My friends know I've rarely met an excuse to roast vegetables I didn't like. The full post is worth reading. I generally don't tent and often roast at a bit lower temerature but that's me (and I've typically cut vegetables into smaller leces so they roast quickly). Also I toss in a large bowl and add the sea salt and spices then. I often finish a dish with a drizzle of a vinegar - rice wine works well as does balsamic. - Shannon Clark

a lot of the spending may be very hard to judge but definitely had a very real (and mostly positive) impact at the companies I was working at - we spent literally billions in one case but importantly much of that money REMOVED applications from the company (which had over 1200 before the y2k effort - that's 1200 applications which had been written internally by nearly 1000 programmers). So by simplifying the IT efforts, removing many applications, consolidating others and updating nearly every part of the company's infrastructure we also were well positions for the Euro conversion the year before y2k and a major merger. - Shannon Clark

1% of the adult population is a scary percentage of the US population to be behind bars - scary because it reveals a complete failure of society to show restraint, compassion or any sense of balance (i'd guess that the 3 strikes laws and mandatory sentacing especially for non-violent drug offences make up a significant percentage of the prison population). Furthermore 1% of the adult American population hides just how large a number that is - very likely that means something close to 30,000,000 adults in prison. That's staggering. (US population approaching 400M, assuming 1/4 of that are <18 both of which may be high) - Shannon Clark

slow experiences are often valuable and important ones the key today is balancing when to be really hyper fast and when to be slow and how/when to navigate between them. I'm multitasking as I write this, viewing a video podcast - but that podcast is, itself and long form, slow conversation with the head of design for BMW - so very fascinating and "slow" in the best sense. - Shannon Clark

I think this analysis misses a lot of important points that are as of yet unknown. What most people look at is the upfront and monthly costs - financing may help here as might that tax credit. Also there are millions of cars sold already at this price or higher. - Shannon Clark

Huh? New York is fairly liberal - and as diverse a city as any city in the world (among the most diverse in fact). LA is quite liberal - and also highly diverse. Chicago - fairly liberal & though segregated in parts as a city is exceptionally diverse... - Shannon Clark

Nope. Here I disagree fundementally with Dave. Realtime is truly hard and to do well on a global scale and be useful will require drop archives and access to prior data (to for example detect new trends or changes from the norm) - Shannon Clark
