Insurance company Nononsense has just launched a business blog - possibly the first corporate blog in Ireland (unless you know differently). Brendan Hughes (a member of this room) shared this with me as it's his company's blog. I know he would appreciate you taking a look at the blog and sharing feedback with him on your thoughts and ideas. I also know that the people in this room are early adopters of social media in Ireland so your support to Brendan would be invaluable - supporting Nononsense in their launch and approach could pave the way to encourage other Irish companies to blog too. And that's got to be good for Ireland! - Krishna De
Thanks for the plug Krishna. Yes, we have launched and not found too many examples in the Irish market of corporates doing so. We'll be the ones making all the mistakes that others learn from! Would really appreciate feedback and any guidance. http://blog.nononsense.ie. Email me directly brendan at nononsense.ie or post back here. - Brendan Hughes
Congrats for the launch. You can probably learn from this article from the Sunday Business Post that covers Irish business blogging http://www.sbpost.ie/post/page... - Merrill

Thanks for sharing Merrill - I'm not in the tech community but from what I know there doesn't seem to be a central point for tracking events - we have to reply on people we know in our network to share them - if you do know of events it would be great if you could share them here too for the members of this community - Krishna De
I saw that since I wrote that, Podcamp Ireland was added to upcoming :) - Merrill

You might be aware of this group on Facebook already - at the moment there are some 3900 members. The group was set up for the following reasons and I quote: "Aer Lingus have instructed their crew to stop using the Irish Language during in-flight announcements on the new Belfast-London Heathrow route. This group is a message to them that this is not acceptable." The point of this post by me is not to say whether the decision by Aer lingus is right or wrong. My point is that whether we like it not, our consumers and brand advocates have places now where they can voice their opinion. We need to monitor our brand online, track the conversations it and then decide how, when, if and where to engage in the conversation. - Krishna De
