RT @loic: We used to say to friends "see you soon" now I always say "see you online" after meeting them, instead.
I usually say something "connect with you soon" or "Tweet me!" - Shane Gibson

Walt Mossberg just sat down next to me and says he doesn't get friendfeed. I told him he has to post something to it to get it. He has an account here: http://www.friendfeed.com/wmossbe... Heheh. One person at a time we'll get them onto friendfeed.
Btw..would have to agree. Didn't get it at first...kinda like twitter a year ago. frienddeck is cool to use for it now!! - AlexKaris
Walt, its the future! - Zee.
It's like a lot of things, sometimes you just have to try it to "get it". Kinda like I did when I asked the FF community what they liked about FF. Everyone jumped to share their thoughts. - Ricardo Bueno
I came to FF for the aggregation. Stayed for the conversation. - Nick in Manila
Wierd part is ....if you sit and post like that and watch your screen..its like friendfeed is breathing..lol - AlexKaris
I think the trick is to ask a question. It's one thing to get comments/Likes, but it's a whole different experience to get answers back without having to track @-replies all over the place. - Ken Sheppardson
1 subscribed to and only 6 people subscribed - no wonder he doesn't get it. - Brian Sullivan
Everything is only a step by step process, so it is a journey and in time it will come about. - Raymond Marr aka Knatchwa
Actually he has two accounts. His real account is at http://www.friendfeed.com/wmossbe... - Robert Scoble
As of 4:55 CT Walt had 13 subscribers, lets see where that number goes in the next hour. - John Spyers
Tell him it's Twitter with comments and then some. - Gregg Morris
I've noticed early adopters don't always use "I don't get it" in a pejorative sense. They expect not to get new things at first. - Bruce Lewis
And that one is private -- come on in Walt the water is fine. - Brian Sullivan
Also FB is on the trail creating a similar feed to the status now...so its going to be interesting to see how it shakes out. I think that will be a mistake to FB...it will turn the newsfeed into full blasting noise. - AlexKaris
Hmmm. Sounds like he publishes on dead trees.... - Bryan Vartabedian
Robert - Is there a cure for FriendFeed ugliness? I'd love to use it more, but the gray border drives me nuts. - Jeff Harbert
Pretty amazed that Walt hasn't tried FriendFeed yet. Agree with others, you've gotta post stuff and play with it. - Mark Aitken
Shame that Walt isn't seeing this when Twitter is up. They compliment each other well... - Mark Aitken
I'll give Walt a private demo later. His first question "do you work for friendfeed?" No. I never get financial compensation from the companies I cover or get excited about unless I disclose that. I'm a full time employee of Rackspace. I am not an investor in any company I cover, except I have some Microsoft stock (not much) that I kept from my employment there. - Robert Scoble
where is that friendfeed.py script for the next TWIT? - andy halvorsen
Why is his feed private??? Should i request a subscription?? - Roberto Bonini
Hope you kept Walt away from http://friendfeed.com/scoblei... for the moment :-) Would be like stepping out in front of a fast train. - Mark Aitken
think it's probably harder to get now vs early on since some useful functionality is now mia - mike "glemak" dunn
dude, I think you broke the first account. - metalerik
Who is Walt Mossberg ? aaahhh ok >> http://friendfeed.com/waltmos... , now I know him . Cheers Walt !! LOL - Rocky
Walt needs to start sharing his feed (for starters). He's a tease! - Kelli Schmith from fftogo
Seriously. - Steve Lynch from twhirl
I think Walt is to blame for the crash of FriendFeed - John Spyers
His account is not new. I've seen it listed before. Besides, it's private. Meh. Nothing to see here. Move along. - Rolf Schewe
Just subscribed to his feed. - David Damore
I hope this doesn't sound cruel but since his feed is private - I have no interest in requesting the feed. The first lesson about FF is sharing; On FF we share. - LPH™ and his dog P™
L, completely agree! I can't tell if I want to receive your feed if I don't know what it is! - CAJ, somewhere else
No problem except he has a private feed - what good is a private feed if the rest of us want to know what he is finding out regarding new technology. Tell him to unlock his feed, please :-) - Vicki Z Lauter
@All talking about Walt's feed being locked - just send him a subscribe request. If he sees enough of those in his Inbox then he will see that there is an audience here that is interested in what he has to say. :) - Andy Bold
I guess he was here for the aggregation, not the conversation. Wish I could think of another -tion word. - CAJ, somewhere else
@Alan Jackson: Maybe he was looking for one of these words... > Ending with Tion? http://wiki.answers.com/Q... - David Damore
@David, Ha! Must have been his frustration at not understanding the attraction of...okay, I can't manage to pull it off. Where's Alex Scoble to save me? - CAJ, somewhere else
@Alan Jackson: +2 for you ;) - David Damore
Also suggest he approve the folks that have requested feed access. - David Damore
I subscribed... Let's see what happens. - Herb Hernandez
this brings up something I been wondering about.. what is the point of having a private feed? isnt the point of friendfeed for people to read your feed? - David Gross from twhirl
@David Gross: perhaps it is a way for people to overcome any fears they have about "online" content distribution. It's a way for these folks to 'test the waters' so to speak. Thoughts? - David Damore
My new startup focus, customized software for Robert. Best advertising EVER! - Mark Essel
David D, technically you're correct. It just seems odd to me to come to a social site and not share. Admittedly, I only came to FF after the Beta started but I've loaded every single account from the infosphere not just for my ease of use but to share with other folks. Possibly people are wondering how many feeds he's subscribed to since all that information is hidden. - CAJ, somewhere else

I like the idea of social contracts like a bee-glue between Social Context and Social Commerce. My Question is how can a small community with not such a strong social hubs influence a social contract when is challenge with a stronger community? It's about minority representation in a social contract... - Dan Romescu
Interesting. I've used those eras in a school project on social media. But I don't understand why Jeremiah considers OpenSocial as belonging to "functionnality" (http://www.web-strategist.com/blog...). IMO, it's much more about colonization, if you look at the "Sharing and Accessing Social Data" page: http://www.opensocial.org/page.... - Jérôme Flipo

New features: Beautiful Large Display: 9.7" diagonal e-ink screen reads like real paper; boasts 16 shades of gray for clear text and sharp images Auto-Rotating Screen: Display auto-rotates from portrait to landscape as you turn the device so you can view full-width maps, graphs, tables, and Web pages Built-In PDF Reader: Native PDF support allows you to carry and read all of your personal and professional documents on the go - EricaJoy
@bgolub That's awesome! I wonder how much the Kindle version of textbooks is going to cost. - EricaJoy
They are just too expensive. I want a Kindle because I think it would get me reading more but can't justify the price. I could deal with $99 and no frills like annotating, pdf, text-to-speech, etc. That I'd buy in a heartbeat. - Benjamin Golub
For college kids though, $500 once then heavily discounted Kindle versions of textbooks for the rest of college is a huge win. This is assuming that the Kindle versions of the textbooks are indeed heavily discounted. If they remain ~$60 for a new book then yeah, totally not worth it. - EricaJoy
Anybody know if the native PDF support will be extended to the V1 and V2 Kindle's via a firmware or software update? - EricaJoy
I still wouldn't buy it. I tried it and it seems it needs about 2 more iterations until its right for its purpose. Too clunky now. Lemme tell ya! It ain't no iPhone! - Antonio Altamirano
Luckily I'm not an iPhone user. :) - EricaJoy from IM
@Antonio - tell us more. How rigid/ robust did it appear to you? Was is too light/ too heavy, or just so for the volume of it in hand? - ianf ⌘
