I bought a com domain via google the first year was $1.99 and for the second year they wanted $30! I stick to 1and1 for $6 year.

Good on ya. I'm slowly moving mine away from GoDaddy too. just can't handle their underhanded business practices and lowest common denominator marketing.

For the UK I've only had good experiences with 123-reg... seemed to be something to do with Pipex... been really reliable and helpful
