“Will more money make you happy? ”
June 4 at 8:00 am - Link
What is happiness? If happiness for you is to have "one more thing" which you can't afford at the moment, perhaps money can make you happy. But can having "one more thing" make you happy? In many ways, I think it could. Sometimes I think money can help you get closer to a "local maximum" for happiness, but that may not be close to the "global maxima" you could achieve. How do you find the global maximum for your happiness? - John Mueller
I find money best described in it's most fundamental form as Time, since everything and every action has an opportunity cost. So the question really is would having more time make you happy? This, in my opinion, becomes a much easier question to answer. More time and the ability to pursue that which makes you happy would in most cases lead to an increased level of overall happiness. - Not Not Geoff Schultz
Then again, to argue with myself (which may require help on some professional level). It often seems that human's are not capable of true perpetual happiness, we are always left craving more no matter how much we have. I'm sure this is a survival mechanism that we evolved into having a long long long time ago. But it sure does stink now that survival really doesn't require a whole lot. - Not Not Geoff Schultz
