#ahmadtan Social advertising Failed - Motrin IB ad in particular takes a snarky approach towards moms who carry babies in a pouch or sling. Although it increased brand awareness, it did it in the wrong light. Take a look at this post - http://mashable.com/2008...
All it took was just ONE PERSON, this was in the case of Jessica Gottlieb who complained about the ad in her twitter network. Already there are thousands of comments on #motrinmoms and almost all are negative with many saying they will no longer use the brand name product. Now all tat is left ,is damage control.

there is this dilemma of ads going viral. firstly, for it to spread like wildfire, it must be noteworthy enough to be taken note of. but not controversial enough to offend. its a thin line to walk. has motrin already responded? i think the longer they take to do damage control, the worse off their brand image will be. netizens have fast fingers.
