no wifi but a wired connection at the place I'm staying at in Aptos (have to remember to travel w/wifi hotspot...) - #beingbadgeek
In Aptos. Tomorrow I walk down to the beach. Of course that's followed by later pulling out laptop & writing
The Techcrunch/August Capital party was fantastic as always. Plus a personalized @gapingvoid poster!
btw the rear, upstairs space at Caffe de Doge would probably be a great place to meet & talk in Palo Alto
Well @hjl Facebook is rife with namespacr collisions (and most is non-public) Twitter is default public & as such also more exposed
How does the experience of the reader play into that question? @gravity7 ie "news" can be new to me the reader even if old
Always interesting in Palo Alto to guess who works for tech firms, who sells to them & who is at Stanford (students or faculty)
Anyone driving to the August Capital party later from/thru downtown PA? If not I'll have to walk or cab it.
At Caffe del Doge on University Ave - moat serious coffe I've seen in Palo Alro. Enjoying a fine cappucino & a tasty snack
@clairesays I'm traveling light - only iPhone, small magazine & my iPod - pre-TechCrunch party. How's Satura Cakes?
Is Coupa Cafe still the best option in downtown Palo Alto?
Pulling into downtown Palo Alto anyone around want to grab coffee?
Heading to Palo Alto anyone want to meet up downtown before the Techcrunch/August Capital party?
challenge - can I write 2-3 SXSW proposals before my parents pull me away for lunch...
And @gravity & @ajkeen curation isn't just republishing it also can be editing or inspiring new works (see Serpantine gallery in London)
Yes many will be in logoed shirts but unless it was my own firm that's out.
Going back and forth on the suit/no suit (or just nice pants) dilemma re tonight's party - thoughts?
Very true @ajkeen but consider how Nate Silver blogs (long, reflective & analytical) or how mags like The Atlantic Monthly have redesigned
Reacting to @ajkeen: realtime needs to be balanced by curation that pulls out great content, visualizes patterns & reflects on impacts
The dilemma of the silicon valley big networking shindig: do I wear a suit or not?
I have much the same dilemma Sunday: what to wear to a "casual" wedding in Santa Cruz?
oh and small little details such as shower, shave, paying bills, banking & a few other errands. gonna be rather overly tight
my next two hours: race to complete SXSW panel proposal(s), pack (which I hate doing fast as it leads to forgotten items), clean house
problem is I had planned on writing this afternoon, then sending my laptop & bag ahead to Santa Cruz w/parents
just discovered I have 2 hours to do what I had assumed I had 4+ hours to do. sigh.
eh. right. sxsw panels. I knew there was something I need to do today... sigh. I need to propose a few panels (or get added to a few or both
so as I pack for the weekend the question is "what to read at the beach..." prob "I See Giants" and "Little Brother"
