Oh man. That wouldn't fly here. Businesses get hate notes & LTEs when their flags are tattered. We even have a few groups that go around replacing flags.

Isn't it illegal to fly a damaged flag? My dad is big on proper flag protocol and I'm sure he's said something about that.

I'm sure it is. But I'd rather see them handle it rather than tie up some policeman's time. They should know better, ya know?

I kept waffling on calling them and complaining (this has happened before and they are more than a little defensive over it) and I finally hit on a solution. I called and told them I knew a Boy Scout who could dispose of it properly if they wanted to take down and drop it at my office. I was told they are replacing it today.
