Five Reasons to Be Terrified of Google Wave - http://www.fastcompany.com/blog...
I just disagree ... in so many ways ... and will blog about it at the weekend. Google Wave rocks ! - joergkurtwegner
This writer certainly hadn't read the documentation about the wave, and had come to some misguided conclusions. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
worst thing - the writer hasn't actually _used_ Wave yet :) - Frederic
don't knock it till you try it - I agree - was just the only negative article i've seen on wave, thought it was interesting - Sarah Perez
definitely interesting - and after using Wave, I actually agree with some of his points - the real-time view of what everybody is typing is a bit freaky... - Frederic
Honestly I don't see how freaky it really will be (I haven't got my account yet) - we use full-duplex communications all the time: the phone! You don't worry about that then. And If I recall, the demo pointed out that you could shut off the real time transmission of characters, and wait till you hit the done button so that it works just like current IM. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
I also found the spam argument to be flawed. There's a huge difference in the way that the wave is stored as opposed to email, and it reduces the opportunity for spam. (though in truth, time will tell) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Rob - true, though that feature hasn't been implemented in the dev. preview yet. - Frederic
argh. Like I say, I'm still waiting on my sandbox account. (tap tap tap tap) :-) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
What do you guys think? http://jungleg.com/2009... - Jorge Escobar
Wrote an (unintentionally) long response to your blog post. I hope you have the time to read it and take it to heart. I think that you're taking too small a view of the open sourced nature of this project, and ought to look at the huge picture for a minute. I think you'll change your mind on this Jorge. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
'Liked' it because it's soooo wrong (qualifying ... I generally dig Fast Company). - Charlie Anzman
I do too Charlie, but I found the fast company piece so wrong too. There are some common misconceptions, and many of them revolve around google being the evil empire. They may be, but this isn't the example of it. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Guruvan made great comments on my blog, I've moved it to a new thread here: http://friendfeed.com/google-... - Jorge Escobar
Thanks Jorge :-) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Eh, back in the time, some thought trains would make people speed sick - at the 5km/h they were going back then... - Björn Brembs
Too much focus is on the demo itself. Think about the implications of the technoloy. The past few days every lunch we had at our company lead to 10-15min brainstorms full of possibilities. The technology can become disruptive due to its open nature. When was the last time you were able to rethink possibilities when something new came? - Alexander van Elsas
