Link was OK for me, but those cookie URL params can cause problems.

And I refuse to fix them. Can someone summarize the article, or point to an abstract somewhere else?

More of a "news and views", so no abstract. It covers a lot of ground. In a nutshell - a research group reported mass spec identification of peptides from a T. rex fossil. Other groups were sceptical and wanted to see the raw data. With some cajoling, the data were deposited in the PRIDE database - but with caveats as to the usage (they claim ownership of the peptides). Cue a long debate about data deposition, licenses, restrictions, potential for scooping etc. etc.

Thanks. and consistent with my view of the proteomics community. I still find it completely astonishing, especially given how different the genomics community is, at least when it comes to sequence data. Is the argument one based on trying to get IP, or purely publishing?
- Deepak Singh
Seems like mostly a push for IP in this case.
