These guys are super environmentally progressive... a leader in their industry. I am actually suprised they are just now launching SM strategy - Susan Beebe

It's been pretty quiet so far, but there are a few floating around. The problem is that they can easily jump into conversations that you're actually interested in. - Harvey Simmons
Don't like this idea at all. The day FriendFeed implements some kind of up/down voting or karma mechanic is the day when FriendFeed jumps the shark. - Akiva Moskovitz
@Akiva ... pssstttt .. I was being funny ... I realize that they can't; or shouldn't do something like this .. I was just voicing my irritation over one particular goof that makes me cranky everytime he shows up like Harvey said in an interesting conversation. - Steven Hodson
You mean me, don't you. DON'T YOU. - Akiva Moskovitz
The "Scoble" alert. :-) - Robert Scoble
I was silent all the day :( - directeur
I'm actually surprised by the average level of the conversation here - but still - it would be nice to be able to filter out some users completely. But then, I'm surprised anything could make you crankier than you usually are :) - Frederic
I'd rather filter content seriously... Some idiots spark nice ideas sometimes... You never know when they do this ;-) - directeur
who here is an idiot? comment or like. - Julian Baldwin
@Julian no one that has commented so far :) - Steven Hodson
I called most Friendfeed fans idiots before, does that count ;-) - Alexander van Elsas
LOL @ Robert's "Scoble Alert".. yea, he does seem to magnetize the dirt right off the walls!! Steve... you're are most correct... we need a warning and an eradication system as well. ;-) I haven't had to do tooo much house keeping on my posts (delete idiot troll comments), but it is appearing more and more inside FF - Susan Beebe
Every couple of days, I think "I'm going to unsubscribe from everyone who makes a dumb comment on FF." But we're all a little dumb from time to time and I'm no exception. Throwing out someone for a dumb comment walls one off from everything smart they're going to say tomorrow. That said, there are times when I'd like a block or ignore button for the complete idiot. - Todd Mundt
You better be careful who you call an idiot. - Igor The Troll
We are an insecure bunch, aren't we? all of us think Steven is talking about us (myself included!). - Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins
@Todd, I'd like to assume I wouldn't use it willy-nilly. :) But there are a couple people who may be beyond redemption. That being said, I'd probably just stick to individual comments. It would take a lot for me to completely nuke a user. - Harvey Simmons
@Todd: Sometimes i feel there's not enough smilies to transport the tense of my words too, while I'm being humourous, no one understands ;-) - directeur
Maybe a *HIDE x USER* feature would be the solution we need. - Susan Beebe
OMFG! Did Mike Skehan just join FriendFeed? - Robert S. Robbins via Alert Thingy
@Igor you might call yourself a troll but at least most of the times you add intelligably to a conversation whereas the person I am referring to doesn't appear to be able to add an intelligent thought to anything except maybe to continue in the self-absorbed belief that he is clever beyond words - Steven Hodson
Something like this would be nice. There are some users that I've un-followed that I consistently get via FOF that I really don't care to follow. It's not bad now, but for God's sake @Scoble follows EVERYBODY. ;-) - Daniel Shaw
Damnit, Steven, now I know you're talking about me. Because I am clearly clever beyond words. I was thinking of using pictograms (or at least WingDings). - Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins
Steven maybe we can help him? I think people deserve a chance and a bit of friendship makes them and us as better. But I do know what you mean! Don't give up, if you do you become some of them that we really hate! - Igor The Troll
(looks nervously in mirror) wait, what if you ARE clever beyond words? what THEN?!?!? - Karim
@Daniel: He is filtering, he will never admit it, but he is doing it ;-) - directeur
I'd love to see what other people's blacklists look like, and more importantly, if I'm on them. Right now, I have 3 or 4 people on mine. Kinda like those Twitter blacklists that emerged just before the great Twitter diaspora of May. - Mark Trapp
But then nobody would read what I have to say! - Chris Nixon

India will soon begin to outsource to the USA as well now that the dollar has fallen so low. - Robert S. Robbins via Alert Thingy
The interconnected world is curious. When I was in Egypt, they were getting undercut by Chinese on some holiday lamps, and some Egyptians were only making $25/month. :-) Poor infrastructure and massive traffic jams in China are bad. - Mitchell Tsai
For many companies I'm not sure about the benefits of outsourcing to India - with one of the projects I'm involved with at the moment, I'm sure it could have been done in half the time and for half the price in the UK. The talent in India is patchy, there are some excellent people and some very average ones but most of all I think they lack a depth of experience, this should improve with time of course. - Andy Davies

I think twhirl is better than alert thingy in every way but having able to read people's twits in alert thingy is a big decision maker to stick to that. ...via AlertThingy - ilteris
You're really addicted to Twitter. I don't think it compares to Stickam. ...via AlertThingy - Robert S. Robbins
plus bringing commenting to the client side and easy as this is a big plus too. ...via AlertThingy - ilteris
On the surface, friendfeed seems more complicated than twitter. However, I think the data structure for twitter would be difficult to provide efficient access to, without all sorts of automagic 'cacheing etc. Perhaps twitter.com just outsmarted themselves - martin english
