Is there an aspect to you, your personality, your life that your online friends don't know about/can't see?
And is it something that you're purposefully hiding or is it just something that your online friends wouldn't be interested in hearing about? Do you think that the fact that people don't know this about you means that they don't really know you that well? - Sarah Perez
Besides the fact I'm ugly? ;) I don't think so. My online friends know me better than anyone else. - Alejandro
Seems like a lot of them haven't figured out how awesome I am yet. Seriously, though, I'm about the same online as I am off. - Akiva Moskovitz
Lots because I live hundreds, if not thousands of miles away from almost everyone that I intereact with in social media. :) - Mark Dykeman
While I don't necessarily hide certain aspects of my personality online, I definitely dial them down to maintain my staid, professional analyst demeanor. ; ) For instance, I try to refrain from quoting The Simpsons too often or referencing particularly twisted humor I enjoy. - Carla Thompson
I agree with Jason (politics, religion, family, other personal issues, etc.), there are certain facets of life I don't share with others. Either because I don't want to or because it's easier to get along if I keep quiet. I've read a couple posts recently about having multiple profiles to separate your online persona from your real persona and it's an interesting topic. - Shey, Jamaican of FF
Probably the biggest one is that I tend to be quieter in person. But that's probably true of a number of online people. - Ontario Emperor
The answer is yes and it's for a reason. - Bwana ☠
They don't know that I joined the Friendfeed Porn room.... Oops. :) - Morton Fox

I'm an ordained Discordian Pope. Hail Eris! - Chrimmus Tad
I'll freely admit that the ratio of unknown to known things about me is something like 100:1. I've been pondering the question of online privacy a lot since joining FriendFeed. I'm practically invisible online, much like I am in real life. That's my power, and I'm waiting for my invite from the X-Men. - ha3rvey (Ho)^3
most certainly - Tris Hussey from twhirl
none of your damn business! ;) really though, right? ha - Marshall Kirkpatrick
Not just that, but there are things that some online friends know about that others don't, and things that some in-person friends know about that others don't. We're all constantly filtering, even if we're not conscious of it. - Chris Anthony
My first thought was about "shyness" but on second thought it shows. However, there are lots of things that I have yet to show online so I have to say: yes, lots of things... ;) - Andrés David Aparicio
Everyone has privacy in their lives, I choose where and when I reveal I am a vigilanty that fights crime. Seriously though there are aspects in every area of our lives, stuff from my childhood I would rather forget, things that I regret, I choose to be more guarded when speaking about certain things. It's part of online, offline, in line, walking to the shops etc. No matter how vocal you are you still have your perimeter! - Joe Dawson
