I think the trick is to ask a question. It's one thing to get comments/Likes, but it's a whole different experience to get answers back without having to track @-replies all over the place.

Also FB is on the trail creating a similar feed to the status now...so its going to be interesting to see how it shakes out. I think that will be a mistake to FB...it will turn the newsfeed into full blasting noise.

I'll give Walt a private demo later. His first question "do you work for friendfeed?" No. I never get financial compensation from the companies I cover or get excited about unless I disclose that. I'm a full time employee of Rackspace. I am not an investor in any company I cover, except I have some Microsoft stock (not much) that I kept from my employment there.

David D, technically you're correct. It just seems odd to me to come to a social site and not share. Admittedly, I only came to FF after the Beta started but I've loaded every single account from the infosphere not just for my ease of use but to share with other folks. Possibly people are wondering how many feeds he's subscribed to since all that information is hidden.

They are just too expensive. I want a Kindle because I think it would get me reading more but can't justify the price. I could deal with $99 and no frills like annotating, pdf, text-to-speech, etc. That I'd buy in a heartbeat.

For college kids though, $500 once then heavily discounted Kindle versions of textbooks for the rest of college is a huge win. This is assuming that the Kindle versions of the textbooks are indeed heavily discounted. If they remain ~$60 for a new book then yeah, totally not worth it.

I still wouldn't buy it. I tried it and it seems it needs about 2 more iterations until its right for its purpose. Too clunky now. Lemme tell ya! It ain't no iPhone!
