I used to use rss to see what the people I follow were posting. Until I started wondering, why some people didn't post any new pictures. Then I found out flickr was hiding these people from my feed. Friendfeed offers no solution to this. But now I use flickrfox, and I do get to see the pictures of all of my contacts. Can't friendfeed do what flickrfox is doing? (Of course, it is flickr that should fix this.) - Peter
I read this story. I wouldn't say it's "better" - but more of an enhancement. If I want to "browse flickr photos," then I'll go to Flickr, not friendfeed. - Dustin

The Associated Press: Review: Lifestreaming sites can organize Web lives
September 25 at 2:27 am - via Bookmarklet - Link
"FriendFeed: FriendFeed is an easy-to-use starting point for organizing your Web life and sharing your thoughts about it with other people. Friendfeed can gather updates from dozens of social Web sites, making it simple to arrange all my Twitter posts, Gmail Chat status updates and other online tidbits in one profile. I also wanted to use FriendFeed to collect all my friends' activities. This was simplified by the site's option to search my Gmail address book for FriendFeed users. Surprisingly, about a dozen people I know — including my older brother — were already using it." - Paul Buchheit via Bookmarklet

"The future, they said, is in Web services that do not require users to change their behavior by, say, adopting a new service or transferring all their friends’ contacts from one service to another. One example, said Mr. Kelton, is FriendFeed." - Ana

Great to see the duplicate detection! How does it handle the comments from the duplicate? Which of the two is displayed, the first one or the one with the most comments? - Stephen Mack
The entry with the most recent discussion activity is displayed first. - Bret Taylor
Heres to hoping Duplicate Detection will clean things up around here. - Asad Akbar

As an admin, the text clutters the page a tad. - Adrian
Funny, I was just thinking this would be nice jut two days ago. And here it is. - David Risley
To me it was obvious that this was needed from the very beginning actually, glad it did not take too long to have the functionality ready - Svetlana Gladkova via twhirl
Way to go! - Mark Dykeman
I don't think I like this feature (and it seems to have been implemented a little blindly). While rooms used to feature hand-picked news, now they seem a little overrun. I suppose it doesn't matter much for low-traffic rooms, but its effects on high traffic rooms are obvious. --I'm sure you're already thinking of ways to manage the flood, but perhaps in the future the feeds could just run in a sidebar of sorts - to keep it separated from the hand picking; which could also allow non-intrusive advertising ... - joneilortiz
What I would really like is taking any comments I get from the Blog in FriendFeed and posting those comments back to the blog. Steve Hodson has done this elegantly on his blog - is there a widget for that? - Sally Church

Can people tell from clicking on my name and then selecting the "[person] + Friends" link if a friend is part of my home feed or not? - Stephen Mack
No, your [person] + Friends tab shows all subscriptions no matter what friend lists they are on. - Bret Taylor
Also: couldn't you "fake follow" before FF beta by subscribing then hiding all a user's items? - David Young
Why would you do that? Long live peer pressure? - dekay
The purpose of friend lists is grouping friends, and getting some groups of friends out of your home feed, not "fake following"; I think some people may use it for that, but it certainly wasn't an explicit design goal for us. - Bret Taylor
Don't get me wrong, I think "fake following" is retarded. I just don't think it's any more possible with the advent of beta than it was before. - David Young

I put up a FF & SocialThing roundup a little while ago. A lot of people saw them as the same thing when their approaches and uses are quite different. I explained it enough times that I thought I'd commit it to 'paper': http://glark.org/taming-the-so... - David T. Cole

I would like to see a better mobile site than fftogo offers. Having to remember an off the wall authorization key that I can't find when I'm "on" mobile, so It does me no good. Something simple works, but with a password direct from friendfeed, would be nice. - Les
