"Had I know there would be a demand I might have created it in a better format. Alas, it is only a low quality web image. Maybe if enough people ask we can create a nicer version for shirts in the future. What you say?"

"Agreed Matt. There are still the few businesses that might not find the return needed to justify the time/tech/resource investment just yet, but soon it will happen. Due diligence is needed to determine that. It's only a matter of time."
- Adam Helweh
"Yes Kimberly. If you did it before then you can do it again... as long as you feel it's a priority. You may very well have different time commitments now than before. Make it happen!"

"You had me blushing at "pros neglect their blog". I hope this inspired you to get back in the saddle and start publishing content again. Share what you know and experience. Thanks for the comment Lorrie."

"Thanks blissconnection. I know I'm all over the interwebs, but I can't do that at the cost of taking care of my home base. New post coming soon. Glad to have you at my workshop. It was good to see you after so long."

"Thanks for the kick in the butt Mary Ann even if it was ever so subtle. @Sukhjit is one of those people that are passionate about creating content regardless of if she gets paid. She just happens to be so good that she has turned it into a career. Whether it be for professional or personal reasons, understanding what you want to get out of blogging, tweeting, vlogging, etc... is always a good thing. Glad to have seen you last week and I hope my workshop got you thinking how to wipe the dust from your blog and get publishing again."

"Thanks Val and give Max a high five for me. Maybe we can talk and explore some ways that a company like yours can use it. Also, our latest episode of the podcast I co-host was dedicated to Pinterest and some ways it might be used for marketing. It should be posted here any day now: http://solomoshow.com/ Anytime you want to talk you know where to find me. :-)"

"Thanks for your thoughtful comment. The ability to upload an image directly to Pinterest and then customize the URL is quite powerful. Being able to add a trackable link is a good way to start quantifying the value of each pin and also understand what type of content really does drive traffic to your site and doesn't just generate repins."

"Good stuff Mark. Great reminders. I agree that this is the year that those who want success will be the ones who can tune out the noise and hone in on the signal that helps them achieve their goals. Also, regarding number 5... the death of Steve Jobs and learning much more about his personal path than I ever knew before has really effected my approach to risk taking. Very excited for 2012 and beyond."

"Thanks for your addition to the conversation Sheldon. Yes, this is definitely not an issue for any one company. It is something the entire industry will need to work on. Lots of room for improvement which means it is an industry to watch. Listening to the passionate group of people at the symposium really got me excited to see where this space will be 3-5 years from now."

"I had never really though about the value of sentiment data behind a like or a retweet previously myself Lisa, but once you do you can see why it would be important to include those social elements in your sentiment scoring. How I see it, you will likely need to determine the weight of those actions on a case by case basis. You cannot accurately calculate the exact emotional "integrity" of each social action 100% of the time, but if you get a large enough sample of data you can get a good idea of overall sentiment versus the sentiment of each user and their actions. My two cents. Thanks for the thoughtful comments. Good food for thought."

"This is definitely an important issue for global brands. Not only do they have to understand the language, but also take into account cultural "digital slang" and syntax that may be unique to those who speak a particular language or even come from a specific area. This is a big nut to crack from many angles. Thanks for your comment Marc."

"Short, sweet, easy to follow and informative video. I like it. As the election continues to heat up it will be interesting to see what you cover. Keep them coming."

"Thank you Sergei. For the praise and for the thoughtful comment. You got me thinking a bit. It seems the problem businesses have in doing what you mention is the forethought of which business metric correlate the sentiment data with and also the still lacking accuracy in sentiment tracking tools, yes?"
- Adam Helweh
"Great read Mark. I am a big fan of "the relationship" aspect. Folks sometimes get caught up in the technology and don't realize the secret sauce is how you approach the relationship with the human beings you serve in your business. Good stuff."

"I love this post Chris. You have packaged and communicated quite nicely an approach I have used for the last few years. I also appreciate that you addressed the problem with trying to shortcut the process by automating it. I think the thing that many cannot fathom is that by investing attention they can gain more than they ever were able to with all of the automated advertising approaches they could ever muster. There is a direct connection between this and social capital. Your examples with the kids were excellent."
