Incidentally I had a heck of a time finding the first tweet - Twitter search is useless, I don't think it goes back that far. It finally took a combination of finding a RT of the original on Google, and then searching for the exact text of the Tweet, to find the archived item in FriendFeed, to take me back to Twitter for the original status. Not a great future for the long-term discoverability of the archives of the real-time web. - Richard Akerman
