Robert Scoble
Another aggregator to bring us more news: http://www.loud3r.com/ interesting, but I want the noise, not the news. Twitter wins!
Robert: You still insist on the noise? Even with things like Zobzee? - directeur
The value is in the noise. Otherwise we'd all be over at Google News, wouldn't we? - Robert Scoble
3r is one of my friends' pet projects. :) - mjc from Alert Thingy
Robert: We don't have the same meaning of "noise" then... I call noise something that hurts, wastes time, everybody's time - directeur
We have the same meaning, yes. Without the noise you can't see the news. And, personally, a lot of things that seem like noise turn out to be important. - Robert Scoble
Robert: the problem is that most of us still ARE all over at Google News, too... - Robert Seidman
Robert: I understand. So, lets say it: You have your "FILTERS" maybe you just aren't aware of them, but nobody can tell the good things without filters. I love jazz for eg. Some people call free-jazz cacophony, I admit that they only don't have my "filters" i.e. "my ears", but I don't call jazz: noise :) - directeur
I think the news aggregators may be useful for the mainstream, but definitely not for early adopters. It is interesting how most early adopters also seem more interested in opinions, than the actual news items. - Rob Diana
Some of it is just a function of the way capitalism works -- here's how it works: write a post about Qik video, not many people will show up. Write about Steve Ballmer conquering Yahoo and people will appear out of nowhere. We're not going to turn capitalism on its edge, so this conversation..also noise! But like Scoble, i like it. - Robert Seidman
Robert Seidman: No, I don't think so... I REALLY believe in one's interests. I advocate APML and that we are what we like, not what the society wants us to be. I created for eg. a web app to filter information on what YOU want to read. I personally like talking about "noise vs. information" but won't call this discussions "noise". It's all about me after all :) - directeur
It's noise only in relation to its ability to change the way things work, not in its ability to interest you (or me) :-) - Robert Seidman
Then ok, I'm into it too :) - directeur
