provides a feed of your timeline: http://twitter.com/statuse... but unfortunately it requires authentication, and FriendFeed doesn't yet support authenticated feeds. You can convert this into a feed you can import into FriendFeed via http://freemyfeed.com. If you add the resulting feed to a private room and follow that room, you see all your Twitter friends' updates.
- Ken Sheppardson
I have to create a public-name group (aka room??),to capture my twitter feed? Why the FF twitter "service" only imports the drivel I POST to twitter, not the whole stream?
- Jack Jones
Jack: You can create three different kinds of groups - Private groups only you can see/post to, Standard groups only you can post to but anyone can subscribe to, and Public groups anybody can post/sub to. A private group is a neat way to bring import and group feeds that aren't yours. For example the feed made up of all your Twitter friends' updates.
- Ken Sheppardson
Thx Ken - I'll try that. I saw the private bit - but confused b/c the group name still needs to be unique within FF ("twitter" was taken...). I think we'll run out of group names....
- Jack Jones
Jack: I always stick my username on the front of any private groups I create, e.g. kshep-twitter for my twitter friends, kshep-ego for the same sort of "vanity" room Robert has, etc.
- Ken Sheppardson
I've been saying this for months. Twitter is fine for search. But if you want to read tweets, you should do it on FriendFeed.
- Louis Gray
I agree, Friendfeed looks better than twitter for conversation, even for reading tweets.
- Luis Enrique León
I actually even prefer reading my tweets in safari through friendfeed on the iPhone over using twittelator or tweetie.
- Stephen M. Otto
I really don't understand why FriendFeed can't act like every other Twitter client and just pull in my friends' tweets when I authenticate my Twitter credentials. Is there some reason they haven't done this yet?
- rodmitch
Yeah for FF for twitter client ideas
- Susan Beebe
I just set up a twitter group and used freemyfeed to get to my authenticated twitter stream. It is not completely horrible because it finds duplicate FF/Tweets and hides one of them, but losing everyone's avatar because the twitter feed group avatar is a bit of a show stopper for me. I would love to see a better solution for twitterers who haven't seen the FF light.
- Tom Horn
Tom: There's one more step you can take... if you want to change the name of the room you've created to the name of the twitter user on each entry and you're on Firefox, you can install this little Greasemonkey script: http://userscripts.org/scripts...
- Ken Sheppardson
I like the fact I can respond to your tweets, via FriendFeed, from Scobleizer.com. Well played.
- Louis Gray
Scoble- I don't want to say you're a liar, but how can you possibly "read tens of thousands of tweets every day"? Reading 10,000 tweets at 3 seconds a piece would require 8+ hours. Seems like it would be extraordinarily difficult to read even 10,000 tweets in one day, and doing it every day seems beyond absurd. If I didn't know you better, I'd say you were insulting my intelligence. Oh, wait, I don't know you.
- Chris Spizzirri
Chris: in three seconds I can read a lot more than one Tweet.
- Robert Scoble
OK, so let's say 1 tweet/sec? That would take almost 3 hours--without break--to read 10,000 tweets. You've implied you read at least 20,000/day. That would require just over 5 1/2 hours of non stop tweet reading. No one can keep up that kind of speed over that many hours every day. You might be able to do it once on a dare, but you don't do it every day. I don't doubt that you get all...
- Chris Spizzirri
I believe Robert tweets in his sleep, and dreams about Friendfeed while he is awake.
- aerobroken
Relax Chris, Scoble is just trying to give people tips. It takes too long to read your unnecessary comments. If everyone was as verbose as you, he'd definately never get to read 10,000 a day :-)

The freemyfeed.com suggestion worked great for my first twitter account, but even when 2nd account is open on twitter, it won't let me pull the RSS feed for my 2nd account! Any thoughts?

hey Robert Thanks for the subscription! You were right of course, Chrome IS a lot faster than IE.
