FYI: num from UKDDI routed to OnSIP req. the use of an "inbound bridge" to proxy the media. Otherwise one-way audio & no DTMF.

Just tested the Samsung Corby - lovely telephone. This I would use if did not any smart phone facilities. Only negative: A bit slow.

Sad reading about PBX buyer hailing the "better quality" when the vendor for switched G.723 -> G.711 - instead he should demand a refund...

this is a mobile VoIP solution which have iLBC built in - but for an extra cost can add G.729a - so spend or not spend on G.729:-)

I just listened to some sound samples of G.729a and iLBC - much higher quality with G.729.

According to GIPS white paper, iLBC has better quality with or without packet loss.

That is my understanding also - and in this environment where we can either use codecs, there will be a great deal of packe loss

GIPS does not charge for iLBC - so the economic makes sense.

G.729 will cost me around USD 5,- per device - iLBC is free.
