Lifehacker - EeeRotate Orients Your Laptop Screen for Easy Reading - Screen
EeeRotate makes swapping orientation easy. Once installed, the tiny application rotates your screen and trackpad input using keyboard shortcuts. CTRL+ALT+RIGHT rotates your screen and touchpad input 90 degrees clockwise, CTRL+ALT+UP returns it to normal. - Alp from Bookmarklet

Storytir - Awesome new lifestream service
Just wrote a post about it guys: http://www.readwriteweb.com/archive... - Zee.
what i love most is that all your @replies in twitter remain private unless you specify you want a particular one public on your lifestream page. - Zee.
I checked out your page, but I don't see why they call it "Awesome" - David Cook
Well, I do like that you can customize it for your personal page. - Yolanda
@David - i actually called it awesome. I don't know of another service apart from sweet cron where you can set up a page customize it and have people comment. There's also a section where you add your own stuff manually like messages, blog posts, audio & pictures...give it a try, you'll see what i mean. The closest thing I know to it is swurl. - Zee.
@Zee - how do you hide @replies? - JA Castillo
they're hidden by default on the public page (the page that everyone else sees). View your page on a different browser or just signout and look at your page - Zee.
yeah, i'm assuming this is yours: http://castillo.storytlr.com/ . No @replies from what i can see - Zee.
I created a story it just a few key strokes. http://russellreno.storytlr.com/stories... - Russellreno
@Zee - I deduced that the public view restricts the @replies after I logged in and out a couple times to check things. Thanks for updating me! Did it take long for your work to populate the stream? My stream only shows posts from May '08 to now. - JA Castillo
I don't really need a new lifestream, I only need FF. :) It's enough for me, it has embed all ready... I use embed more likely then a new site - Kristian Salonen
i know what ur saying Kristian - but until friendfeed allows anyone to comment (like a normal blog) and also allows you to (optionally) hide tweets with @replies...this is brilliant for me - Zee.
Using this for work, thanks Zee - Terence
how do you think this differs from a site like swurl? can anyone chime in? - Cee Bee
no more registrations today - Dobromir Hadzhiev
This is interesting. It's about page says that Storytlr is not a startup, merely a fun project that they are building during their free time. I just signed up. The commenting system in storytlr is really neat. - Jonathan Kong
After having a look to the website I think it's a nice website and another choice between the life streaming services. More or less they are all pretty similar, I don't know about Swurl though. The only different service amongst all these services in my opinion, is rettagr http://www.retaggr.com/ It doesn't have the streaming side of all these services, but it makes a terrific job at being a one stop place where all the services you use are listed. It's an online card and makes some "streaming" of them - Cibeles
I quite like it: http://nathanchase.storytlr.com - it just makes me wonder what i should be using for http://nathanchase.com - should my namesake domain be a lifestream, a blog? should I post content there instead of FriendFeed, and just import it here? Decisions, decisions... - Nathan Chase

how careful do they screen their editors ? http://resumedonkey.com/writers... - Jeff (the マクダジ of FF)
hey jeff thanks for the questions - 1) we screen people very thoroughly (we make them send their resume in and then we interview them, just like applying for any other job. Some don't make it. 2) We do a QA check on every one that goes out the door. - Morgan

Also, I'm concerned and bummed that it asks for so many passwords when it could use safer authorization options. Smokers banned from fostering | Oddly Enough | Reuters
"LONDON (Reuters) - A council has become the first in London to rule that smokers will no longer be able to foster children. Redbridge Council's cabinet agreed Tuesday night to a ban on placing children with foster carers who smoke unless there are exceptional circumstances. The local authority in northeast London said the decision, which will come into force in 2010, was made to protect children from the "damaging effects of passive and second-hand smoke."" - Thomas Hawk from Bookmarklet

Only thing is that I wish you could make it easier to get my Twitter and FriendFeed list of friends synchronized in two ways: 1) doing a fresh search and/or notifying me when my Twitter friends join FF, and 2) by automating creation on fake friends in Twitter so that I can use FF.com exclusively for all my Twitter tracking. - Patrick Lightbody

@Dan, odd, I don't see my shared items on Greader making it to FF. I'll investigate. Thanks. - Pras Sarkar
just changed my settings to only include the material I post *to* FriendFeed vs. all the comments I make *on* FF. Comments come across in Twitter out of context and for an active FF person would tend to push too much craziness into their Twitter stream. - Thomas Hawk
Hrm...I hope people don't put stuff like Digg/Stumble/Identi.ca/Greader. Anything that gets bundled up in FriendFeed probably has NO business being piped into Twitter... - Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
interesting...what about enabling this for identica as well? i only post to identica, which then feeds into twitter...since the apis are essentially the same, it should be easy to hook up... - Trent Olson
I don't have a fucking clue how I feel about this. - teh Dork Knight aka Kenny
@Pras, since we crawl for updates, they usually come every 30 min or so. You can always manually refresh to check for updates from your profile page (select the service icon, then click the Refresh link that shows up) - Dan Hsiao
you can pick and choose which services get routed over to twitter. pretty cool - Cee Bee
This is so great. Posting to Twitter was feeling like a bit of a digital chore, frankly. Just wanted to keep my presence happening there, not much more. This makes it so I can be here 100% of the time. Well done. - Steve Isaacs

U.S. Stock Market Rules Would Halt Trading Should Dow Hit 7,591 - http://bloomberg.com/apps...
U.S. Stock Market Rules Would Halt Trading Should Dow Hit 7,591
Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks would stop trading for an hour should the Dow Jones Industrial Average decline 1,100 points to 7,591.25, based on “circuit breakers” imposed by the New York Stock Exchange. December futures on the Dow average were barred from falling further at about 4:30 a.m. today after a drop of more than 6 percent triggered limits on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Once regular trading begins at 9:30 a.m., a one-hour halt will be imposed should the Dow fall 12.66 percent from yesterday’s close. The circuit-breaker rules, which call for a 30-minute halt should the Dow decline 1,100 points in the 30 minutes after 2 p.m., expire at 2:30 p.m. They would bar trading for two hours if the Dow lost 2,200 points. - Thomas Hawk from Bookmarklet
