"This is very interesting. I just bought a Dell Studio Slim to act as my primary desktop/media center machine, and had been thinking about one of the EEE nettops for another media center machine. This looks really nice too though as I can get a suitably powerful machine (just the baseline here) for about $250 bucks. Hmm, decisions."

"James, why the Hero as opposed to the Eris? I have been playing with the Eris and it is a great little phone. Only issue I am having is that the battery life is a bit on the low end."

Sad thing with the Storm is that the 5.0 software has made it a whole new device. If Verizon/RIM would have started from this OS on the Storm and built up I think it could have been a different story. For now, the 5.0 software has been good enough to keep my fan boyism at bay, and I wont be rushing to Verizon tomorrow to snag a Droid or Eris. However, if we see the snapdragon phone from HTC later this month I willl likely switch.

Oh this is very nice. I use Google News heavily and this makes creating (and sharing) custom sections very easy. Just need to convert my existing sections to the new format.

This really is a fun little game. I love the Silver Line series, especially the games that fit in this small size box. Seems like they always manage to squeeze a heck of a good game in the small box.

"James. I agree 100%. The 5.0 upgrade on my Storm has made a world of difference. I used to notice the keyboard being very slow and unable to keep up with my typing. That is gone with 5.0. I also am noticing that the camera takes pictures instantly now. Overall, I am please, but still expect to pick up a new Android phone with Verizon in the next couple months (or maybe Friday)."

Robert is so unique that any experience he has cannot be related to the experience anyone else has. Does anyone really care how/why Robert works?

"I agree this is huge news. I am ready to replace my Storm with Verizon, and I was going to go with the HTC because it is smaller and has the Sense UI... but this looks so incredible that I just have to make the leap to the Droid. Google is going to save me 15.00 a month to Verizon by allowing me to get rid of VZnav and Visual Voicemail (thanks to the Google Voice VM routing they announced yesterday).Looking forward to the year of Android."

Pretty catchy. They are definitely capturing what people want in a phone, a phone that works how they want it to work. I will almost certainly be grabbing an Android HTC phone when they arrive on Verizon.

Glad to hear there is an activity stream in 2010. Really hope they added the ability to easily add media to blog and wiki pages from picture libraries.

A good overview of the move from a static intranet to a enterprise 2.0 enabled collaboration workspace. I think the most important thing in this article, which is mentioned twice, is the importance of understanding how people communicate

"Kevin. While I do appreciate your reporting on this, I want you to know that you have most likely cost me a lot of time. :) I will have to give this a try on my 1005ha. I really shouldn't though as my addictive gamer personality does not need a new outlet."

Twitter client looks cool, although the lack of a countdown is a pretty silly oversight. I can see me leaving this running at time though.

"Kevin,I like your examples, and I think that you have summed up some of the differences with netbooks quite well. I am on my third netbook (all eee pc's) and from a pure mobility standpoint there is a huge difference between my 701 and my 1005. The 1005 is more powerful (both have 2gb of ram), has better drive space, and has a battery that lasts all day, but it is huge in comparison. I found my 901 to be the right mix of power and size, but it suffered from a horrible keyboard. I really see netbooks as being about portability. Like you said, there is nothing quite like leaving the 15" laptop at home and traveling with the netbook. I think the 10" devices are about as big as you can get and still gain the real portability advantage."

I really should participate, as species extinction is something that I am concerned about. However, I am not the best writer, especially where science is concerned. Still, should be some interesting reading over the next day or so.

This is crazy. Gov. Perry fired a couple of members of a board set to report finds on an arson investigation that sent Cameron Todd Willingham to death row and saw him executed perhaps as an innocent man. I am not familiar with the case, but clearly Perry's dismissal so close to the findings is suspect. Hope he does not win re-election.
