Looks like Obama's focus is on electronic medical records, integration healthcare system into single network, HIPAA compliance, etc; all this leads to more accountable, more affordable and mobile healthcare. - Pavel Senko

A column published when he got the Virginia's Secretary of Technology position: "He's No Technologist, But Moves in Tech Circles" (Dec. 2005) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn... - Jérôme
Vivek Kundra and Aneesh Chopra as the top two IT advisors certainly looks like "change" to me. I hope that they will be able to take on some of the government's broken, delayed, and decrepit information systems, including those of the Feebs, the SSA, the FAA, and the IRS, in addition to everything else that they are supposed to be doing. Basically, I like the idea that Obama picked people who are hands-on with current technology, and avoided picking a high-level executive. - Tony Wasserman
agree w/ tony's comment, picking hands-on tech managers w/ political experience for cio/cto makes sense, though i would have liked to have seen someone w/ more tech chops but can't have everything and they both deserve some time in their rolls before critiquing - mike "glemak" dunn
so i did more reading, he has tech chops - tim's post re: aneesh is the best i've found so far - http://radar.oreilly.com/2009... - mike "glemak" dunn
