Dworzec z miejskim metrem łączą schody ruchome, a metro w Szanghaju ma zamiar – jeszcze przed Expo 2010 – wybudować 29 nowych stacji, bo dotychczasowe 171 to widocznie za mało. "But Lucovsky may be best known for the role he played in a complete and utter meltdown that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer once had. As the NT architect, Lucovsky was clearly pretty vital to Microsoft, so when he went in for a meeting with Ballmer in 2004 to let him know he was leaving, you can be sure the CEO was a bit on edge. “Just tell me it’s not Google,” Ballmer reportedly said according to court documents (for a case surrounding another Google ex-Microsoft hire). When Lucovsky said it was Google, Ballmer allegedly picked up a chair and threw it across the room. What he apparently said next, will live on forever in Internet history. “Fucking Eric Schmidt is a fucking pussy. I’m going to fucking bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again. I’m going to fucking kill Google.”"

"The historic election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States has captivated Americans and foreigners alike. They traveled to Washington, D.C. from near and far in order to witness the inaugural ceremony at midday on January 20, 2009. According to official estimates from the District of Columbia government, 1.8 million people gathered on the National Mall that day. It is clear from television images and photographs that this momentous event drew a diverse crowd to the Nation's Capital. For President Obama's 100th day in office, the MIT SENSEable City Lab has created visualizations of mobile phone call activity that characterize the inaugural crowd and answer the questions: Who was in Washington, D.C. for President Obama's Inauguration Day? When did they arrive, where did they go, and how long did they stay? The results of our advanced data analyses are presented in two dazzling visualizations that celebrate Barack Obama and the people who supported him from all over the U.S. and the world."

Don't know if anyone can help me, but I desperately need a new vacuum. The one I have (a Bissell) sucks and isn't picking up everything. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
That's more of a carpet cleaner....not an actual vacuum. Thanks though cause am looking for one of these too. =D
- Shevonne
Miele - expensive but sooo worth it! As a bachelor its one of my least favorite activities, and with a 3000+ sf house on three levels I do a lot of it. This thing is great.
- jcunwired
I'm in need of one myself. But I love the one my mom has but don't want to pay $500.00 for it. It's an ORECK an it works really good.
- YoYo_P
The Bissel sucks... ? Just be happy it doesn´t blow:) +1 YoYo_P on the Miele. Ours has lasted many many years and could still suck a golf ball through a garden hose (we only use it on the sofa and floors though).
- Thomas Bøhm
@Thomas It sucks AND blows @jcunwired Looking on Amazon for Miele. Do they make upright ones?
- Shevonne
Simplicity 6 series Doesn't cost an arm & a leg, 3 yr, Warranty, free service every 3 or 6 mos. & works well I'll upload a pic.
- D Lets
We have a Dyson. Works so much better than the Bissell we owned before. Has a 5 year warranty. No bags or belts. I recommend one.
- Steve
I've always liked Hoovers personally. My 6 year old Hoover Windtunnel still works great. You can get them pretty cheap at Costco. Bagless vacs do have drawbacks though. You get exposed to a ton of dust when you go to empty the bin for instance. Then again you don't have to deal with bags.
- Alex Scoble
I picked up a Dyson on a fairly good Woot! deal, and I love it. That thing makes even old dingy carpet look semi-respectable.
- Jennifer Dittrich
Very happy with the Dyson 14 we bought about 2 years back. We vacuumed a room that we had just cleaned with our old vacuum and it pulled up TONS of junk. Amazing... We got a good deal on ours at Overstock.com.
- Kevin C. Tofel
Yeah, a lot of people rave about Dyson, but I don't see the point paying $400 for a vacuum that performs no better than a $250 one.
- Alex Scoble
I know a few people with Dysons who told me not to bother as they break often... word of mouth...
- Bwana ☠
Also we've bought a couple of Hoovers which have both failed in less than 2 years... :(
- Bwana ☠
I think I picked up a decent Hoover at Home Depot or someplace like that when I had to replace mine. Bagless, does a good job. Didn't break the bank.
- Kevin Kuphal
We've been enjoying our Roomba we picked up on Woot
- Sally: ice cube
We have three cats and a Dyson and love it. You can get great deals on refurbished models.
- joey
My Hoover picks up just as much pet hair and dust as any Dyson.
- Alex Scoble
I hear Dysons and Hoovers are great. I'd get a Roomba because its easy but that's just me ;)
- Violet Mae Lim
And I have three cats for the record.
- Alex Scoble
Have you tested it against the Dyson Alex?
- Steve
I've heard as many complaints as raves about every brand of vacuum cleaner. I've had my Bissel for years and love it. I know plenty of folks that hate theirs.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)
Lindhaus Pro. Pricey, but they tell me it can clean up anthrax (not the band)
- Wes Hoogenboom
We've got an Oreck. Not as fancy looking and techy as a Dyson but does the job.
- ronin
@Wes Lindhaus looks great, but I don't know if I could swing $500 or more right now.
- Shevonne
It seems the best brands are: Dyson, Oreck, and Hoover
- Shevonne
We bought a used Dyson Animal from Craigslist a few years ago. Best vacuum I've ever had.
- Carmen - Happy 2010!
I guess what appealed to me most about Dyson was it's tech. Brushless digital motor, not the traditional electric motor. Also, the 5 year warranty didn't hurt.
- Steve
Yep, funny. Consumer Reports ranks Dyson and Kirby as the most reliable, (Dyson is second in reliability in both canisters and uprights), but their top performer is the Hoover WindTunnel http://www.amazon.com/Hoover-...
- Alex Scoble
What's funny is that they ranked Hoover as one of the least dependable brands.
- Alex Scoble
They ranked two Kenmore vacs in the top 10 and they seem to have better reliability than the Hoovers.
- Alex Scoble
I've never heard anything about Kenmores, so I wouldn't want to risk it
- Shevonne
We bought a Dyson refurb over 4 years ago, it's still going strong and I'd buy one again. (Multiple dogs, love the hard floor attachment)
- Heather Solos
Dyson. Love it to death. My mother has one for each floor of her house, we get them as wedding presents for our friends, and we love ours. They can't be beat!
- Alex Scrivener
gravity says, "all dust and dirt will eventually end up on your rugs and floors" invest in a good vacuum, the most important cleaning tool, I say. ;-)
- Dane Findley
we just bought a new vacuum at walmart and it sucks the way you want a vacuum to.. its a a Eureka Boss bagless that was 119 at the store. I can't find it online but it is almost identical to this: http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-... except ours is green.
- Bill Rawlinson
I bought a Dyson after breaking several Hoovers-- we have 2 cats and 2 dogs and need the power. I love it. Got it refurbished on Amazon and have never had an issue in the two or so years since I bought it.
- Shannon Jiménez
from fftogo
Shevonne the link is working for me. It compares Dyson with Miele. Miele wins :)
- jcunwired
let me add - we have a friend who vacuums ALOT (3x a day) and she buys a cheap Eureka Boss at walmart and just runs it till it dies then buys another one.. she doesn't have to vacuum 3x a day; she just likes to and, because we know how dust and dander free her house is we bought a Eureka as well.
- Bill Rawlinson
Got one of the Shop Vacs at Lowes. Runs fine does the job,. Had it 4 years now. When I was in the UK, had a dyson, but they're so expensive here.
- Ian May
I want a Dyson. Instead I got an el cheapo bagless Eureka and while it's also bagless, it requires filter cleaning AND it's a messy or clumsy procedure just to empty the canister. Lesson learned. =P
- Andrew C
Is that not what vacuum's do, Suck ok could not resist - Orick is a great vacuum so much so will ingest area rugs
- JuneM
The Miele canister is the choice of all 4 professional cleaning people I know personally, as well as another cleaning service I have used. Reliable, lightweight, pretty quiet, versatile (cleans everything from hardwood to shag, stairs to drapes). And they look and feel like the professional equipment they are, not a toy or a steampunk gizmo.
- Daniel Dulitz
We have two Mieles. Best vacuums I've used, and the cleaning people love them too. The Capricorn really is the ultimate, and you can buy accessories for cleaning computers and other tiny things. It costs a lot though.
- Cristo
Dyson vacuum is fabulous!! I have the "Animal" one... picks up lots of FURRRR balls - yay!! really does a fabulous job. I am amazed as I watch the clear canister in front go from clear to full of gray cat fur in each room! LOL I absolutely love my Dyson vacuum
