Sean, if only I knew. This was delivered directly to me fresh and hot.

Wow, whatever you do, don't google "Asian guys at beach licking" if you want to find the Flickr account for this. No, seriously. Just...don't. o.O
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
changed my life forever...I will always go to the beach with a a few chubby buddies after porking myself up for those bosoms ~ and this image is most definitely going in the ol' spank bank

Remember ! I bring quality product to Friend Feed !:)
- Akiva Moskovitz
you know what would be funny: ok bear with me, if we blindfolded leather donut (you know the booby man) and...yeah fill in the blanks...something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch...
- sofarsoShawn
Sir, randomly linking to your FriendFeed from one of my posts is oh wait you'll never see this because you're blocked for spamming. Thanks anyway, kaghazrangy.
- Akiva Moskovitz
damn this picture just won't go away - you have forced me to hide it
- William Harryman
Akiva, wasn't that pic taken at your last BBQ?
- Paul
Every time I see this picture I smile. Their joy is infectious, like herpes.
- Sparky
Paul, I surely do wish I had a beach in my back yard!
- Akiva Moskovitz
Sparky, I'm going to have this blown up to poster-size and attaching it to the ceiling above our bed. That'll cause some infections!
- Akiva Moskovitz
makes me want to grow a rack and diddle with my own, know what I'm saying?
- sofarsoShawn
this. . . .this. . . ugh . . . so fucking wrong.
- Peter Ghosh
Akiva - you can put anything you want above our bed.
- Sparky
i've been trying to formulate a comment for this for days, but i just...can't.
- joey
I still want to know the motivation here. is this a gay marriage argument? or are we already pushing group social contracts on friendfeed?
- Noah David Simon
oh man this one keeps popping up on ma friendfeed,....must spread virus nao
- Chris Hofmann
I'm surprised no one's noticed old boy's red-framed glasses.
- Akiva Moskovitz
oh right... the glasses are so important when three asian men are licking his nipples and all the comments are by people who think gay marriage has something to do with equality... when it has everything to do with taking protections away from children. the red glass glasses.... um yeah. chicken and Oklahoma with milk
- Noah David Simon
Mark, you have uncovered the dark underbelly of humanity except in this case it isn't dark but is rather a pasty hue somewhere in the vicinity of undercooked flan.
- Akiva Moskovitz
This should be in the default noobie FF stream. Like the first thing anyone who signs up sees. If they stick around they're part of the family.
- Internet's Tad
Perhaps this can replace the kitty pic on the start page for non-members!
- Chris, Taskerrific Guy
I'm certain prop8 had nothing to do with Swine Flu
- Noah David Simon
I'm thinking that eventually, it will have been hidden by every user on FriendFeed. It'll be the most hidden post in FriendFeed history.

I wonder if the FriendFeed guys see this and say to themselves, 'Well, this isn't exactly what we had in mind when we started started FriendFeed.'

I look at it and think, "Not again."
- Steven Perez

Just about the time you FF is getting some class .. Oh well we is what we is.
- Brent - Loving Life
I can't believe after all this time some diligent FF'er hasn't dug up the identities (I said "titties") of this bunch and invited them to join the service that made them famous. Mitchell Tsai, get to work!
- Sprague D
i think if you unlike and delete all your comments anna it'll go away, but hide in general would be nice too (this photo makes me smile every time it pops up so don't mind it)...
- mike "glemak" dunn
*sigh* This is never going away, is it? It's gonna end up like James Bond movies and Swedish meatballs - always existing in the same form. never diminshing, never forgotten. :( :( :(
- Steven Perez
from IM
It will go away, to be replaced with photoshops of the original. It's all part of the meme lifecycle.
- Sparky
I am too new on friendfeed to know anything about record comments.. I love gmail tho, puts all the comments in one threaded email and I can delete them all later in one shot or not if I choose..
- David Gross

well we should aim to beat the record.. i mean jeez there are tons of things that could be said about this.. like.. does it taste like chicken?
- ed fry
I'm gonna have nightmares now. thanks ed. ;)

ok, in Japanese: "an, an, soko dame!"
- Rick Cogley
You can't close this thread. A lot of people say that this place is a Scoble-fest but, truly, it is this thread that is at the very heart of FriendFeed.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I'm officially going to proclaim that this is the FF equivalent of Goatse or FFoatse if you will. Lets all refer to it as that from this point forward.
- Mark Krynsky
Sparky has left 57 comments. The rest of you are slacking. Hop to it!
- Christopher Harley
Chrisitan just walked by and said "It's too early in the morning for Japanese titty licking." It's NEVER too early for Japanese titty licking.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
THIS is the first thing I see here this morning?
- l0ckergn0me
Chris, you just woke up? C'mon, man! It's 10:30!
- Akiva Moskovitz
I knew he would break eventually - it's fitting that it's on this thread *now to find out how to hide a thread once you've commented....*
- WorldofHiglet
As much as I am loathe to bump this post, I have to do it to say, You, sir, are a master. Well played, sir. Well played. This is why I take every opportunity to say, in my next life, I want to be Akiva. I've already called it! Don't anybody go getting any more ideas.
- ♥patricia♥
I, for one, refuse to "bump" posts...it's very unseemly...
- Live4Emma (L4S)
I wish FF-search allowed to do GROUP BY -aggregations so I could COUNT(*) who are the biggest *bump*ers. :)
- Jemm
Makes me laugh everytime I see it. Such a happy yet silly scene by the sea.
- Toby Graham
There is nothing silly about it. This is serious business.
- Sparky
The more I see this, the more I like it. Not for the ironic nipple-licking, but because these kids are genuinely enjoying themselves. :) Carry on.
- felicious
This photo looks so much better in iPhone 3.0!#!~
- Akiva Moskovitz
Seriously dude. What do I have to do to get rid of this disgusting picture!? Doh! Now I've just pushed it back to the top... yuck, I'm so sickened.

Can't believe I never hit 'like' on this! Consider the situation rectumfied.
- Bec Rowe @d0tski
Oops! I hope I didn't just bump this up again... ;-)
- Sprague D
It's just so refreshing to see genuine juvenile humour at work. These kids are no different from any other, I think it's a great happy image, given all the other shite happening in this world on a daily basis. For those that are too pompous and prudish, 'up yours with brass knobs'
- ImJustCreative
Wow. 666. Nice! Actually, the reason Asashoryu is getting a divorce ( http://ff.im/4T0UA ), is because he wants to spend time with this lot.

To this day, the pic still comes back. Just like Herpes. :D
- Danny Minick
Although unlike herpes this photo is fun to share with friends.

You know, every time this pops up, since FF hides the middle of the comments of which there are 804 or so, I see Akiva say "I'm sorry." at the top. It makes me wonder about how some things are just not possible to apologize for!

the thing that strikes me about this (aside from the obvious) is after seeing this thing pop up like 35-40 times since March its just occurred to me that I don't have any (guy) friends that a) would lick my nipples b) would lick my nipples for a photograph. Maybe I should get out more...
- J. Abdul-Qahhar
I'm a little scared that I've this has gotten more than 800 comments and almost 200 likes over nearly five months and I still haven't clicked "Hide."
- Scott of Two Countries
It's just a bit of fun. I mean watching how many comment, not the picture content (although I suspect that is all that was too!)
- Ian May
Allright, you guys ready to shoot "mirth and girth"?
- Rick Cogley
For the life of me, I'll never understand the emotion people have around this picture for or against. There's no nudity at all, not even implied nudity. Less dude nudity than a beer commercial or cigarette ad, yet there are people who really really really hate this picture.
- Matthew DeVries
I found a way to get a Tit Theme, and it involves this picture.

Hmmm, where do you think they're from? My guess is Japan...
- sofarsoShawn
The bumping algorithm includes things like novel people posting to it, in addition to thread age, and rapidity of comments. If the same 3 people are talking in a thread, it quits bumping because it's obviously a closed tea party.
- Matthew DeVries
I forgot, also you're a very handsome guy(saw the wedding images), I don't understand why you don't like to share your face. Rochelle is a lucky lady.

Akiva, now I'm LMAO at the fear of Canada. People are actually afraid of Canada, or just the fact they don't know if they're British or French?
- Jimminy
I don't think even Canadians know that difference.

On Fark, there was this one thread, that just kept growing and growing. On Fark, it was a single page per thread. And you could post images and gif inline. Well the thread wouldn't die, people just kept posting. I forget which one it was. Anyway, it got so monsterous, that few people going to read/post to it per day (which was only a handfull) accounted for 1/3 of the server load of the site. They eventually had to cull that thread.
- Matthew DeVries
I think everyone who has participated in this thread has 'culled' themselves privately.

definetely slower on my test machines... it's faster than version 2 alright, but still too slow. now we're [the company I work for] considering not to support it internally. Version 1 and betas were lot faster.
- Özgür D. Cyric
Really? Seems a lot faster here. Must do more testing.
- Robert Scoble
Always liked it, but still no plugins. It's still JUST a browser.
- Paul Puri
don't change from Firefox and Opera to Chrome, missing nothing...
- Ronald
It has extensions, I'm using an ad blocking extension and it is every bit as good as Firefox.
- Kenton
Where can I find the Greasemonkey extension. How about my Xmarks bookmarks sync and Lastpass password sync?
- Paul Puri
Kenton, do you have a link to the adblock extension?
- David
The only one I found is http://www.adsweep.org/ but it's been discontinued. And anyway it was nowhere near as effective as AdBlock Plus is.
- Otto
I started using Chrome because I thought I needed those extra microseconds. But then I realized I lost a lot more. Productivity is not about speed but about agility. FireFox gives me the tools I need all in one place. Chrome gives me...... well.... really there is nothing improved by Chrome. It starts faster? It surfs faster? It runs certain web apps faster? Is it all about speed? I say no.
- Paul Puri
I love Chrome. I've used it exclusively since it released a year ago.
- Al Stevens
Chrome is the best browser there is.
- Tomy Thomson
But why is it the best for you? I keep hearing all these praises, but no rational behind it. I thought it was the best as well, until I asked myself what it does for me that Firefox didn't. The answer? Nothing. It does nothing for me except run slightly faster. Memory management is not that great. It has no decent plugs to right home about. Of course, it is still young in the OS war games. Maybe in a year or two that will change.
- Paul Puri
For me: It's fast. Subjectively speaking, rendering is way faster than Firefox, and the UI is more responsive than Safari. The latest iterations successfully quarantines Flash from taking down the whole browser. It doesn't memory hogging features that I never use. Obviously, YMMV.
- Victor Ganata
I don't seem to have the same problems other people do with Firefox. Maybe because I keep my systems clean and focused. If Chrome had the few features I needed from FireFox, then it would be fantastic. If all you need is a browser, than Chrome is an excellent choice.
- Paul Puri
IMO, Firefox has never been very good in Mac OS X from the start. I've always liked Camino much better. Firefox is a much better experience in Windows. (I'm using it right now.)
- Victor Ganata
Not to mention that Windows has always been a better experience for me than OSX. But that is another discussion. LOL.
- Paul Puri
I'm finding the latest build a little sluggish and buggy. Weird rendering issues and poorer performance with Flash sites.
- Andrew Smith
Until I can get Adblock, Xmarks, and LastPass, it's a no go for me.
- Matt
Chrome is the fastest browser, Firefox 3.5 comes close but nothing more than close. I don't care for plug-ins or extensions, i am all for speed. Chrome is my default browser since it came out, at home and at the office. Plus i like the GUI. No buttons, menu's, status bar etc. Just a clear and clean window to show web pages.
- Nik
Nik, that's the way I felt about it at first. But after awhile, the simplicity became more of a burden. I visit a minimum of 10 password protected sites a day and have those open in tabs. I open Firefox, login with my main password on Lastpass, hit favorites, and boom. Within 10 seconds of starting up I have all my favorite sites open and logged in. Now that's fast.
- Paul Puri
Thankfully, Chromium.app works with the normal Keychain mechanism in OS X. Unfortunately, that doesn't help anyone on Windows.
- Victor Ganata
Chrome is my preferred browser for my typical web activities.
- Jim Turner
I like using chrome on one of my machines because it is very quick in startup and generally fast on that Athlon 2000 machine. And that was the previous release.
- Michele Costabile
I've been using Chrome for the past few months and love it. The latest update is welcomed and noticeable. I'm not sure what people are running when they say the browser is sluggish, but on all the computers I use... I have yet to find one that runs Chrome sluggish. People that mention extensions... I never really used them. However, extensions are available on Chrome through the dev...

Crome 2 messed up my hdmi 3rd monitor but ver 3 is fixed. it's still to slim on extras that I lovee in FF. I hd to go back to 3.0.0.13 to get the full functionality . I found an extension called "vacumn places improved" which sped firefox up to chromes speed. unbelievable. I wis I had found that addon years ago. Firefox is finally Firefox!
- earl wallace
from twhirl
COOL! So if I need an extension that downloads YouTube videos or blocks ads, Chrome is the one to beat. Wish other browsers had that power! /sarcasm
- Paul Puri
Chrome isn't for everyone, but there are lots of people who don't need extensions at all. But if you follow Kenton's link, it looks like you will be able to block ads and download Flash videos.
- Victor Ganata
@Paul there are probably thousands of plugin for Firefox that you'd think were pretty useless too. The main criticism of Chrome has been that it didn't have plugin support. Now it does and if the plugins do what you want great. If not, you'll have to use another browser.
- Kenton
Hmm. Still like Firefox better. Also can't figure out that Adblock extension, it doesn't seem to offer any way to subscribe to the filter lists. And it's danged hard to do CSS development without the WebDeveloper and DOM Inspector extensions. What I really want is Firefox's interface with the Chrome javascript engine. I don't care for the overly simplistic nature of the Chrome interface, and the process separation is annoying as heck to me (makes it suck up memory like a sponge).
- Otto
@Otto - I'm happy for you, and Ima let you finish, but CHROME IS THE GREATEST BROWSER OF ALL TIME.
- Tomy Thomson
@Kenton don't let my rapist wit fool you. I love Chrome. If you just relish speed, it's great. But it is just a browser. Not a very effective tool for my arsenal.
- Paul Puri
Once Chrome has add ons I'm crossing over.
- SmallCapVoice
Two boxes does not bother me. Chorme only provide google search hence one bar but firefox gives you the option to search other search engines as well hence two bars
- Sunny (The Geek Lord)
just because of two boxes crossig over? sry. lolz ;)
- Ronald
Sunny, I agree. That second box has become essential to me, mostly for Wikipedia search, but I've added a few custom sites, such as Wordnik, which is sort of like a collaborative in-depth dictionary.
- Andrew Dobrow
chrome does have some extensions. @Swhitley's clickable now is one for clickable twitter backgrounds..
- motownmutt
I'm bummed that I can't use Chrome's box as a calculator.
- Victor Ganata
I keep going back to Firefox just because of Adblock plus!!
- David
I love Chome but I love firefox too. Its just switching to chrome coz of one bar is not compelling enough
- Sunny (The Geek Lord)
You can do specialized searches from Chrome without the need of the second box.
- Eoghann Irving
the chrome awesomebar does a shitty job of pulling from your history though, firefox is much better at that.
- Richard Lawler
Yes, this is one more thing I dislike about Chrome. It's much harder to use because about half the time it guesses wrong when I type something in there. If I want to search, then that's not the same as saying that I want to visit a site. What if I want to search for information *about* a site? This is something I do often, but Chrome just takes me to the site instead. Annoying. What magic can I type into the Chrome bar to get, for example, this page: http://www.google.com/search...
- Otto
Ok, here is why 2 boxes are cool. For a power user it's essential, I have about 30 custom searches, which I use regularly. I remember most of the nicknames for the searches (Opera allows to give each search a letter or a word, e.g. you type "g let's find this" and you search with Google. However, sometimes you need quickly access the SE you use from time to time - here is the search...

I miss the one box from Chrome [using Safari until Chrome for Mac comes out proper]

Just seems natural. I feel lost on 2 box browsers.

^^ :)) - imho, RoM is (currently) the best 'free to play' mmorpg available :). ^^ depends, if you like 'fantasy touched' mmorpgs or mmos at all. Before i tried WoW i thought (honestly) that such games would su.. - keeping Battlefield, CS, Splinter Cell, Race Driver Grid etc etc in mind - but RoM ist pretty cool imho. It is free, try it ;)
- Ronald
yes, fantasy definitely goes to me ^^ if it's available for mac perhaps i should try.. didn't fancy wow too much.

currently runing 'update' for ardently awaited 'Chapter II' - no problem here ;), since a lot of work anyway :)))

donmcallister: My Wordpress blog has been hacked even though fully patched & up to date :-( Clean up in process. PITA!! - http://twitter.com/donmcal...
I'm wondering if people are going to start to move to systems that run locally and push static pages onto a server. Combined with Disqus/Echo/ID that's all you need for most blogs.
- Jalada
don't be stupid people. Of course 100% patched Wordpress blogs are vulnerable to brand new 0day exploits. If people didn't find new ways to hack the latest versions they wouldn't keep patching them.
- Mark
Hacking is nothing new. If someone wants to get into your blog they will find a way regardless of updates or patches. Same with OS's.
- Spencer
...hard to say...maybe a 'vulnerable plugin' and/or 'third party extension'. Any 0-day exploits announced yet?
- Ronald
shure it was wordpress' fault? did the attacker target wordpress or somewhere else and then compromise the blog? what about generic php vulnerabilities? i wouldn't feel happy to run the latest, patched wordpress on an old, vulnerable version of php.
- Alb.
I don't really see the connection between being fully patched/up2date and being secure :)

Soon, we'll buy music on chips (actual potato chips, not computer chips). Until then, let's reminisce. - Tuesday's Plinky question: http://www.plinky.com/prompts...
- Kol Tregaskes
78's - honest. We had a bunch of them when I was a kid. Then 45's on a spindle that played a stack of them into a radio. First 45 was "Rock Around the Clock".
- m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
Vinyl. My first record was the 45 of "Like a Virgin" by Madonna.
- Michelle Martinez
Vinyl. Then 8Tracks. Then Cassettes. Then CDs. Then MP3s. So, I guess i have run the gamut.
- Martha
Vinyl. My first LP was "Kings of the Wild Frontier" by Adam And The Ants and my first single was "House on Fire" by The Boomtown Rats.
- Timothy Griffin
45 => 33 vinyl. First CD in '81 then LaserDisc then SACD and MP3
- Francesco LVDI
33 1/3 Vinyl Albums - my 1st two were Beatles Hard Days Night + the one o them Jumping on the Rooftop in their Beatle Boots?? Twist + Shout?? I just remembered my Grade 4 Teacher wouldn't let me play them during Indoor Recess!! Damn Long-Haired Hooligans from Britain!! ;))
- Billy Warhol
I thought it was tape, but my first system was actually a record player. Wow, I don't feel that old.
- Rob Haas
45 => 33 1/3 => Cassette => CD. my parents had some 78s laying around the house & friends had 8-tracks; I never liked 8-track.
- jbrotherlove
8 track & 45's. I remeber dancing in front of the record shop on St. John's Place and Ralph Ave. in Brooklyn for quarters to purchase new James Brown Records.
- professor daddyo
Cassettes for me. I bought a few vinyl records but not many. I bought loads and loads of CDs but very rare to buy any physical media now.
- Kol Tregaskes
Maybe radio doesn't qualify as a "format"?
- Brian Sullivan
Analog: vinyl and 8-track. Digital: .au files via FTP on my C64.
- Jason Huebel
from iPhone
The "Theatre of the Mind" Radio!! FM "no static at all" lol (there was a little AM in there ) ;)
- Melanie Reed
Vinyl & 8-tracks. Vinyl has never left my life though.
- Admiral Anika
Somnabulist, was that always virgin vinyl acrylic? Direct to disc? :)
- Melanie Reed
People used to sing to me well before I started listening to the radio. Radio was next, and then LP's, but the first music I ever (personally) purchased was "American Pie" (45RPM single)
- Glen Mistletoe
Well, for all those vinyl lovers, always remember Nick Cages' endorsement from "The Rock": "These sound better."
- Melanie Reed
Actually, now that I think about it, the very first music was probably at church.
- Glen Mistletoe
Glen, actually, I think it was people singing to me that came first. You're right.
- Melanie Reed
Records and cassettes, though a few years later CDs were the dominant format.
- Andrizzle Gizzle
vinyl first (45s and then LPs) and then cassettes. i gave 8-track a miss.
- Joe Silence is not dead
Cassette and vinyl. Cassettes (and eventually CDs) were more common when I was growing up, but we still had the turntable set up in the dining room and I was a fiend for my dad's records... Stones, Grand Funk, CCR, Skynyrd... it's no surprise I'm still big into classic rock.
- Penguin It's Cold Outside
my first 45 was Tubby The Tuba. my first LP was The Beatles - Rubber Soul. my first cassette was ELO - Time (my second was Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon, so i hope i get some slack for that). my first CD was Rush - Exit...Stage Left.
- Joe Silence is not dead
The first song I remember playing in my room is "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" on 45, on a portable record player that had its own speaker. This was in the 1970s, so I guess the song was already 30 years old by the time I heard it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
- Phil G
LP Records, we still have the LPs around here (someplace), many of which are older than I am...
- Grant Bierman
I'm so old... had a childhood record player (vinyl, obviously) and at the time (circa 1960), many 'children's records' were 7-inch 78s! (Golden Books had Golden Records that were bright yellow).
- The Web's Wendell Wittler
Vinyl for me. Not LPs, at least at first; 45s. I still have all the old LPs from my childhood, at least those I haven't replaced with better copies (because I ruined the old ones when I was a kid), plus I've collected 1,000s more! And I listen to them. My next computer-related acquisition, at least after I get a new power supply and video card for my Dell (to run Windows 7), is a USB turntable. Of course, I got rid of the old 45s decades ago...
- Dennis Jernberg
Cassette tape and a Sony Walkman. Yep, I was livin' it up like Fresh Prince. Holler.
- Danny Minick
8-track, i guess. Also reel-to-reel and vinyl were around, but we weren't hifalutin enough to have reel-to-reel.
- j1m
Cassette tape with a Panasonic Mini player / Recorder .... I used to record my favorite song from other tapes using a karaoke double tape player
- Arash Nightwatcher
This depends. If we're talking about the first music I purchased and listened to that would be cassette tape. First music ever listened to period would probably be 8-Tracks and Vinyl.
- Give 'Em DBizness
Vinyl and reel-to-reel tape. Oh and radio
- Pete Gilbert
O - I forgot DAT and reel to reel, from my studio and live recording days!!!!
- Martha
vinyl for sure. i had a teeny little record player that unfolded. wish i still had that thing.
- Call me Bronco
need to buy a vinyl player with USB connector
- winckel
Winckel Great idea! http://www.anthems.com/Convert... I have a brand new turntable that's never been used just sitting around. would be nice if it could be converted.

Microsoft needs to take control of their own support - Dell support sucks, and drives me away from Microsoft.
- Jesse Stay
Have a client with a win 2003 server. It's needs OS re-installing. They've lost disks. Apparently MS don't offer OEM 2003 support anymore. the product key with the COA (obviously) doesn't work with the evaluation versions I was told by Dell to download from MS site. a third call to Dell support, and they 'find' some disks in stock after all. It was a whole day wasted though chasing around in circles.
- Ian May
Faulty hardware, perhaps. Very common. Bad RAM, buggy BIOS and corrupted hard drives).
- Kittyburgers
I use Gmail these days. Outlook is nasty expensive bloatware, that I can't personally justify the cost of, and with Gmail, none of the sync nonsense required either. I do back it up locally, but not had to use that yet.
- Ian May
Thunderbird sounds good but I think Opera client is worth a try 2 is so much nicer & with the browser 2.
- polou/indigo_bow
Thunderbird is wonderful! I installed it on the fly (IMAP) during the last great Gmail outage with no issues
- 1001 noisy cameras
I think its just outlook... never could get that be very stable on any machine, not since they loaded it up with so many things.
- Matt Ellsworth
Outlook usually runs fine, but you're right in that it can be a bit finnicky if the main data file - PST file - is corrupt. Outloook can be run in safe mode without any addons if one of them is causing a problem. In my experience, a corrupt PST is the main cause of grief with Office Outlook, but is no more unstable than any other programme out there.

Yeah, Linux is no better. Why, I remember Ubuntu crashing on me just last year. Not the OS, mind you, but gdm, so I was logged out. Or was that 2007?
- Bruce Lewis
It's all the crap that these companies put on new PCs that is so tiresome. it's time wasting too, removing it all.
- Ian May
Dell was good some years ago. Now they are average. Deinstall Vista. Choose XP. My new Dell is working stable since I did that.
- Wulffy
ThinkPad, Vista and OpenOffice = works like a charm for me
- Ronald
The latest batch of Dell Optiplex PCs which I installed had this queer 'feature' where explorer crashed on the first time that I tried to open the control panel. They then continued normally. Duh...
- Adrian Scicluna
Now I've installed, for the first time, an iMac running OSX with Parallels and Vista. And for some reason Windows seems to work better under VM on an iMac.
- Adrian Scicluna
Open Office may not be as feature-full as MS Office 07.. but then again, most people don't use more than 5-10% of all that Office 07 can do.
- Adrian Scicluna
But then again, some people really need all those features. I do. Open is not an option for many people in a office environment. Besides, the issue was with Office Outlook 2007, as I recall. Not with Open Office. Who cares about Open Office - that wasn't what the thread was about.
- Kittyburgers

I don't like Outlook as 1. I can't justify the price. 2. it's slow. 3. it's bloated eye candy 4. I don't need it.
- Ian May
does a new commercially bought PC with Windows and Software installed crash more than a commercially bought PC with linux or mac OSX? I'm not sure, perhaps it would be because typically there's way more installed and customized that can go wrong on first run. On the other hand my commercially bought HP with Linux could not be registered online or updated ("sorry, your serial number is...

- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
I would agree with you on the price aspect, however, it is not really geared to individual users and is more of a business broduct and is included in the higher-end Office packages. It *can* be a bit so, but this is usually due to overly large PST files. On my machine with a 1GB PST file, it's still quite snappy, but on lower end machines, this can indeed be a problem.. I don't know about the boated eye-candy statement, though. I would disagree with you on that one.
- Kittyburgers

ok Kittyburgers. I used to use Outlook, but these days I simply don't need it. I prefer Gmail, and there's no darn sync nonsense. That is the main reason I moved away from local email.
- Ian May
It depends which market these licenses are sold. Office Basic 2007 is for system builders only with Offce Small Business and Professional 2007 trial. It is not sold retail. You must order it with a new PC. It is aimed at the small business user, not a home user. This is where the Home & Student version comes in. Office Outlook 2007's target users are in a business environment. This is what I meant when I stated higher-end packages.

that's cuz we all know your old generation is pretty much computer illiterate
- sofarsoShawn
my curent annoyance with MS is the helpful search technology they have added and kind of forced on me - by default it indexes too much, uses too many resources, and gets in the way... and i cant remove it...
- Joelle Nebbe (iphigenie)
Indexing shouldn't be taking up too many resources. Check the settings - you can adjust everything to suit your needs. Just type "index" into the start menu and you should see indexing options (on Windows 7, and I believe Vista as well) If you deal with many documents and emails, I would say that it's one of the best new features. Certainly for me, along with jump lists.

Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt says he wants to try a new event— the long jump. The world-record holder in the 100 and 200 meters says he thinks he could be a good long jumper some day. Bolt says he has been “messing around” with the long jump since high school and would like to compete in the event before he retires. While he’s willing to try a new event, he says he has no plans to run the 400.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
from Bookmarklet
Shey, that would explain a lot. I love watching him run, though. He looks like he's enjoying himself.
- ha3rvey, not a sweetheart
Very cool. I want to see what he can do. 32 feet?
- Hutch Carpenter
Carl Lewis was a great long jumper and doubled up in the 100 and 200 - so there's some precedent and some good footsteps to follow in. I'd love to see him try the 400 though.
- Patrick Jordan
from BuddyFeed
Me too Patrick, it's amazing that he keeps his 100m speed all the way through the 200m. Should be really cool if he tried the 400m
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Hmmmm at this rate he'll be the next Carl Lewis
- LANjackal
Hey Shey - you know what I'd really love to see? Bolt vs. Michael Johnson, in some fanstasy world where they're both in their prime. At 200 and 400 - wow would that be something to see :)
- Patrick Jordan
sure amani, if you were on a motorcycle...maybe
- Richard Lawler
^^ :)) so true @Richard. The speed of Bolt is truly 'insane' - hell i watched replay over and over of his newest records and he did it in a way of 'relaxed high speed' - i am still perplex and speechless...
- Ronald
He's already a good long jumper :) He's not running, he's jumping :)
- Serkan Unsal
There is a huge difference between the 200 and the 400. Having said that, Bolt doesn't even seem winded doing the 200 but I get a sense that he wouldn't reserve any energy for the last straightaway in the 400.
- manielse (Mark Nielsen)
You'd think so, but look at michael johnson. I think your observation is on point, but Bolt's talent just makes you reconsider what is or isn't possible.
- Richard Lawler
The price of "Jamaican Yellow Yams" will definitely increase!!! :-) Love the way he is handling his new fame.
