This is clearly not my cat. If this was my cat he's have one arm shoved down into the printer trying to tear up all the internal whirling bits with his bare claws.
- Soup in a TARDIS
Too Funny! Reminds me of the San Mateo Cat Shelter where one of the cats loves to sleep on top of the laster printer where the paper comes out...

1600+ to beat the FFundercats live chat thread. I think with this real time now on all threads we're going to see some truly epic comment numbers.

Ivan, no the picture speaks for itself. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Petr, I have no idea what you mean, but thank you. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
@Kol .. :] that, partially, might have been the purpose.... I don't know it exactly either. :] .. was I reflecting on a cat under the fax, and that it is hard to fax that way ... /?:] ... "underfaxing at its worst" ..
- pb:
there ya have me ! :] .... see, to be honest with you, i saw this pic couple days ago, but i let it go, without posting it ..... what does that make me? :]
- pb:
even a flat cat... faxes just can't handle the hair. You'd have to shave the cat first, else the hair will burn and stick to the drum... a mess! (I am extrapolating from transparencies, mind, i don't have access to a cat to test)
- Iphigenie
Hehe, Joelle. This is now tied for the 'likes' top stop. One more then, hehe. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Hehe, Greg. Blimey! Erm, is that not far from 500 likes now? ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Bloody marvelous, Kol. Wish I could like it again... too cute (and help u to 500 likes).
- Roberto Bonini
I couldn't believe it when I logged on from the morning over posting it and saw it was at something 200 likes! You all have a strange fetish with cats and fax machines, hehe. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
Am I the only one who saw this and their first thought was - My goodness did someone break that cats neck? It still freaks me out a little
- SteVe C
Steve, it does look a little out of place, but cats are pretty bendy. ;-)
- Kol Tregaskes
So we can put this post to rest now. :-) 505 likes final count, wow! :-D Good night all!
- Kol Tregaskes
did 3 people really un-like this? now at 506. wtf (edit: uh, oh, yeah, me and 2 + 506 others makes 509. dammit, jim, i'm an artist, not a mathematician)

"I grew up in Maine and went off to school at Washington University in St. Louis. Of course, upon hearing Washington University, everyone would say, "In Washington, DC?" To this I would reply, in an appropriately tired sounding voice, "You are probably thinking about George Washington University." Fast-forward a few years, and where did I go for my Ph.D.? George Washington University (in Washington, DC), of course. When I mentioned this, people would say something along the lines of, "So you decided to go back to St. Louis for graduate school?" I tried to break it to them as gently as I could that I was in DC for graduate school, but it was too much for most of them to grasp, and I haven't heard from any of them in the 25 years since..."

"Great list! I have long enjoyed watching Dr. Who. I think that there are probably a few reasonable guesses as to why Angie would have ranked the Drs. the way she did. I believe the main reason is that the definition of 'handsome' varies over decades and over age groups. Matt Smith may not have been considered to be as handsome by earlier generations of women during earlier periods of time. Dr. Who aside, if you had taken a time machine back to the '60s and showed pictures of this group of men to women of Angie's current age group, these women would have given you dramatically different opinions. The second reason follows from the first. If you want to pull in a new demographic of viewers, women of Angie's age and younger, then you might wish to start by casting a man that they would find attractive..."

"I think it is a great idea. As other commenters have mentioned, there are several hurdles to clear to gain widespread acceptance. My main concern would probably be reliability of the cards. Electronics in cards can have a tendency to break when bent. Fortunately, they will only get better. I would hate to be in a money-critical situation, and when I go to pay and it won't function. You could be at dinner with your largest potential client, or arriving at the only service station for 250 miles in any direction, your phone doesn't have a signal, there are no payphones and the proprietor's phone isn't working when your card fails. Even though I am a rabid early adopter, I would wait awhile before getting one of these cards, to make sure they are robust (or at the very least carry a backup card)."

It will be interesting to see what people think, now that you've admitted to quoting. It may just turn out that the 10% are the ones who have been drunk all day ;o)

I only care because they took an iconic brand of well made cars and turned it into a cheap shell of its former self producing the same crap that GM has been producing for too long.
- Kenton
Au contraire ! Saab has a great history (turbo, fighter jets, +++), and besides, Norwegian Bård Eker and people from the Koenigsegg supercar company were in negotiations with GM to buy Saab, but GM chose to sell just parts of Saab tech to the Chinese and kill the rest of the company instead, and that´s sad.
- ɯɥøq sɐɯoɥʇ
Companies that wish to retain their history and heritage should not sell out to large multinationals.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
from IM
How awful! I had a Saab 900S back in the 80's, before GM stepped in. I have many fond memories of that car. I wasn't at all happy when GM got involved w/Saab. Now, killing the brand, that is really sad...
- Seth Greenblatt
Apparently Dutch company, Spyker Cars, have now put in a new bid for Saab.
- ɯɥøq sɐɯoɥʇ
Modern corporations run by pointy headed MBAs forgot how to make brands differ its alll homogenized safe and boring and I blame stupidity laziness and mostly that car guys like Harley Earl are gone

- ɯɥøq sɐɯoɥʇ
Yess, I do care also, SAAB is a wonderful brand that should stick around. Even if it is *shudders* Swedish
- Rasmus Lauridsen
When I was much younger, I really wanted a Saab. That desire kinda fizzled out a few years after GM took away everything special about the brand.
- iTad
I owned a fantastic Saab 900S Convertible and loved it! I definitely care, because I thought that was the best car I ever owned, and I want another one. I will hope that Spyker saves the company and keeps it alive. You don't have to care, plenty of other people do.
- Bette Cooper
Your right I really don't care about Snaab. Actually I don't even really care about Saab either.
- Mathew™ aka Youngblood
The chinese wanted the tech so that they could leapfrog the R&D process of getting tech that would pass regulations (crash test safety, emissions, etc) -- also one of the reasons that Hummer was bought by a chinese company. These chinese companies will now have their 'foot in the door' (so to speak) for selling cars in the US. --- there still might be a chance that saab will be 'saved' but it's not looking good right now
- Chris Heath
Ha, we used to have this book about the Bog people when I was a kid. It had photographs and I found it so fascinating. Plus, my Dad was Danish so, some kind of strong connection there. Cute tweet!
- Laura Norvig
Ha! My mom is Danish -- although I admittedly don't take much after her in appearance. My colleague was laughing at a new book about The Bog People and I told her that in my parents house, we have a ceramic plate depicting what they imagined how a particular young girl looked like before she became preserved in a bog near where my mother grew up.

I think we all take our bog people very seriously...

I love Evernote - but I'm not a power user. I just put anything I want to remember, or don't want to lose, in there, and it's automatically synced between my home and work computers and my iphone. No hassle. And everything is saved as soon as you type it, which is great.
- Jandy
Allowed me to use my own apps of choice with my own files. Instead of the limited evermore app. Evernote has a free version. Try before you buy. :)
- John Wang
from iPhone
Yes, I have the free version. Can dropbox allow you to do all the organization, clipping, etc that evernote can? What I know about dropbox is that it is mainly a file storage system in the cloud with brilliant access and flexibility but mainly for files.
- Amani
If you're using it with an iPhone and want to have OCR of photographs, you might want to get that case that has a lens which makes close-up iPhone photos sharper (unless newer iPhones do better on photos).
- MiniMage
My wife Alix uses it alot... it comes in handy for me because she'll put grocery lists on there for me... and she'll use it to store knitting patterns for herself.
- Shawn Whitmire
It depends on what you need. I use LittleSnapper for clipping all my stuff instead. So to me, having my LittleSnapper db accessible to me is more useful through dropbox. That's all. I like Evernote, I just don't need a lot of OCR stuff.
- John Wang
I use web notes - but checked out evernote - works fine.
- Comics Forge
I use to take little notes. I have it on all my computers. No special tips. Use is pretty straight forward. Waiting for a version for the Droid.
- Ronald Hahm
I've only used the online version but I find that it's useful to keep track of a few things like an address or some books I'm looking for.
- James Ferguson
Another happy user here. Premium version. Like others, use it to track anything and everything. Great for taking notes (meetings, phone conversations, etc.). I snap pictures when shopping (items I want to remember, prices). I keep measurements for things around the house so when I come across a great deal, I can be sure to get the right size. I keep pictures of paint used for future reference. Prescription labels. I love that I can access all of this on any computer or my iPhone.
- Herb Hernandez
I use premium and like that from iPhone to any computer I can save to Evernote.
- Dave Blankenship
from BuddyFeed
i used evernote just out of beta and never used it again. the only advantage i can think of that evernote has over any other app that ive used is OCR. For this type of storage, synching and mobile accessibility I use DropBox as well. DB made their iPhone app available a few weeks ago. Highly recommended. just try both and see what works for you.
- Carlos Ayala
Doesn't DropBox still require an actual separate file on your hard drive, though? I'm using DropBox to back up and sync a few of my more important documents (the ones I'd miss in a crash), but the thing I like about Evernote is if I just need to save a few notes - thoughts on the film I just saw but haven't edited into a blog post yet, or a list of things I want to remember, or the...
- Jandy
I don't think Dropbox replaces Evernote per se, it just allows you to use whatever note taking and capture tools you want to use, even if they don't have synchronization capabilities built in. Instead of an Evernote "notebook" full of notes and clipppings and whatnot, you can just save web pages into a folder in Dropbox, create text files, etc...
- Ken Sheppardson
I use both Evernote and Dropbox, but I find I'm using Evernote less and less these days, not just because Dropbox is there and I can use it for "ubiquitous access" to random files and clippings if I need to, but because I just find the formatting and outlining capabilities of Evernote limiting. It's not a tool I want to "live in" for note taking. I sorta miss OneNote, in fact. Hm... I actually paid for a copy of OneNote... where is that...
- Ken Sheppardson
I can see that. I use a lot of tools, and I don't use Evernote for as many things as some people do. Like, even though I mentioned books in bookstores, these days I'm more likely to just snap a shot with the Amazon app and save it directly to my wishlist. For webpages, I'm more likely to just bookmark it. When I was in academia, I used Zotero for clipping research, but it was kind of bloated for a Firefox add-on and I haven't used it since. I guess I just never saw DropBox and Evernote as competitors.
- Jandy
I use Evernote and Dropbox. I love 'em.
- Bill Sodeman
Evernote is an very ambitious software.I use it on iPhone
- kevin
from iPhone
I use the free version... and like that I can sync from my iPhone, PC app or the web site... Great program. I use it to store passwords, log ins, etc... Works just as well with docs, web pages...
- Ron Thompson
I've been using it since it first came out. It is my catchall. I especially like to use it for capturing receipts for online purchases. I haven't used the premium level, because I haven't had a specific need for the features, and my uploads have always made it in under the free limit. I highly recommend it!
