"One of the greatest dangers for a storyteller is internal inconsistencies. People have a deeply seated sense for reality. You could have a world of Dwarves, Elves and Vampires, it doesn’t really matter as long as these supernatural creatures follow the rules you set out for them." - Steve Spalding from Bookmarklet

Zombie Conventions and Myths
"Zombies are your enemy and during the Zombie Apocalypse you will be their dietary staple. If you don’t want to end up as one of the restless dead you should arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can about their habits and some common conventions used to describe them. Let’s review briefly and then I’ll throw you over to the Zombie Initiative to study up." - Steve Spalding from Bookmarklet

"On the web, people like me (and most likely you) have two tasks that drain our creative energy: building things and talking about them. That is to say, engineering cool new stuff and marketing it to our adoring fans. You can’t do both at the same time." - Steve Spalding from Bookmarklet

If "modern" is gone and "post modern" is here what does "post-post-modern" look like?
"Modern" is a defined thing, and so is "post-modern". I know, it bugs me too. - Andrew C (✔)
Its always seemed like a weird sort of constructions. - Steve Spalding

I'm now quite convinced the Twitter is the sociological equivalent of a bio-dome. We're getting a taste of how society will work in 10 years
Unfortunately, it's become BioDome with about a million Pauly Shores. - Kevin (aka ThreadKilla)

The thought of a million Pauly Shores terrifies me... - Steve Spalding

I've seen the same interviews with the same people for the past 3 years. You think only 30 people are doing anything around here? :)

Writing online, then soliciting feedback creates a better product. But, does it lower its "value" since nobody need purchase?
Sorry guys, you do have to be a member of FriendFeed to comment on this. But, I'd like to see your comments - join up, it's quick. - Jason Nunnelley
Only if you don't offer a final product significantly different than the "journey". The feedback offers a certain amount of insight, but I don't think it provides the real meat and potatoes. - Steve Spalding
So, a portion of the project is done without feedback and another with? - Jason Nunnelley

My problem with most corporate "storytelling" efforts is that they remove all the color and richness from it. The stories are all one-way.
do any corporate "storytelling" efforts that do ring true to you come to mind? if so, please share those examples. @spspalding - .LAG liked that
@LAG I need to look into that, I haven't seen any recently and I've been looking at *a lot* of stuff in the area in the past week. - Steve Spalding

It's an odd thought that these days -blogging- seems like too slow a medium to convey thoughts.

@lealea I don't own the Ultra HD, but I own a Mino and it's absolutely fantastic. I use it at events, I hate lugging around hardware.
Steve, I'll swear by the Ultras (HD and not) until I'm blue. After filming a thousand hours of video on both the Mino and Ultra, the Ultra is hands down the superior model. Just a "For what it's worth" note. - B.J. Mendelson

William Gibson reading Neuromancer. http://www.bearcave.com/bookrev...
I own this. No. Gibson can write, but he can't read aloud. "New levels of boredom for $500, Alex." - xero
I think I'd prefer Glenn Danzig reading Neuromancer over William Gibson. - Rob H.
Yea, Gibson is a little painful. - Steve Spalding
I've had lunch with Gibson a couple of times. It's always mind-expanding. He is the most intelligent person I have ever spoken with. And a very nice man. Is this name-dropping? - Gregg Scott
A bit. Ha. he's a fantastic writer he might do well with a reader for his books though. - Steve Spalding
Nice Gregg, and yeah, it is ;p I've loved every little interview and speech he's given, but listening to him read Neuromancer is just painful. I'll read anything he writes, so long as I'm not forced to listen to that audiobook again. It's my favorite book, but still... - xero
I think he could be very good with some direction and some production values. He'd probably be the first to concur with the gist of your assessment. - Gregg Scott
