If you've tried emailing me in the last 24 hours, you've probably noticed my incoming mail server once again, has issues. No clue what those issues actually are, Domain Monster have advised they're looking into it. Needless to say, I can't receive emails at present I'm afraid. Can still be reached via the several forums I frequent/own/manage. References: http://hphosts.blogspot.co.uk/2013...
You've probably noticed by now that the server that houses it-mate.co.uk and forum.avantbrowser.com (amongst others), is down and has been for at least 48-72 hours or there abouts. The reason I'm told, is the server is still under a dDos attack. No idea who is responsible at this point, or why, and am waiting for the host to send me further details. In short, once I know - you will.

It’s rare that a week goes by without headlines of data breaches or malware attacks – or the introduction of a solution to stop them in their tracks. The latter is increasingly important, thanks to a rash of exploits on LivingSocial, eHarmony, Sony and Evernote – all part of a long, growing list of high-profile targets. The latest, greatest remedy is what researchers at MIT and RSA have dubbed “honeywords” – a new way to deter hackers from leveraging data...

Each incident holds its own valuable security lesson but it’s beneficial to recognize the incremental successes paving the way to progress. That’s exactly what Reuven Harrison of Fortinet’s solution partner Tufin did in a blog published last week. Tufin is a security lifecycle management solution provider working with large organizations to enhance their security, ensure business continuity and i...
As I was following the tweets of IEEE S&P, one of the top academic conferences on security, I saw they had created a special application for the people attending the conference, with the agenda, paper abstracts and a few news. Figure 1. IEEE Security & Privacy Android application Curious, I downloaded the application for Android (air.org.computer.confprog.sp.apk) and ran it through my automated analysis scripts. When the following warnings popped up, I initially wondered if I hadn...
Quite a few updates over the past few days. First and foremost, the bug with sURL is fixed. Secondly, whilst the hpHosts site is still having issues, I've modified the config to try and alleviate the issue, so it should stay up longer than it was. I've also got updates to a few programs going up over the next 72 hours or so (desperate for sleep, and my body and sleeping tablets have decided
