I'll take 5 year lifespan with a big honking sack of salt. According to this: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo..., a Lithium Ion battery loses 20% of its capacity within the first year under common consumer behavior (i.e., battery fully charged, warm laptop). So those 8 hours become 6.5 hours in a year, and down to 4 hours in 2 years. But that's ok, right? You wanted to give all your money to Steve Jobs anyway. :-) - Piaw Na
