Touche! Fair enough. We have been talking about what to do with the room and have some ideas. Fwiw, I don't find myself spending time in the room nearly as much as in FF at large. Your criticism will be considered and glad FF rooms are treating you well! - Marshall Kirkpatrick
Yowch! But good criticism, you are right that we haven't used the FF room as much as we have wanted to. Unfortunately it's simply a case of too much to do and so the FF room hasn't gotten the attention we thought. But as Marshall says, we are planning things for it.
Thanks for the kick in the pants, well deserved :-) - Richard
@Richard @Marshall you guys are such great role models for other bloggers to follow. So rarely do you hear about how so and so is very professional but you guys really take the cake. Bravo on taking the time to respond and the quality of your responses. - Roger Kondrat
"Fair comment Gregory, but they use Twitter and they could use FF to reply to
twitter and generate discussion in FF too. Now what they do is reply in
twitter and that creates fragmented conversations in FF and kills the
conversation there too. Sounds wasteful to me even if they can't fully
manage their FF room.
Also dropping a comment here and there isn't that much work its not like
they need to have a full on conversation.
All that being said maybe I am expecting too much or maybe they are working
behind the scenes to bring someone or something into the mix, but it was
months ago when they said they were going to become active and still have
not. Why say it if they have no real intention. Hmmmm.
I don't know about them Gregory but I do know at the end of the day they
could also bring on some volunteers. If someone asked me I would add them
because even I feel it is added work and could do with a more personal
touch.
Cheers" - Roger Kondrat
"I saw in my email that you tried a second time and it didn't come in so I just added it manually myself where I recalled seeing it before on your first try. Sorry about this issue. I will drop it on Daniel Ha asap and get him to sort it." - Roger Kondrat
"Hi Edwin
Thanks for dropping by, always appreciated. The integration of my
annotations is not something I realised and can say I am actually upset I
didn't realise in advance. I just started to make annotations for my own
future article and thank god I only made one comment.
A suggestion from this user would be either a warning on the users first
annotation and/or a check box that allows the user to keep that aspect to
themselves.
Other than that a truly great product and it is good to know I am not the
only one thinking this way." - Roger Kondrat
I'd love to be able to add an image to my FF shares from Feedly....having said that, I wish FF would automatically take a principle image from any web page shared. - Chris Nixon
Hi Chris. I think that you should be able to do that. Can you please try this: ALT+Click on the image you want to include (that will add the image to the annotations) and then use the friendfeed action to share on friendfeed...The image annotation should come along. We are working on a new version of the sharing tools that might save a few additional clicks. Please let me know if it does not work as advertised and we will track it down. - Edwin Khodabakchian
Edwin you could use a plugin for some more advanced functionality like what you are talking about. But that may open a whole can of worms you wouldn't want to take on so early in the project. - Roger Kondrat
"Svetlana,
Absolutely true, it was astounding how poorly they handled the situation and
your points are excellent as they cut to the heart of the issue.
I just woke up now so you may already know this but did you hear about this
new service (www.twit*sms*.com.au) that hopped into the service gab and is
providing a paid SMS service to texters just as you suggested in your
post<http://profy.com/2008/08/14/we...>.
Thanks for dropping by I really do appreciate your continuing contributions
to the site! :)" - Roger Kondrat
"Sometimes I amuse myself - 'ethically dubious position'.... hahaha. Oh well it was my second go at it and I still managed to slide that interesting comment. Radio may not be my thing but I shall try give it a go for the near term. ID/Disqus, sorry for that comment just ignore it, please. ;)" - Roger Kondrat
