I think they should have called High Sierra "Pard; The Bad Luck Dog"
@__dana__ I had this beef about improv for year. Thing is, there is nothing in place to really check.
@__dana__ with that, after working and getting burned by a theater manager, I finally checked his credentials. No one knew him.
@__dana__ I could have saved a lot of grief if I did the bio check *first* lesson learned.
@__dana__ In order to change the culture of Checking it has to start from the top and it has to go to the places that are credited.
RT: @ChaimMagnum: This is the best theater company I have seen in a while. http://www.african-americanshakes.org/media... = You are wonderful.
@__dana__ I'm also sure Madoff Investors and currently the country of Uganda could have done some fact checking too on so called "Experts"
@__dana__ I could also go on about people padding resumes and Human Resource companies no longer doing checks.
@__dana__ No one keeps records. Teachers cannot remember students (for so many) This is why some grifter actors can get away with this.
@__dana__ If I ever had a million dollars, I would do a candid camera audition of making the actor do *all of their special skills* :)
hey #actors from what I gather from AMC watching Bogart? You sure don't wish to run your career like George Raft. :)
@__dana__ I just finished literally watching his rise and downfall on PBS. Holy Crickets! No one looked at that guy's bio! :0
@__dana__ the sad thing is (espeically with theaters) is even if you do a check, you will find a lot of disorganization at the theater.
RT: @__dana__: diff between the Industry (#acting) and other businesses is that ppl can make stuff up-to seem credible. = One word: Madoff.
Once again, @323Talent dispenses some incredible wisdom: there /are/ no small parts!

RT: @__dana__ Are you okay? (lol) My favorite is someone saying they were part of S.C. or Groundlings...and it turns out to be Workshop.

RT: @jillybee72: I wonder how long a full-length play is. = Traditionally Two Acts: First act 45-60. Second Act: 30 to 45
Sometimes I get the joy of running into someone much younger than I am and sigh "I wish this one was my child". It happened today.
