I think it hits the early adopters well and news audience well, but the masses won't like it. They fought hard enough as is on the current design, which was a step in this direction. That said, I don't have it yet.
- Jesse Stay
Still haven't gotten it yet. Looked interesting, though. I don't think these design refreshes would get me to make Facebook my home: I guess due to the people I'm friended to, it always feels like a high school reunion or a family reunion anytime I post activity there.
- Mark Trapp
Problem is, a lot of us don't have the new home page yet, unless we are supposed to log off and then log back on - lemme try that.
- CLC Radio
I find it interesting that she has a tough time explaining to me why she doesn't like it.
- Robert Scoble
Test persian facebook for maryam

from fftogo
I haven't got it yet. Still says "Coming soon"...with the link to check out the changes
- The Real sofarsoShawn
I think it will drag the masses kicking and screaming into the world of micro-messaging, tough love but Facebook realises the value of tapping the online conversations like twitter.
- Daniel Patricio
It's different - that's mostly why, but it also changes the way people do things. It will take some getting used to. I think Brands are going to be the most affected though. I know a lot of Brands that were customizing their previous Page and spent a lot of time on it. Now the Pages are less customizable towards the brand.
- Jesse Stay
I'm looking forward to it. If it sparks conversation and interaction anything like Friendfeed does it should be a winner.
- Nick Austad
I don't have it yet either, though I can't imagine it holding my attention for very long. I'm just not a member of the FaceBook target audience.
- iTad
From the preview though, yeah it's real timing, a la friendfeed/twitter for sure, with all the service imports you can add
- The Real sofarsoShawn
Looks an awful like twitter streams from the web version IMO. Characters are bigger (which is odd) and everyone's updates take up the entire page and it seems in your face.
- Amani
robert what do you really think about facebook what is it now and what could it be - from my perspective i have a sleep fb group called facebook nation but that is because i believe some day the leaders of the world will declare war on we the people & we the people won't show up - this could be the power of fb - also now that it supposedly as far as my spy jeff pulver says it will let you have more then 5000 fb friends will you become more active or not - inquiring minds wanna know
- geogeller
Any change in Facebook upsets people. People are still whining about the last change Facebook made. It won't make much of a difference. They will create their groups against the change while I will likely be enjoying the update. Some people just have that pre-wheel mindset.
- Rolf Schewe
LOL @geogelier that's a very simple question...in 25 words please Robert
- The Real sofarsoShawn
People generally don't like UI changes unless they asked for them. Oh well.
- Ken Sheppardson
Robert, what specifically does she not like about it? You should interview her on Qik.
- Mike Doeff
how do you feel about the new page, scoble?
- chaz2b
The FB Page (or fan page) is VERY customizable, the personal pages are less so. The pages (fan pages) are the only way now and into the future to have more than 5000 anything (friends or fans). As has been explained to me ad infinitum. You will also be able to jump back and forth between being a personal or a page, groups are also easily convertible back and forth (but that was so last week)
- CLC Radio
It's like with every redesign: a lot of people won't like it, a lot of "bring back the OLD facebook or we'll commit suicide!"-groups will pop up, and after very few weeks everyone will have adapted and learnt the benefits of the changes and will be fine with it. ps: haven't had my FB updated yet.
- Johannan Edelman
I think they've done a good job to-date scaling to match need...and create need. I've only seen the mock-ups but I'm interested to see it in the pixel.
- Dan Stuart
Most folks are NOT happy, excited or otherwise embracing the new design...interesting. I am indifferent right now...need more time to digest changes / impact of those changes
- Susan Beebe
susan, in other words, the most important thing is to adapt I mean to try to get an optimal uses of the new FB UI, learning and adaptivity take time, this is a issue to keep in mind when a company such FB decide to make change.
- abdellah
Word is only ~10% have the new UI or had it as of midnight or so last night. Apparently they're pausing the rollout as Zuckerberg's going to be giving a FB demo on Oprah.
- Ken Sheppardson
I actually really like it.. but I also liked the last change, and we all know how that was received.
- Angelo Rodrigues
@CLC Radio - Are you still able to convert groups to pages? I heard that they won't allow you to do that anymore.
- Amani
They actually _removed_ functionality. No auto-updating live feed. No customization of a post's size. No customization of what you see in the Home feed. The "Full" post option was totally removed. The "one-line" posts don't show on home feeds at all. Basically, FriendFeed has nothing to worry about.
- Daniel Sims
Why isn't the new FB "live" feed self/auto updating like the old FB live feed?? Am I missing something?
- Stephen M. Otto
I haven't even adjusted to the first round of changes but I don't care as much for myself as for my org. The changes for nonprofits who have fan pages was very radical.
- Laura Norvig
