Another thing that I've noticed is that the Twitter search engines and conversation trackers seem to keep an archive of every tweet, even ones that users have deleted. When @gapingvoid quit Twitter for two days his tweets were available through Summize, TweetScan, Quotably, etc., even though his account was no longer active. It's almost like having multiple back-up's out there.
